  1. Moorehead would be ideal in a 3-4, if anyone shoud offer him a contract it would be Pitt. Sands looks the part. I don't think our problems will be fixed via RFAs, even slightly.
  2. 1-Haloti Ngata DT, Ngata over Bunkley and here is why. First I agree that Bunkley is better suited for a cover 2, however Ngata is better at all defenses, besides mentioned cover 2. I know we are running a cover 2, however, how long will this last? we have tried just about every possible defense known to man in the last 10 year. what makes us think that the cover two is what we are going to stay with. Ngata, can be a very good interior lineman in any defense, he has great quickness for his size. and when we switch to a 3-4 in 4 years, we won't have to look for a true nose. 2-Davin Joseph LG, good athlete, likes to compare himself to Ruben Brown, which I am fine with. would start as a rookie over Bennie Anderson. can make all of the pulls and get to the 2nd level better than any other guard in this draft, also could compete for LT 3b-Andrew Whitworth, RT-tough, strong, and average athletically. At the moment I would pencil him in at LT assuming that we stick with Peters at RT. 3b-Anthony Smith-good athlete, covers well, good hitter, and very football smart. Could be our starting SS or FS. 4-Jason Avant-after his 4.8 forty time he is falling a little, also has a cast on hand, which might be the reason behind the bad time, runs great routes and would be a steal here. 5a-Brandon Marshall- 6'5" 230 pound WR, has had some big games for UCF, and has play defense too, could make the team on special teams 5b-Josh Lay-corner from Pitt, Ty Laws cousin, regardless, good size, long arms, runs very well, has great breaking ability. Ideal for cover two 6. Antoine Bethea-small school DB, could go earlier, very athletic and could compete for any DB position 7a-William Kershaw-OLB went to Maryland, Maryland seems to be getting their players very ready for the NFL. Could compete for LOLB, or special teams 7b-Damien Rhodes-SU running back, good hands, average blocker, could compete for 3rd down back role, and if he could do that as a 7th rounder, that is impressive.
  3. Giants | Team stepping back from Arrington? Sun, 9 Apr 2006 09:10:24 -0700 Chris Harry, of the Orlando Sentinel, reports the New York Giants reportedly took a step back from free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) last week. They reportedly took a step back when agent Carl Poston threw out numbers in the seven-year, $54 million range, with a signing-bonus demand of $14 million.
  4. he's one of those players that half of the board will bash, however if he became a bill they would love him and say they wanted him from the start. 7 year 54 million and a 14 million signing bonus is what he is asking for, a little too rich for my blood, but is he an upgrade to Posey?...WITHOUT QUESTION, is he worth that kind of money, maybe not, health is a question mark. But a 5 year 26 million dollar contract and a 8 million dollar signing bonus seems more reasonable for a player that is 2 years removed from the pro bowl.
  5. You can not trade this high of a pick for a 2nd rounder this year and then a 1st next, first off no, 2nd no. the 8th pick, HAS TO GET US A STARTER, even if we trade down, we have to to get a starter....I am sorry I yelled. Plus lets say it's a 49ers that we do this deal hoping that we get a better than 8th for next year. Don't you think that the 49ers would improve with two top 10 picks. This draft is too strong, and it is unclear how next years looks-(right now), we could throw out names, but they still have to play the season. Do the best thing for this team this year, if we trade down, don't go to far back, and get an S load of picks. one or two great player could be had in this draft.
  6. I like kevin Johnson he had some good years with the browns. Peerless has an eye injury, or some medical issues with his eyes. Dez White is a physical WR, I believe he played for Dick, and our coach when he was with the bears. Is david boston still availible? I like jason Avant in this years draft, I think he compares well to Boldin, great hands very physical, and runs great routes. just ignore his 40 time, like the Cards did with Boldin and get him with the last of of our 3s or 4
  7. Not sure if you really want to brag about UCF. it is barely better than Valencia.
  8. First of we can't compare Davis to any other rookie TE, because Davis will have to be our first option, and not just another option. Davis may be the new evolution of TEs, And I have seen the tape of the combines, I think I still have it Tivo'd and I recalled him catching everything with his hands. also i feel your pains about blocking, however, a threat at TE trumps blocking, in these terms. What killed us the most last year was when teams would send 2 LBs or DBs overloading our line. Too many of our routes were long routes, and then they would jump our short routes, who ran our short routes, Campbell, euhus and other non threatening TEs. I would hope that teams would blitz, because if they blitz from Davis' side, he is such a good athlete you could hit him on a short route, and he could take it 10, 15, 100 yards. if they blitz the other side, it would be smarter, however who can cover Davis, do they move up a Safety, allowing Evans one on one on the outside. a LBer that doesn't have the foot speed. he creates offense. Bottom line, I like Winston Justice, and if we trade down and still get him that is great, however we need offensive threats, and like I said Davis could be a once in a lifetime TE. We are not even close to set at TE. the notion that Fairchild doesn't favor TEs is more the result of having Holt, Bruce, Jackson, Faulk, and Curtis, and not needing a threat at TE. we have Evans, Mcgahee.....
  9. What I would do... Sign Grady Jackson and Brad Hopkins to 1 year deal, that way we don't have to carry any of there cap hit into 2007, however I would over pay for their services. We have a lot of cap room. Like almost 6 million more after yesterday's event. we have the money, we need the talent. Both are nearing the end of their careers, but this would take care of two positions that are in some need. After all how can you tell Losman's abilities if he is running for his life, this gives us more time to spend with the younger players then we draft as such, if we talk up the idea of taking Cutler/Young, or the possibility of trading down to the Vikings, we could lure the cards to move up 2 spots to get a fran QB (NFL network seems to think they are) at 10 we still could have a shot at Justice, Huff, Bunkley, or hopefully Davis-who would be the go to WR/TE, while at the same time picking up a 3rd or 4th. Then in the 2nd round get a Safety-Whitner/bing, 3rd another WR- Avent/Stovall, and address lines after that.
  10. the more I watch Elvis the better i feel about him, he isn't big enough, yet he can do it. He could be an outstanding LE on passing Downs, and maybe a good LOLB.
  11. in the sooner/duck game, which I have still on my tivo, I noticed that when they tried to run up the middle (sooners) they were stopped, however they were able to run outside and away from Ngata, but that is peterson's game. On passing down Ngata was doubled and he just worked to get into the QB's line of site-like he should
  12. don't forget we still need to address Safety, if bing makes it out of the 1st, or Simpson, I could live with them, however good value in Bullock, Smith, maybe Blue in the 3rd.
  13. It is hard to find a LT that can start right away, that said I don't think D'Brick is one of them, he can't handle inside moves well (yet) and he has not faced a 3-4 team, other than his own, D'brick will be destroyed his rookie year, my only hope is that the single engine planes get him, so that Schobel can pad his stats. I'd rather trade down and get Justice, and pick up more picks, I think Peters can and will have a good career at LT.
  14. I doubt you are a Pirate, and your knowledge of the Bills, tend to make me question if you are a gal
  15. Congrats. But does it have florida's growing crime rate
  16. my issue with Bunkley is, he might fit into the cover two, but Ngata fits into all defenses. and lets face facts here, is Juoron and his cover two going to be here for Bunkley's entire career, assuming he stays in Buffalo? Ngata is a safer pick, and when Jouron is fired one day, and a new coach moves in and wants to play another defense we won't have to figure out what to do with Bunkley.
  17. you already know about the picks, but there is no way we could swing that deal, I would crap my pants if we could get those trades. the numbers don't add up. If we moved down to 15, the Broncos would have to give us a 2nd rounder, so forget about it.
  18. Henry's college nickname was, cheese. Not sure why, but a UT a former UT student told me that. and you forgot Mike #^%$ Williams.
  19. I like the pick, because, it is going to be the first pick of the 2nd day, teams will want that pick, and we get to re-scout those who were not drafted on day one. Always look on the bright side of life,
  20. thank you, that made me feel better. "the jets know something..." just wonderful
  21. Good luck to Eric, and he thought he had it bad in Buffalo, there is a reason they are picking first.
  22. you're cuban and you have to ask us, WWTD? Everyone look at the bad guy.
  23. that doesn't seem fair, I have a wash board stomach, but it is due to the fact my job is very physical, and I watch what I eat beacuse of family history. And it depends what bathroom we are talking about, I challenge anyone to take a dump in a 7/11 bathroom off of any highly traveled road. My Cats name is Gator, after Burt Reynolds, is that gay? he attacks everything, including my dog. and what about splenda? I have so many question now, i better tell my wife
  24. I have a dog, a springer, a bird dog, I also have birds, (wife's birds) Riley is a sweet dog, that is afraid of my 20 pound beast of a cat, and never barks, however I would not allow the bird out of their cages with Riley out. Reason, because Riley's parents' parents' et cetera made this dog think catching birds is a good thing. I am not saying there are not some wonderful Pit bulls out there. However, don't be surprised, when that Pit attacks, it's programed in his brain, and he can fight the urge all he wants, but he will snap, and if he doesn't it's lucky you didn't come across what made him snap. Also Pit bulls are typically owned by the lowest creatures (sorry Alaska Darin, Typically I don't think you) and years of Rednecks, and Gangsta teaching to kill have made the bred worse. Like guns i don't think they should be in everyones hands.
  25. hold on one second, here is the question, would you rather get nothing and have moulds released or holdout, or would you rather get something, and send him to a place that might have a weaker offense than our's, in Houston. -Do not send him to NE, I would rather have the Houston 4th over a NE 3rd. Also i value the houston 4th over a late 3rd anyways, you get the first pick on the 2nd day, over the past few draft there is always someone projected to go 1st and 2nd that are availible in the 4th, not to mention you have all night to rescout, and pick the very best player for your situation. Not to mention players pick on the 2nd day play with a chip on their shoulders. Not to also mention, the chance to get additional pick from that pick, like I said there could be a player the 10th team drafting that day wants, and is afraid to wait. the 3rd round moves so fast before you get to look at what is left it's too late, and you have to hand in your card. Get the 4th send him to Houston, where he'll be the 4th option, behind, Bush, Johnson and getting sacked.
