  1. I think that there really is something to be said for the fact that (among other things) teams would be hesitant to hire Marrone because of what he did to his Bills staff and he might have a hard time putting together a good staff (other than filled with guys that just want to get into the league).
  2. I generally agree re phony titles. In Pepper's case, I do not think tht he feels appreciated or appropriately recognized - at least by the Giants and other teams not willing to even interview him for DC. He probably does not feel this way about the Bills. With the Bills, he has an opportunity - rare opportunity - to work with and learn from Rex. How many future DC candidates can say that they have worked with Rex, Schwartz, and Belichik . . . not many.
  3. I believe Sammy is represented by another guy at Relativity. It is the same agency though. The other guy (whose name escapes me) is the guy who was with him at the draft and had his photo taken with Sammy and the head coach of Clemson and others. He also may have flown up to Buffalo after the draft. It could be that EJ also is represented by the other guy as well. No idea.
  4. Whatever works to keep these guys. I am glad Donnie is staying. I also think that Pepper is an asset on the staff. If he does not want to come back, so be it.
  5. I think that there is some truth to this.
  6. If RGIII doesn't get his career on track, that trade will be on these lists.
  7. Yes, I think so.
  8. If Marrone is still getting interviews . . . you really think that Rex wouldn't be getting interviews.
  9. That would be another Saint Doug miracle and certainly help his cause with the Pope.
  10. Just stop. Clearly, if you are Doug Whaley and Rex Ryan (if you truly want to bring CJ back), knowing that he could end up with the Jets would give them more incentive to get a deal done sooner rather than later. If they do not want to bring him back or they cannot come to an agreement, CJ certainly wants to play in the NFL again next year. We know you hate CJ. It is what it is. Should we castigate Fred as well?!?
  11. Quick kick? We used to do that in high school now and again.
  12. Maybe . . . just maybe . . . this is Elway's way of getting Manning to retire.
  13. Because he is not an idiot.
  14. Maybe Sexton arranged it to get the Jags to move faster on that offensive quality control position.
  15. He does. Do you really doubt that?!? He also has to have a plan B as anyone other than Saint Doug would/should have.
  16. Is that a Rocky Mountain High? Elway taking advantage of the new laws in Colorado . . . .
  17. Obviously. This is just another example of the old Chinese proverb about being careful what you wish for . . . . In the end, we are truly indebted to Saint Doug. Without him sabotaging his career, we would not have Rex as our head coach. Thanks Doug.
  18. Some of the CJ haters' cliches: Toy Luxury RBs are a dime a dozen
  19. I have to admit that Jimmy Sexton does a great job of making chicken salad out of chicken you know what. He gets Marrone's name in play for various positions and the media talking about him. "Obviously," it would be better for Sexton and Saint Doug if someone else could interview for him.
  20. Eric Cantona? - only a few people will get the reference.
  21. Couldn't the Bills make him assistant defensive coordinator? That would be good for the Bills and good for Pepper's career aspirations. Get him involved in everything. He could learn Rex's D. He certainly would have insight into Belichick's D. Win all around.
  22. Being an Arsenal supporter, I am going to have to resist making any comments.
  23. If Saint Doug is interviewed, the NFL must have an instituted a "Rooney Rule" for interviewing middling candidates who treat people miserably and sabotage their own careers.
