  1. My claim that “I think elam would’ve been a 2nd round pick if we didn’t draft him” is silly? Lol. There are many analysts that didn’t see him as a first rd pick…..every mock draft that had him as a second round pick is silly? It’s a prediction…..predictions are silly then. So silly, that you shouldn’t waste your time calling them silly. Because there are predictions everywhere on message boards. meanwhile- the next CB off the board went in the 2nd round. But I’m sure the nfl GMs got their hands on The Athletics consensus 1st rd pick list and would’ve thought better than to let him slip to rd 2. O
  2. This is a thread about Elam. I just stated that I thought he was a reach when we drafted him and that I think he would’ve been drafted in rd 2 if we didn’t reach for him (maybe even slip to rd 3). I haven’t stated this opinion since we drafted him. Others then disagreed with my opinion and we’re not going back and forth with our opinions. This is what’s called a message boards. It’s what people do here. That’s not harping. You know a thing or 2 about harping. Spewing jibberish about Kincaid week in week out until we started using him more.
  3. As was Malik Willis- drafted in which round? Thanks. Yeah, I think this is implied. The more great players you hit on, the better your team.
  4. Yeah he’d be great for sure. But there were several good options and we took the worst one. A guy that looks like he’s not even worthy of a 4th rd pick. I’d really like to know who was banging the table the hardest for Elam.
  5. I thought our offense was very good in the first half. Having a 2 TD lead led McD to play more conservative and Dorsey obliged. my one dislike- I would’ve liked to see Cook receive a few of Gabes targets. He’s really good and can be great if Dorsey can align the stars. But 👍🏻 to gabe. He played one of his best games and did a lot of what we all say he can’t do. Now just be consistent. 🤣 Was happy to finally see get shakir involved. He ran hard and strong and I love him in RAC situations. Short legs mcgee can move. I’d like to see him play about the same snaps, maybe more going forward. Sherfield played the slot when shakir came out. I’d like to know the run/pass% when Sherfield was in. Did we chip with TEs or backs much? I thought our OL played pretty good overall after having 3 poor outings in a row. KINGcaid it is. He’s gonna be the man. Stay healthy kid.
  6. Breece doesn’t upset me. Jermaine Johnson, Tyler Smith and Linderbaum do. As do Pickens and Watson. I’m good with James cook
  7. I don’t agree with that. The other TEs don’t have Josh Allen. Diggs will be 32 and possibly still a star, but Kelce was the best TE in the league playing alongside Tyreek. Andrew’s has Lamar- hock has who? Laporta has…….and likely won’t have Ben Johnson. We dunno where bowers is. the last 2 best tight ends in the league belonged to the best 2 QB in the league. Josh is at least close
  8. You don’t think it’s reasonable? There’s one Kelce and, imo, he won’t be the same guy in 3 years, while Kincaid will be much better than he is now. Andrew’s could be the best at age 31…..then again, there’s a reasonable chance (imo) that Kincaid surpasses him by then. Hockenson, Laporta, Bowers. Maybe one of those guys beats him out, but maybe not. He’s looked dam good and will only get better. That sideline catch he made last night was top tier. I’d agree that it’s not “likely” that he’s becomes the best due to the sheer numbers of other TEs and their chances to improve. It’s most definitely reasonable imo.
  9. You should reconsider starting threads. Better off just posting your opinion on one of the other stupid threads
  10. I’ve been asking for it for years, although I wouldn’t want on field officials just for game flow. I think they should be able to throw flags too. They should communicate the infraction in their mic and the eye in the sky can take a quick look to see if it’s legit, while also allowing the eye to throw flags on egregious penalties that were missed. ot becomes touchy because we don’t want too many penalties called. We just want legit penalties called correctly. Less mistakes. The ability to overrule terrible calls or throw a flag on egregious missed calls
  11. He was a top 5 corner according to the many. Some others didn’t have him top 5. I think most had him pegged as a high-mid 2nd rd pick. I saw the 22 CB draft class like this: 2 top tier prospects in sauce and Stingley. McDuffie being the next best guy but was he good enough to play outside. Gordon and Mccreary limited in size/length. Elam and booth physically gifted- one with injury concerns, the other just not very good his last year in college. Martin Emerson and woolen- both with elite height, weight, length, hand size. Woolen with the elite speed while emerson with better skills. Other than the top 2- I wouldn’t have been surprised if any lf other guys would’ve been taken over the others. I thought McDuffie had the makings of an elite slot guy and I figured he’d be next off the board, but after that, they were a toss up. i would’ve failed and taken Booth, Gordon, Emerson and Woolen over Elam. I didn’t like Elams tape. I only liked his press ability, height and speed. He has small hands and borderline short arms.
  12. You’re certainly entitled to feel that way. He was more bad than good in his last season in college. Josh Norman is better than him according to our staff. Some people had first rd grades on: Jalin Hyatt- 3rd Kelee Ringo- 4th Dawand Jones- 4th Some had Drew Sanders and Trenton Simpson going rd 1, high rd 2. They went rd 3. It happens every year. And it’s not as if Elam was a consensus 1st rd talent. He was not. Agree to disagree that slipping to rd 3 is farfetched. I don’t think it’s likely that he fell to rd 3. I also don’t think it was likely that Elam would’ve been taken in the first round if we didn’t take him. again- it’s subjective. How do you feel about a player. I didn’t think Elam was very good. We’re about to find out how other teams think of him now. Trade deadline in a few days. There should be some teams that loved him as a 1st or 2nd rd prospect willing to give up a pick for him.
  13. I know you’ll never change your ways indefinitely. Thought it may have been a momentary lapse 😘
  14. I’m not saying he was likely to be drafted in the 3rd round. I’m saying it’s not that far fetched that he could have been. It’s also not far fetched that it was a reach trading up for him and drafting him @ 23. I hated it at the time. I hate it even more now. I haven’t given up on him yet, but Josh freakin Norman got the nod over him. Everyone evaluates differently. A reach to one evaluator might not be a reach to another. Again, it’s all subjective. Elam sure looks like a reach @ 23 to me.
  15. “A reach” is subjective on who you talk to. I thought he was considered a reach 💯 I was furious with the pick. The only reason I was somewhat on board with the pick was I because I was hoping we’d start being more multiple on defense and mix in more man and press. He was coming off a poor season at Florida in which he was very handsy and was poor in run support.
  16. I agree with the play calling- I wasn’t a fan of it in the 4th either. I was a fan the majority of the game. Spreading the ball out in the pass game. Shakir 6 (6)- 92 Davis 9 (12)- 87-1 Diggs 9 (12)- 70 Kincaid 5 (7)- 65- 1 thats the offense we’ve been waiting for (I have anyway). Would’ve liked to see Cook a few more targets in the pass game but overall, I think we should be happy. We’ve gotten off to horrible first halves the last few weeks. Our offense dictated the game in the first half and was clicking. The cohesiveness we haven’t seen since the Miami game was there.
  17. Meh, we don’t need Breece Hall. I’d rather have Tyler smith, Tyler linderbaum, jermaine Johnson, Pickens or Watson. everyone wanted woolen after rd 3
  18. A couple firsts tonight! -Kincaids first TD (.5 yard from 2 TDs and a tipped pass away from 3) -me applauding you for not being “that guy”. 👍🏻
  19. Here’s the question: what’s the downside of doing this? Regarding the game- there is no downside. Zero. Every time we DON’T do this is a wasted opportunity. Sure, the chances are slim….but the chances are ZERO if we just line up and punt. Slim chance > zero chance. This also could help us convert a first in future if/when we do decide to go for it. Every team has to realize by now that McD has a tendency to try and draw offside more than most teams. Realizing this could eventually backfire if/when we actually do go for it as fans, the downside is….it’s 2023 and everyone is impatient. We have to wait an extra minute or so til we punt.
  20. Sounds a lot like Mahomes and the KC offense last season. Kc having Reid rather than Dorsey is a major advantage, but you have to BE ABLE to take what the D gives you. That’s what teams gave KC all last season and they took it all the way to a championship. Dorsey just needs to figure some things out and our OL has to continue to play like they did tonight.
  21. Like everything else in the world…. Context matters. When were the points scored? What was the score when we punted? 25 1st downs. 7/13 on 3rd. Our top 4 pass catchers all had very good games. Our RB1 averaged 4.8 ypc and looked pretty darn good (again). Our interception was tipped up and caught by a DT. The Bucs had one legit scoring drive and it was aided by 2 4th down penalties, a push off (the TD to evans would’ve hit Benford in the back of head if he wasn’t pushed) and a tipped pass for lucky 2 pt conversion. We didn’t finish drives in the 2nd half because our D was holding their O them in check and punting > possibly gaining their O a short field. And Martin was having a helluva game
  22. Not scoring the final few drives sucks for sure but McD played it according to the context of the game. Punting on 4th and 2’s that we’ve seen him go for time after time in recent years…..we were up 2 scores and our defense was stopping their offense. Other than Josh gifting them a TD on that int, their offense couldn’t do much. I think we would’ve gone for it and likely succeeded if we went for them and also scored more points. Our offense looked very good and we should all be very happy with their performance tonight.
  23. Shakir in the slot and Kincaid TE1. >>>>> Kincaid in the slot and Knox TE1 Shakir >>>>> knox in the passing game. It’s not even close.
  24. 4 targets he hasn’t caught all season 2 tipped at the LOS by DL 1 broken up by DB before it got to him 1 in the end zone thrown into double coverage and hit immediately on an off target pass throw him the ball. Please You’d be happy if he were top 10? Sheeesh. If he only makes the top 10, we need new a new OC
