  1. Hackett’s clock management, including use of timeouts, leaves a ton to be desired for sure. But the lion’s share of the blame for Denver’s problems rest with Russell Wilson. Hackett has been scheming guys open all season, but Wilson either can’t find them or misses them when he does. It’s been apparent in every game this season.
  2. Bills smacked them around pretty good in the Sunday nighter in 2020, though.
  3. Gilliam can and probably will be used in a TE role at times.
  4. Thursday night football is a joke; a poor product and an affront to the football gods and for all the reasons you cite here.
  5. Of course if he’s not 100% that changes the decision making process. It remains to be seen if he comes back as good as new, but it’s not written in stone that it’s impossible simply because of his ACL injury. Post surgical prognoses just aren’t as cut and dried as they once were. One thing is for sure and that is he won’t come back until he and the team agree that it’s time.
  6. Assuming Tre is 100% when he gets back, he will replace the CB the coaches have graded lower. It’s a pretty simple process. We might think we know who has outperformed whom, but we don’t have enough pertinent info to actually grade performances. The coaches do. It could also be a matter of strictly wanting to slot Tre at his normal left CB position and he replaces whomever has been manning that side of the field.
  7. If they had any inkling that Beasley still had the chops to be that “crafty, always-open outlet for Jones” they would have done it months ago. But like I said, they both knew better that his physical skills had eroded. Plus, they had a front row seat to his two month long hissy fit around the building last year.
  8. Strongly doubt that. Daboll and Schoen both knew better.
  9. Beane has done it before in both Sammy Watkins and Ronald Darby. Strongly doubt he’d be inclined to trade any of the young DBs currently, however.
  10. Any Poyer pilfered pick off Pickett potentially portends pick6 points. Playing Poyer, Pickett perhaps pees his pants.
  11. Those are their officially listed playing weights. Unless we personally weigh every individual player, that’s what we have to go with. Not that any of it matters.
  12. I got them from the Bills roster listed on the team website. Here’s a link: https://www.buffalobills.com/team/players-roster/
  13. White is listed as only five pounds lighter than Hyde and is one pound heavier than Poyer.
  14. Nor should it be. For Tomlinson or any coach. It’s a slap in the face to every player on the team. “Well, boys. We have a delicate waif of a rookie at QB, so we are gonna just focus on his development and not worry about the wins this year.” How does anyone think that sits with the veterans on that team like Hayward, Fitzpatrick, Watt, etc. who know the deal better than anyone? You play the guy who you think gives you the best chance of winning. Full stop. And if Pickett has to take his lumps early on, he just might be better off for it in the long run. But you have to find out, regardless. The important thing for a coach is to support him when he struggles and help him to develop his game in spite of those struggles.
  15. Does he bring more than Tannyhill or Jackson? I doubt it.
  16. Indeed. And it’s the fans who I was referring to. I just don’t understand why we all wouldn’t afford opposing players the same respect for their abilities as the players do. I get that some opposing players are low character douches, but I still have to respect the skill they bring to the game. I think it’s shortsighted otherwise.
  17. IIRC, there was agreement that some contact with the knee occurred when Calloway’s hip made contact with Tre’s knee while it was in an awkward position and that contact probably lent itself to the tear. I remember some doctor opining that if Calloway hadn’t bumped the knee when it was in that awkward position, the ACL probably would have been ok. Fluky bad luck all the way around.
  18. Yeah, but at least it was at home. Then again, the half he played in his first game at Baltimore was also against a good defense with a loud crowd enjoying a blowout.
