  1. He had a great game playing opposite a true #1 who was getting all of the defenses attention….leaving him matched up 1 on 1 vs below average defenders. Looks like where we differ is don’t think that having one great game = shown #1 ability. To me, that was Josh being the best player on the planet and taking what the defense gave him. Gabe played a great game, but him being a #1 never entered my mind.
  2. Great list @MrEpsYtown I haven’t looked into much yet but hope to dig in over the weekend. I found this interesting https://nfltraderumors.co/top-100-2023-nfl-free-agents-list/ scroll down to #66, you’ll see Singletary. Then look down 2 spots to #68. 🤣
  3. I like him, don’t get me wrong. I like him like I like Tremaine and Ed. Good players but not good enough to pay them what another team would. I love Poyer, but I don’t think we should pay him more than 10-11M a year. I see every player on the last year of their contract as a possible trade chip. If we don’t think we’re going to be able to afford them, trading them could be the best option. Not always the case when competing for a SB, but in hindsight (not winning the SB), trading tremaine last offseason likely would have reaped a greater benefit than by losing him in FA.
  4. I’d trade him for a 3rd. edit: he’s a 1 year rental at this point. I don’t think he’s worth the money he’ll command. He’s like a lesser Alvin Harper.
  5. The author said that Davis has shown “#1 ability”….. lol. And he gets paid to write
  6. You don’t think Bills fans are lamenting the trade up for Sammy Watkins? How about John Mccargo? Redskins trading up for RG, saints for Ricky Williams, chargers for Ryan leaf, jags for Derrick Harvey, dolphins for Dion Jordan? It’s worth it when that player works out. It backfires when that player doesn’t work out. There are plenty of cases for both sides. You don’t understand the rationale for not trading up for a RB in rd 1. You asked John a question and I gave you the answer. The price is why GMs don’t (or do) trade up. When the GM feels that the risk outweighs the reward. It’s simple business 101. We’re in a position right now, where we have several holes to fill and upgrade with limited money. I’m not against trading up for the right player, but i don’t see the value in this draft class. The value is in rd 2-5 imo. The 1st rd is relatively weak. Trading up a couple spots will cost the team a potential 4+ year starter. Beanes misses in recent years has put us in a spot where every pick matters. Late round draft picks have a lot of value if used correctly- ask Veach- drafting Williams rd 4, watson and pacheco rd 7 this year. Trey smith rd 6, sneed rd 4, danna rd 6. Do you think McDuffie was the only player that veach coveted? Do you think that was the only call he made trying to trade up? Your answer lies within. He made calls. Lots I’m sure. They couldn’t settle on compensation that each team thought was a fair. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why teams don’t execute trade ups for every player that they love. The price. the only players I’d be happy trading up for in this class are Paris Johnson, Johnston, JSN and Addison. I wouldn’t want to give up a 2nd to trade up for the WRs- even a 3rd is a bit rich. Maybe - combination of 4-5ths to move up a handful of spots. I’d trade a 3rd and a 4th next year to go get Johnson, but he’ll go way before we get to that stage of the draft.
  7. Some people need to be coddled and told that they’re beautiful
  8. Don’t be annoyed after we read all of your top shelf scouting excerpts and start using@IronMaidenBills instead of @GunnerBill when we want prospect evals for years to come. you went from an alright guy to ignore in 5 posts today. This isn’t what a Bills message board is about to 95% of us. It’s about the team. You apparently think it’s about you. It’s not. 👋🏻
  9. People have been identifying talent all offseason and will continue to do so up til and after the draft. Your lamp doesn’t change anything
  10. He had a 59M cap hit and was due 51M in 2024 prior to the extension iirc. Dude got paid and mailed it in
  11. King lamp
  12. 🤦🏻‍♂️ You don’t think every GM in the league has a guy they’re excited about? Why doesn’t every GM go get him? The rationale is easy- the price tag.
  13. Good question. Because the teams picking in the top 10 have watched the giants, cowboys and panthers accomplish nothing while drafting a RB in the top 10. The narrative has been written. I don’t think there’s any chance that he falls. Agree to disagree with an OL making more of an impact. I think drafting the OL makes sense for team building, but for impact on the next 4-5 years, i think Bijan gives them more. But looking at the actual players that we’d be drafting….I think Darnell Wright is the only OL that could have a bigger impact than Bijan.
  14. Bijan isn’t just being regarded as a Rb with a firm 1st rd grade. He’s being regarded by many as a top 3-5 player in the draft. Those aren’t the same things Edit: I understand why you don’t want him….. especially if you don’t think he’s an elite talent. To me, his agility and lateral ability for a guy with his size and explosion is what sets him apart
  15. Would you rather draft an elite level player that plays a less valuable position or draft a player with a 2nd rd grade in order to fill a need it. Which could also end up being be a position of lesser value (OG,RT,MLB, S)? I think Robinson makes a lot more sense than people think because of how good he is compared to how good the other options are. I think it’ll be a noticeable gap. And the reason why we don’t have to worry about it happening. He’ll be gone
  16. I’d prefer not to use a 1st rd pick on a RB- but this draft class changes things, especially when looking at our needs. Our biggest needs: IOL- RG is a huge hole- hopefully we move Bates back to LG. C might be a need if they cut Morse. WR- we need outside and slot help. Maybe shakir steps up and takes one of them, but either way, we still need 1-2 more WRs Could be added to the above list: MLB- if we let edmunds go. S- if we let Poyer go and Hamlin is still a ? RT- I think it’s a big need but I don’t think Beane does. Sadly, i think we’ll probably resign quess and roll with brown, quess and Doyle @ possible RT/swing. RB- if we let motor (and maybe hines) go. TE- do we want to include a higher % of 12 personnel? I love morris as a pass catcher but I think they want someone with better blocking. I hope we never see Sweeney in a bills uni again. DL- do we move on from Phillips and Lawson again? Trade Ed? Do we count on the 2nd rd bust bro DEs to improve? When will Von be back? —————- looking at the possible picks @ 27, there’s one OG that might be worth the pick (Torrance) but his skill set doesn’t really jive with what what Dorsey and Kromer do. The other OGs aren’t viewed as 1st rd picks. Drafting an OT and moving some people around along the line might be our best option. WR- there look to be 3 1st rd worthy WRs - Johnston, Addison and JSN. I don’t see any of the 3 being available when we pick. The next 10 or so WRs are of the same tier (or very close to it. Seems best to wait til rd 2-3 if we miss out on the top 3z The other positions that we may have a need for aren’t premium positions- MLB- S- RT- RB- TE. If there were a close to elite prospect available at any of those positions, i would hope we’d draft the elite player over an IOL or WR with a 2nd rd grade. Positional value definitely matters, but quality of player matters most imo. Bijan is the only mlb, s, rt, rb, te that looks to be elite. Although Antonio johnson could also make some sense. I think he’s a perfect fit. He can do it all (except create turnovers. (let’s not draft a S in rd 1 please) .
  17. Aw hell naw!
  18. For a 7th….. that’s crazy. Great trade for the Jets. I think he’s due 3.5M for one year iirc.
  19. The comparisons to White are real. That’s where the scouts have to figure out what’s inside the players heart and head. How hard will he work? Does he have the dedication to improve and be great? Will his body hold up (whites body was part of his downfall)? lots of questions surround him. Picking @27, I think the risk is worth the reward. We have a QB that can help him reach his potential. We have an alpha WR that can help groom him to be great and hopefully light a that fire.
  20. I’d rather listen to scratching on a chalkboard for hours than to listen to him. keyshawn knows how to play wr, I don’t listen to anything he says. I hope you do the same. Johnstons WR skill set is clearly behind addison and jsn. Physically, he’s on a different level and his upside is tremendous. I’d be happy with any of the 3 @27.
  21. Yeah, I feel the same about Hyatt after wanting him at first. I love the speed, but question the rest of his WR skills. Flowers I’ve come around to, but still don’t see him as a 1st rd pick. JSN or Addison would be great fits.
  22. What is happening: we traded for an elite WR that has an elite chip on his shoulder. A WR tends to react differently than most. A WR that has been outspoken in the past and hasn’t stopped since. A WR that has made it known that he won’t accept losing. we knew all of this. Nothing has changed. This is the guy that we traded for. A guy that has been a tremendous teammate, friend and leader. A guy that transformed our locker room and helped transform the team from playoff caliber to championship caliber. A guy that has had trouble dealing with his emotions in moments of defeat and pain. A guy that we know has had trouble dealing with his emotions in moments of defeat and pain. He did something that many expected him to do because that’s what he does….. it’s nothing new. It’s part of who he is. I’ve known this and accepted that that’s who Diggs is. That’s him. That’s always been him. Maybe you’re finally coming around to accepting the fact that he isn’t the perfect leader. Or maybe you already knew that but just wouldn’t feel right if you didn’t chime in with your ever present tint. He’s him. Always has been. Always will be.
  23. Considering the draft class- if Johnston, jsn and addison are all gone, Bijan would probably make the most impact. If we draft an OL, odds are, he won’t be great and will only be a slight upgrade. If we could draft an OL @27 and have him turn into an immediate top 10 at his position, I’d welcome it, but I don’t think it’ll happen. problem is- bijan will be long gone by 27
