  1. You may have to regress to a prepubescent adolescent in order to recapture that feeling. But there are plenty of athletes today who embody the same character as Clemente and Gibson. I think the A-holes get just as much attention, unfortunately.
  2. How about Risto to Edmonton straight up for Nugent-Hopkins? I’d do that.
  3. F cancer. If anyone can take it to extra innings, it’s Bob Gibson.
  4. But, but, but who else is gonna take key defensive faceoffs from the left dot?
  5. Is this a Patriot*** way thing? Might explain Brady’s camel toe.
  6. He’s more of a bigger, stronger, faster John Elway. I don’t see the Snake in him at all.
  7. I can’t agree that Flutie was banished to Canada and didn’t get a fair shake. He spent four years in the NFL and one in the USFL before heading north, after all. He had plenty of opportunities to nail down an NFL job but he wasn’t ready. And crossing the picket lines in ‘87 didn’t help his cause any, either. Tough being a QB and leading a team when half the guys think you’re a scab.
  8. "They (the Blackhawks) know what they're doing", definitely comes across as a shot. Sounds like the ungrateful, "the NHL owes me" piss ant I had him pegged to be.
  9. I agree. The idea is always to have as many great players at every position as possible. Playmaker is always a position of need, regardless of the position and playmakers tend to be the better players.
  10. Shouldn’t the question be, would they have been worse?
  11. I don’t want to say he’s fallen off that much as he still had 30 goals last season, albeit with 18 of them coming in November. The man can flat out score goals. But he doesn’t have a lot of hockey sense and doesn’t make a lot of plays for his line mates.
  12. Don’t care how many points he loses with the Beiber answer, he more than makes up for it with his Sabres answer.
  13. No thanks. Laine can score goals in streaks, but he’s a crappy hockey player. I’d rather have Ehlers.
  14. Thanks. plenzmd, much appreciated. Sounds like we got a steal. And yeah, I’d take Q’s opinion over Colliton, too. But we have a glut and some D pieces are gonna be moved. Maybe both Risto and McCabe?
  15. Head scratcher. Unless Pilut and Bogo are gonna be out longer than expected, Risto is getting moved, we need more depth in Rochester, or any combination thereof.
  16. It's a matter of competence, training, and discipline. In that order.
  17. I never had a problem with ROR's effort on a game to game basis when he was here but I give Berube all the credit in the world for finding a way to reach him to get that something extra out of him. O'Reilly was the same miserable, sulking post game baby he was here while the Blues were finding their way to last in the league in January, but he was a different player after Berube was named coach. Helped to have Binnington come in and play like an All World goalie at the time, too.
  18. Like every soccer team in history doesn’t grandstand and celebrate after scoring? Are they supposed to apologize for winning a lopsided game? Would France, UK, or Netherlands apologize if they had drawn Thailand as an opponent and trounced them? As for running up the score on an inferior team, two things: goal differential matters in this tourney, especially in the preliminary rounds, and maybe the opponent should do a better job of stopping the other team from scoring.
  19. Reminds me of that scene in ‘Airplane.’
  20. Great win by a deserving team. Made even better by the fact the opposing team was wearing orange.
  21. Don’t know. But Orton definitely heard a Suh.
  22. More like Orton hears a Suh:
