  1. If it were looking on the field like the Bills were incapable of winning the games they've been in, then that's when you point to the GM. That is far from being the case here as there have been some lapses by players, Offensive, and Defensive coaches at different key times thus far. And no I'm not going to go there with the "well who hired these players and coaches? " because most of them have performed before.
  2. Great post and analysis Kelly. I agree about the return. I felt like it was the best I had ever seen from the Bills. Just amazing, and when the !@#$ is the karma going to get better for this team? Geez it was like 4 on 1 and he goes down
  3. The third down defense is a concern, but the offensive play calling today was awful. The saints at no point in the first 3 quarters ever showed any sort of ability to even slow Willis down. The coaches "out-cuted" themselves on that for sure. You don't go away from something that is working so well until it gets stopped. Sometimes even then you need to keep plugging. We should all expect JP to struggle at this point, but not the play calling.
  4. I'll confirm that too today. For those that are unable to watch this game, look no further than the offensive play-calling as to why the Bills are suffering in this game. It's been horrid.
  5. You took the first one completely out of context (surprise surprise ). Listen to the audio on the official site and you will hear the full press conference, in which you will discover that he was praising the receivers and saying they should keep doing what they're doing and if they improve, it will only help JP improve.
  6. I've been waiting about 6 months now for my dad to finish it so I can read it
  7. For any within the broadcasting area, it would be well worth your while to (if you don't do so already) turn down the TV's volume and put on the FM broadcast from AVP and Murphy. Murph is smooth while AVP adds some real useful color analysis, including my favorite : x's and o's
  8. No, like I said earlier I saw Edwards as a bigger part of the problem in that game. .... Along with fatigue due to an inept Buffalo offense.
  9. It is certainly a fact that Edwards is no Pat Williams. I don't think that is what's being debated here though your point hits home. The team simply lacked the discipline that day in the scheme they were being asked to implement. It wasn't a matter of Big Sam just overcompensating for Edwards. It wasn't just the tackles either. Maybe it was wrong for Gray to expect them to implement that particular scheme. Maybe the players are at fault. But on that day it certainly was not just one player.
  10. Let it be known then (FWIW) that I do not use news publications to obtain my Bills football x's and o's information. The gap control issues in the ATL game (yes , even on the TV broadcast which is not game film) were plainly evident for anyone to see. Just look at a couple of the big gainers going past Big Sam's gap where either he, or a LB (Fletcher or Posey) would have had responsibility.
  11. NP, to clarify I should have said the Saint's running game.
  12. I understand your concept here. What I'm asking is if you watched the game because that was not the issue vs. ATL. Most of the open cutback lanes were right over Sam's left shoulder if you look at the big gainers that happened. Also, when our LB's blitz they still have a gap assignment according to Gray. So it wasn't just the D-line either.
  13. It's not Horn I worry about, or any other receiver for that matter. It's Duece McAllister.
  14. Did you watch the ATL game? Because the "gap control" theory holds a heck of a lot more water than your "single bad player" theory in that game. Adams was out of his gap just as much as Ron was, as were the Lb's who are assigned to fill certain holes. In the Tampa game I will agree that it was clearly Edwards getting pushed around quite a bit.

  16. I can understand that, as even many Bills fans felt the same way. I was initially shocked with the pick but it made sense to me because it was a pick we "Stole" from Atlanta and McGahee was a top 5 talent (if recovered) at the time.
  17. I think, though he still has flaws, he is starting to live up to that "hype" with 9 100 yd games in 14 starts and the YPC going up.
  18. Another thing is that it wasn't such a "soft" schedule til after the season was over. If I remember correctly it was the 2nd or 3rd most difficult schedule in the league based on winning percentages.
  19. Look on the same site every monday as well for comments from Marv Levy as well as coach Chuck Dickerson. I think between Kelly, Levy, and Coach D, all TBD cast types will be entertained and/or informed.

  21. Still holding tight to your Henry vs. McGahee take I see The last time we chatted about that it was only the YPC you were concerned with about him, no?
  22. Me too! I'm going to be patient with his development. I just hope, as Jim Kelly pleaded, that the fans who go to the games understand this and stay with him as well.
  23. I'm with buffOrange on this one. Plenty of plays have been called for example where the TE is open and JP is just not seeing it or getting it to him. There was also a play last week where the coverage took his pre snap read to the strong side of the field, yet Moulds was in the x position one on one and blew by his man only to stand alone near the endzone. The kid is not seeing the field yet. And I don't really blame him for this or expect him to have it all under control yet. When he rolls to his right so often, even on plays that weren't designed as such, he is shrinking the field to the point where the defense can tee off on many of these underneath routes.

  25. Optimistic about facing Seymour? No way! Of course I wouldn't have been with Jennings either..
