  1. How many OL does a team typically keep? 10? I think Feliciano and Long are locks, and the rest of the guys are fighting for the remaining three slots. I think the "pro's pro" (what everyone should say when referring to Gore, lol) is a lock. I think Murphy (DL) is a lock.
  2. Much like the negative nincompoops who keep poo-pooing any optimistic viewpoints! See, this IS fun!
  3. I'll take "words I never expected to read on TSW" for $1000, Alex...
  4. Corrected for accuracy. And I don't. I'm having a lot of fun with this. You should try it!
  5. So get your sports from a jock like me, who knows what it's like to have a groin injury. A g-g-groin, injury.
  6. The no huddle offense is too quick for Trentative. He needs time to take a look downfield, panic, and then dump the ball off.
  7. Oh, just you wait until he forgets to preserve a timeout to use in the 4th quarter. All hell will break loose!
  8. Singletary. I think he could be special.
  9. Are there any Bills fans here who don't want to win? What I'm talking about is a difference in perspective -- you can be a skeptic about everything you read and see and expect the worst, or you can look for positive signs and not remain in the past. I'm not "worried" about being disappointed by the Buffalo Bills -- if I was, I'd have given them up a long time ago.
  10. Is it "wrong" to be skeptical? Of course not. It's just not very much fun. I like fun. A bowl of mushy peaches doesn't sound like fun.
  11. "I'll believe it when I see it. McD still thinks you don't need offense to win in this league and is happy winning 17-13." -- anonymous poster whose name rhymes with "got flaw"
  12. Tolbert up the middle frequently gained solid yardage. Dennison is to blame for the play calling that sent Tolbert out wide.
  13. I view the strength of an OC to be getting the most out of what he has to work with, and my recollection is that Dennison was an "I'm going to play my scheme regardless of who is out there" kind of guy -- who can forget the wide runs with Tolbert? I don't disagree that the offensive talent outside of Shady was abysmal -- but as you state, the OL was significantly better. In any event, trashing Daboll based upon the 1st half of 2018 is uncalled for, in my opinion. I completely agree that he should and will be judged upon how the offense performs this season.
  14. Allowing Mike Gillislie to get away.
  15. I can't even count how many times you have said this or something similar in your recent posts. Do you think stating this means you should be considered more "objective" or something? Jesus, man, lighten up. It's a freaking game. You moan and groan about how Bills fans "settle" and how wrong you used to be for being optimistic -- talk about becoming a Debbie Downer. And you're doing this at a time during which nearly everyone objectively believes the right FO is finally in place and doing the things necessary to build a consistent winner. Dennison was terrible. We all saw it in the play calling. Tyrod was never the answer. And using the start of 2018 as a criticism of Daboll is disingenuous. Allen got snaps with mostly the 3rd string and they started the season with Peterman! Do you truly, objectively, not see a difference in the way the offense functioned before and after Allen's injury? Daboll has come up through the ranks having been around a lot of good coaches. Your assessment is biased by your insatiable desire to prove you are not a homer -- which is odd.
  16. I mean, who isn’t? There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of a big Schatz. ? Anyway, I think you and I basically agree - perhaps you phrased it more eloquently but this is what I meant when I called Allen an analytics unicorn.
  17. Oh, Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick. This is just DeMaurice covering his @ss and advising agents to, you know, do their jobs and actually provide some financial advice to their 20-something year old CLs who have never seen money like this before. It would be irresponsible not to tell players there is a "possible" work stoppage since the CBA ends after the 2020 season, but by no means do I read this letter to suggest Smith thinks there will be a stoppage.
  18. The Jets have talent on their roster but the front office is a mess and I absolutely believe Gase is trash as a HC. He is certainly no leader of men. I think the first game of the season will be much more difficult for the Bills than the last, as by then I think the Jets will be in full revolt mode.
  19. Welcome to the "I need to be right" era. This is why, in my opinion, @GunnerBill is one of the top five contributors to this board. First of all, he puts a tremendous amount of time and effort into his opinions and analysis -- you know he's not simply talking out his @$$. He has posted things I don't agree with, but get this -- he actually acknowledges differing opinions and never demeans those offering them. And further, he actually admits when his analysis may not have been the correct one! So many posters in this forum (and in the media) could learn a thing or two by looking at the way Gunner conducts himself.
  20. "but even when it doesn't suck any more I will remind you that it should have been done differently and really, it still sucks."
  21. Really encouraged to hear that Daboll spoke to Jordan Palmer prior to Josh going back to him this offseason. Bills really using that "non-coach" situation to their utmost advantage.
  22. I think John Elway the GM would schitt himself if he could have Josh Allen on his roster.
  23. Meh, you just don't get it (or don't want to). Josh exhibits all of the qualities one would want to see in a successful NFL QB -- literally the only knock is that he didn't complete enough passes in college. And you keep failing to see that I didn't say he will be great, just that from what I've seen he has a better than 50% chance of being successful.
