  1. I saw one article refer to him as "Ain't Doug."
  2. Exoiting? Is that New Testament or Old Testament?
  3. If the Jags are smart, they will make the same choice that Sean Payton made: do not let Saint Doug call any plays. If they are smarter, they will not let him anywhere near Bortles.
  4. I want CJ back. It would make sense for him or his agent to use this as leverage. Nevertheless, I am sure that CJ's preferred destination is the Buffalo Bills. If CJ does go somewhere else, I hope it is in the NFC (or at least not the AFC East).
  5. Hackett actually seems like a good guy. I do think that Saint Doug held him back (as well as the limited talent we had in some positions). I wish Hackett well. As for Saint Doug, karma is a B word.
  6. I agree. He has some money, but little else. Wow. I wonder if Hackett will tell them how Saint Doug held him back etc.
  7. Thank you for the insight. I hope you are correct. It would be a great weekend.
  8. Maybe I am mistaken, but the last thing that I heard was that the Bills told Pepper that he was welcome to come back if he did not get the DC job with the Giants. Has anything changed since this report?
  9. Down here in Miami, the vast majority are very positive and the Dolphin fans are upset that they still have to face Rex twice a year.
  10. "Doug Marrone's Failed Power Play" http://da.radio.cbssports.com/2015/01/15/da-doug-marrones-failed-power-play/#.VLgxnqWtXe4.twitter One of the lines: "Saint Doug is Ain't Doug"
  11. I feel sorry for some of these guys as well. Nevertheless, I am sure some of these guys would not have given it a thought when they announced they were leaving to join Saint Doug's staff with the Jets . . . oh wait, I am sorry, I forgot. When the guys who do not get a job on Rex's staff or another team are up late at night all pissed off wondering what happened, they should think of one person and one person only: Doug Freaking Marrone.
  12. Yes. As to your other question: In no particular order: Wawrow; Vic; Graham; Kryk; Fairburn; Schefter; PFT; Joe B; Jeremy White; McShea;
  13. Here is another video from bb.com - Rex behind the scenes: http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Behind-the-Scenes-Rexs-First-48-Hours-in-Buffalo/ebebd619-277a-45b9-9a36-0dcb5fa6c06a I love this hire more and more - and I loved it from the get go. Rex is a perfect fit for this team and Buffalo and vice versa. If some of you guys want to be Debbie Downers, that is on you. I am old enough to say that this is the most I have been excited about the Bills hiring a HC since Chuck Knox. Other than the hiring of Wade who was a good fit at the time, I was not excited about anyone since Chuck. Of course, Marv turned out to be a good hire. The others . . . .
  14. I am with you all the way on this Kelly. They are very genuine people.
  15. That was a huge oversight on my part.
  16. There is nothing wrong with a good defense.
  17. The Harvard Business School has announced that they are going to use Doug Marrone as a case study on how not to overplay your hand or manage your career.
  18. Other new coaches: Vincent T. Lombardi, Jr. Mike Shula Thomas W. Landry, III. Nicholas J. Saban Charles F. Knox Alexander P. Rockne
  19. I think that I heard that the Vatican considers Saint Doug's opting out as his third miracle. It was an upgrade all the way around for the Bills.
  20. Regarding the Sabres, I am all in on what the Pegulas and Sabres are doing to rebuild the team rather than put lipstick on a pig. In my view, we are lucky to have owners that are willing to withstand the pain of the rebuild process (both financially and otherwise) for the long term future of the Sabres. Many owners would not have wanted to do this. We shall see whether this works, but I am confident.
  21. To crystalize the issue: 1) The Bills want to run the ball. 2) The Bills want CJ to be part of the team -- presumably they will use him properly and upgrade the line. 3) CJ also is a threat in the passing game and returning kicks 4) Fred and his other teammates want CJ to come back. 5) CJ is a great teammate, loves Buffalo, and loves playing for the Bills. 6) Rex and CJ already have a positive relationship. The question then becomes: 1) Should the Bills and CJ come together on a contract that both sides appear to want; or 2) Should the Bills listen to the keyboard jockeys on this board?
  22. Crossman is another good example of this.
  23. I saw that too. At first, it pissed me off. Later, I thought that he perhaps was trying to keep it classy (as is the preferred approach by the Pegulas). In any case, Saint Doug really played Russ.
  24. This is the way I interpreted what happened: 1) The Bills and Rex wanted to Keep JS. 2) JS either did not want to stay or was not on board with whatever defense the Bills are going to run. 3) There is a short window for assistants to hook on as an HC or an assistant with another team. 4) The Bills did him a favor (given the above) by terminating him to allow him to get another job that he presumably would want more now. 5) By terminating JS, the Bills will continue to pay his salary going forward (with or without an off set depending on his contract).
