  1. one of the beauties of having players that can play many positions on your offensive line is this, you'll suit up 8, maybe nine total. My current starting line up Peters-Reyes-Fowler-Villarrial-Gandy (i'd move gandy over to RT, as a LT he lacks the quickness, as a RT he is ideal) with three suited back ups, maybe four if players are playing hurt. three main back ups are, Preston (guard or center) Gibson (guard of tackle, assuming he is healthy and in shape) or Anderson (either guard) and Jerman or a rookie tackle. If Peters gets hurt, move gandy to LT, and jerman in. and so forth 6 LBs, and they are Crowell, Fletcher, Spikes (when healthy) Haggan (special teamer) Ellison (special teamer) and Stamer (special teamer) notice no Posey, I'd make Posey a PRS, if I keep him. CB 5, Clements, Youboty, McGee, King, Baker (or vincent) 4 safeties Vincent (or Baker) Simpson, Whitner, Bowen. i might consider moving Vincent back to CB if Simpson is learning fast enough, because he is the future of the FS spot. and Vincent is still quick enough to play in the cover 2. DT 5, heavy rotation, Tripplett, McCargo, Anderson, Williams, and Jefferson (he has the size and quickness for the 1 or 3) DE 4 Schobel, Denney, Kelsey, and Posey WR 5 Evans, Price, Reed, parrish, Nance or davis qb 3 Nall, Losman, Holcomb RB 3 Mcgahee, Thomas (if healthy) and Williams or (if I were coach) Reed-reed started off at LSU as a RB, LSU RBs are typically good at catching the ball out of the back field and picking up blitzes at 5'10 210ish he has better 3rd down back size and creates issues, he also can run the ball (I hope) TE 3 Royal, Euhus, Everett lindell, Moorman, and the LS didn't do the math, but remaining spots should be taken by players able to be Special teamers
  2. Watch out, I hear Yale and Harvards football teams are going to be amazing next year.
  3. That's funny, I heard the bull goes right around him like he was standing still.
  4. bump, it's been 8 hours since the last post.
  5. have you heard that Oakland is upset with Jonas Jennings too. and yes there is only room for one superstar in dallas, and that is Nate Newton
  6. lots! the more we bring to camp the better.
  7. the question, would you use a 3rd rounder, on a player many have considered to be the best to ever play at his college and that college has produced pretty good players (crowell and sharper) The player is Ahmad Brooks, he WAS considered to be the top or 2nd best LB in the 07 draft. But he is entering the sup draft, he has had some off the field issues. And he has more than enough size to play LOLB, at 6'4" 255. without the issues, had he come out this year, he would have been a first round pick, somewhere between 10-20, of course assuming he runs a good 40, et cetera
  8. actually I think we'll see this, Crowell at will, Fletcher at middle and posey at sam to start the season, then once Spikes is fully ready, mid oct, he moves into Sam. Prior to the injury was one of the strongest LB in the league, and is great at moving through and around blocks, his lack of foot speed (from said injury) now makes sense to move him. So that is why posey is still on the team, however I would replace him, if I could, with one of the free agents listed
  9. Free agents still availible Peter Boulware-injuries, have destroyed his career Chad Brown-too old + Rocky Calmus-overhyped out of college, could be a good special teamer ++ Quinton Caver-he never got his footing in Dallas ++ Chris Claiborne-great college talent, never got his footing anywhere, played in cover two last year +++ Jay Foreman-uhhm, good ILB back up + Keith Newman-I remember thinking anyone is better than Newman, I was wrong ++ Tommy Polley-has played in the cover two, and once said he was good friends with Fletcher +++ Jamie Sharper-injuries The only two I'd consider is Polley and Claiborne, hopefully that list is correct.
  10. not an option, but the answer to your question is 15-17.
  11. i 100% agree with what you said JoeF, if Spikes is healthy he has the strength to play strongside, and with the rise in play of AC, (he is now an acronym, congrats AC) we could see Posey in a pass rushing specialist position if not released.
  12. Not a big penn state fan, however I like the kids size, he's not the quickest out there, but he could give kelsey a run for his money. I only saw him play a handfull of times, and I was watching Tamba more. However he shared an apartment with Zemaitis-who is from Rochester, little side note. Rice (6-4 1/8, 270) ran his 40s in 4.93 and 4.87. Had a 29-inch vertical jump, 9-foot-2 long shuttle jump, 4.28 short shuttle, 7.08 three-cone drill, and did 19 lifts. if you put any stock into workouts these are better than tamba Hali's
  13. We'll see the offensive line addressed next year, in free agency, OL take time, why waste a pick on a player that marv and ralph may never see play. RBs and DB get a lot of playing time early in their careers. Imagine having 20 million to spend on the top two linemen next year, it could happen.
  14. You have not heard? in the new CBA New England always gets the 2nd pick, redskins first and cowboy 3rd, followed by the NY teams. Duh!
  15. "They" would have called any team foolish for drafting ed reed before Ryan Sims, however I am sure KC wishes they could go back in time. Randy Cross hates the Buffalo bills, he always has, and this offseason he has made it even clearer. the Anti ralph crap and now this. But bring up the Pats, cowboys, NY (either team) and Pittsburgh and they (NFL radio) can't say enough wonderful things.
  16. I think that williams will beat out Anderson, he has something that Anderson doesn't have and that is strong hands. If I were the conditioning coach for the Bills i would make Anderson do some hanging cleans and hand from bars while they add weight, he can not grab and hold running backs. Williams also plays with a great base after getting into the backfield.
  17. I went into work monday telling everyone we got the better tackle from Virginia, he better not let me down or else.
  18. I think by the end of the year our defense will be clicking, if not clacking, we have a solid dime package now and a good rotation at DT. I foresee Simpson and Whitner starting safeties by week 6, yes two rookies however both are our best options, Vincent can be moved back to CB in the cover two he'll be fine, and youboty starts at nickel, but will have to fight to keep it from king and Vincent
  19. Three players i think marv should call that are not on that list Kai Parham-6'3 255 LB-poor forty but tackling machine at Virginia Spencer Havner-big and athletic William Kershaw-Maryland LB, Maryland is an exciting program all three could compete for positions, Including Posey's
  20. Nance is not that fast, more like a 4.65, however he adds height to our camp. I remember earlier in the year, he was considered by some the top senior WR. Love his height, love his production, and hopefully he comes here with the biggest chip on his shoulder and battles, his Soph year was amazing, it say a lot about his character to come back from the injury and play well.
  21. youboty may struggle, there is a reason he feel to the 3rd round. But he's a DB from Ohio state and they have a good track record. Imagine if McGee get injured and we were on monday night football (Althought we will not be) 4 times, The ohio state. Anderson, Clements, Youboty, and Whitner
  22. I agree, and he'll see time in SF
  23. click clack i was saying it in my sleep
  24. I thought we might just concern ourselves with one side of the ball, but I didn't know it was all 2ndary. Vincents days are numbered. also OL take time, where DB almost always play well early. I am now hoping for Guy Whimper in the 5th
  25. Jean-Gilles the funny thing is, some scouts feel that he sets up in pass protection better than anyone in the draft, at guard
