It's both a compliment and an insult. It speaks to one's ability to get people to engage with their content - usually in the form of a controversial or outrageous take. I applied it to your thread here mostly because of the all-capped "NOW" implying that holding a team to 19 points and less than 300 yards was some sort of five alarm fire situation. I think you're wrong on the "hot seat" notion, but I do share concerns with you about the defense holding up against better teams and I would have preferred to see them dominate against the Fins and Saints at home the way they did in New Jersey. I think it's mostly execution on the part of a young secondary and missing some key players in the middle, but could McDermott calling plays lead to a better performance? Maybe. Or maybe even probably given McD's track record. We are only four games into the season and the D hasn't cost us a game yet, so I'll exercise patience for now. We have a few decent tests sprinkled in over the next six weeks (Pats, Chiefs, Bucs) and should have a better idea of where we stand then.

I think they still win 10 games minimum and that will win them that division.

10 pages in 24 hours. Kudos to OP. This is top level engagement farming. And no. Babich isn't on any hot seat after holding all of our opponents to sub-300 yards the past three weeks.

I agree with everything here, but I do think there's sideline opportunities for us if and when we need them. I think we've been content to dump off and nibble chunks of the middle of the field over the past three games, since those were essentially "limit mistakes and let the inferior opponent lose the game" type of matchups.

9/28/2025 Bills vs Saints 1st half game thread

Man oh man, that Cook deal is looking like a bargain right now. -
What's wild is that Cleveland had their pick of any of those top 4 and now they're starting Joe Flacco while the Big Four are thriving for other teams. That's got to sting. Same thing for the Jets to a lesser extent.

I like Goff. He's a great pocket passer than can do damage when he has time to throw. The reason he's overlooked is because he has zero ability to run or make off-script plays. There was a 3rd and 5 last night in the second half where he steps up in the pocket and has room to run, but realizes he doesn't have the speed to pull it off and he tries to make a short off-platform throw and he doesn't get it anywhere near the open outlet receiver. That play epitomized why he'll never be considered in the top tier of QBs.

I think Lamar is a fantastic QB, a future hall-of-famer, and it's only a matter of time before he wins the Super Bowl (same as Josh). I love how both he and Josh have surpassed expectations and defied the stereotypes that some people tried to hang on them. Yes, Lamar isn't the most telegenic or charismatic guy and that's probably why you don't see him in a ton of commercials. I'm sure him not having an agent doesn't do him any favors either. But, again, he's a great player and seems like a good dude, so I don't understand why some need to constantly deride him.

Picked that up in the team store this summer. I never noticed the genitalia. Thanks for pointing that out.

Sorry, the "cakewalk" was referring to this week, but I wasn't clear. The Pats game should be a tough one. Not sure about the Falcons.
-
Cakewalk city. Looking forward, we should be 7-0 heading into the KC game. Win that one and we've nearly sewn up the #1 seed by week 9.

I'm with you. The only upside with Bass is that he's younger and has a stronger leg. I was generally okay with him based on him having redeemed himself a bit last year, but I absolutely feel more comfortable with Prater for everything inside of say 52-53 yards.

Tre didn't look as bad to me as people are saying. He didn't really stand a chance on most of those quick timing throws. I think we were just paying them a ton of respect and didn't want to lose the game on a big play, but suffered a death by a thousand cuts on a couple of those drives. Reminded me of the Bengals playoff game. Though, like you allude to, it does raise the question whether they schemed that way because Tre stood even less of a chance if they put him closer to the LOS.

Yeah, the Jackson pick is concerning. The guy just looks too stiff for the NFL. Not sure what can be done with him, but I'm thinking he needs at least an entire year of work before there's any hope of him seeing meaningful playing time.
-
Seriously, what does "accountability for McD" even look like outside of firing him? The guy has won 5 straight division titles and taken us to the playoffs in 7 of 8 years after inheriting an organization that hadn't made the playoffs in 17 years. He's made changes at OC, DC and ST coordinator over the years in an effort to make us better and get us over the hump - it's not as if he isn't aware or trying to address issues as they arise. Trust me, I wish he was perfect too, but we need to be realistic, the guy has built something special and ain't getting fired absent some type of complete collapse and likely multiple missed postseasons. So, for everyone that hates the guy and wants him gone, then I guess you should wish for that outcome.

To be fair, Bass was good last season and delivered in the big moments. Having said that, I still don't trust him.

I was referring to the desperate 50 yard heaves into triple coverage that we started to see all too often under Dorsey, not the occasional risky throw to sustain a drive. As for your other point, how often have we lost playing said efficient, turnover free football since Brady took over? I mean, we've lost like 4 regular season games (not counting the finale) in nearly 1.5 years. I wouldn't say any of them were because our offense was too conservative.
-
That was my initial thought. Guy had been hitting a fade and then he's facing the tee shot that demands the draw. Hit one like that yesterday at Torrey. Lol

It took a while, but Tua Turnthaballova finally showed up!!

Accurate, quick decision maker, but immobile and a complete noodle arm. Paying Dan Marino money for Chad Pennington talent. -
9/18/25 GAMEDAY Bills vs Dolphins Gameday Thread TNF

Rarely feel this way, but I think the Bills steamroll the Fins tonight. Just a hunch. Not sure where to drop this, but Alaina posted a nice little article about Josh on ESPN this morning: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/42445869/buffalo-bills-josh-allen-new-perspective-2025-season -
He was good in 2020, but generally mediocre in this regard (and INT%) from 21-23. He's been elite since Brady took over as OC.
-
I think it's Josh. We still see way too many plays that don't spring a free receiver where Josh has to hold the ball too long or scramble around. In the past he might have chucked it into trouble. Now he's taking a few yard run or opting for an easier outlet.
