  1. I wouldn't use taylor's first half stats from washington as a negative. He had like 50 yards rushing. Woods dropped what i thought was a pretty well thrown ball, as did hogan. We also had a 3rd and 4 - with a false start on hogan. Next 2 drives our line was getting manhandled - not a lot of time and Roman isn't exactly running quick slants. -- as an aside, I'd like to note that roman takes forever getting plays and players in. We never have time for pre-snap adjustments. I absolutely hate this aspect of his offense. Final drive of the half we finally have 0 penalties or disaster plays. We get to the 1 and Roman forgets what we do well, and what Wash does well. We don't score. Taylor gets 1 shot on 4th and goal with a corner fade? That's just... stupid.
  2. I agree that we should draft one early. My definition of Early is round 2 or 3 though. I'm not wasting a 1st round pick on 2nd/3rd round talent again when its clear we need a guy who can actually contribute on day 1. The fact that we never draft them, and always trot out everyone's castoffs is alarming. Jeff Tuel? Why?!! Thad Lewis? Did we honestly think he'd be good? Tyrod has for sure done enough to get the job next year - that is 100% clear. Hopefully he develops and becomes what we need him to be. But the old guard is gone, and the new guard needs to be constantly planning for the future.
  3. We won 3 really close games last year (Bears in OT, Lions Game, Vikings game) and got a free one at NE. This year - we have lost several close games. Bounces and injuries have not gone our way this year.
  4. I can't blame it all on rex's scheme. Just can't. Good players are good no matter what you have them do. Zone blitzing is great when it works. When it doesn't, i guess lets all blame the coach or something, for not motivating players who should be motiviated to win. Its crap excuses from the coaches on down. My guess? The defense is lazy, and not getting enough work in on film study.
  5. Agree with most of the points - They have an atrocious offense. And their goal is to just hammer the ball into hopkins and hope for the best. Their RBs are poor, QBs are worst in the league. And yet they win the games they're supposed to win. Their Defense is fierce, and they play to that strength. That alone has kept them in the conversation.
  6. TT and Watkins seem to be the leaders on this offense. Now we need some leaders on the defense. Typically it's not the guys screwing up - soooo hughes???
  7. I thought he looked pretty good yesterday. Not great - but pretty good. You can put yourself in the conversation with pretty good QB play. Don't stop looking for a great one - but don't hamstring the rest of your roster by reaching for guys using your valuable picks. Find mid round guys you like and grab them - keep grabbing them until one sticks. The lack of continuity is going to destroy this kid though, so it won't matter.
  8. He owns an NFL franchise... aka a license to print money. He'll be alright.
  9. Looking at numbers... probably not. They'll probably both be there in the end. No one actually plays in these things anymore.
  10. Right there with ya... He's in a lame duck status though for sure. We don't have the makings of a winner next year either.
  11. The fact that we wanted to run 5 wide... and had 2 starters who were UDFAs - just amazes me.
  12. Probably Tyrod? I mean - Brady wont play, Dalton probably won't. Big Ben and Rivers probably won't want to play. Gotta play someone, why not tyrod?
  13. Personally - I'm more confident in him than anyone we've had back there since probably Kelly. He's still got to figure out the 2 minute offense - and just lining up faster in general. But that may be a product of micro managing and the offensive coordinator. Who knows - but i do see a guy who is a natural leader and doesn't seem to panic. Seems to have some grit to his game as well. To work on though: 2 minute offense, throwing people open, getting a better feel in the pocket for pass rushers, using the middle of the field more.
  14. No... I'm used to it. The second Brady had his suspensions lifted I thought "well there goes any shot at the division".
  15. just looked it up. 2002. He was the guy pennington juked into the endzone.
