Honestly, with the lack of playmakers - and knowing you would prefer to not have tyrod get injured. Why not bring in EJ for some read option packages. Can even have tyrod run some routes out there in a couple quick package plays.

TBD Parking at Hammers for NE GAME. SIGN UP
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to mead107's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My wife's family is coming up. All from Mass. All pats fans. Gonna be brutal after the game. I just hope there are no issues. We've been good the last 2 times. My wife had a beer dumped on her once, and someone asked me why I married a pats fan... My response: We got married in August, there wasn't a game that day. -
Anyone want Spiller over Bush?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since we need receivers... no. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed if i recall. That diminishes his upside in a limited role. -
Antonio Brown's only 5'10, and he catches everything. So obviously exceptions. But I get where you're coming from.
-
Probably why when we had fitz they went with nelson in the slot instead of a smaller guy. And probably why the jets have the biggest WR crew - probably ever. Nelson was not fast, but quick enough and a huge catch radius and solid hands. He was actually a pretty good find until injuries caught up to him. We added Salas for that kind of role, but he obviously got hurt so we're left with this group of turds.

Id just prefer small to be like... quick like an edelman/woodhead/sproles/dion lewis type. They move the chains. This guys a home run threat but not much else.

Lets be honest... Goodwin probably sucks. He's fast not quick. He's not fast out of cuts and breaks, runs very straight up, isn't physical, and isn't shifty. His role was to be out there for a few snaps a game to take the top off the defense, but he can't be your number 1 receiver. He legit doesn't have the ability to do so.
-
Goodwin's catch percentage per target is absurdly low. It's so much lower than every other player on the team, that I'm fairly convinced he sucks. Maybe he's not dropping passes, but him and TT are not on the same page at all.

To the Posters of TSW, I apologize
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think my biggest issue with some of the TT detractors is that we really don't have another solution. By saying this - it's assumed I'm just OK with mediocrity and lack of development. I'm not trying to say that at all. I think the biggest key for this team in all honesty is getting even better on defense. If we can stop backs while playing coverage's and not stacking the box, we'll win the field position battle and be able to win by running the ball - sort of a denver/seattle strategy. Do I think it sets us up for long term success? Maybe not. But we have Rex Ryan as a head coach, and he needs to make his defense as strong as possible. I think Whaley also tried to address defensive shortcomings in the offseason, while seeming to gloss over issues at offensive positions - Wide receiver being chief among them. I think with a healthy receiving corps, we have everything we thought we would need on the offensive side of the ball. The depth was weakest at that position, so of course that is where all our injuries occurred. TT has shortcomings for sure (many of them)- and we need him to work on them. But this team is built to have a top 10 defense to win games, and to take care of the ball. So far, not so good on the defensive side. Great defenses don't take weeks off. -
Dion Lewis practicing

Except Brady eats the cleanest diet in the world, while orton dips on the sidelines and pounds jack and cokes after the game. -
Bills elevate WR Ed Eagan to active roster

I think it was fairly clear we needed someone who can run quick routes and get open. Help move the sticks. -

Dez Lewis was drafted - and is under contract for super cheap. His issue seems to be drops. However, he has possible future upside so we may as well keep him. He isn't hurting the team on our PS. Boykin and Little also have issues with drops. They were on vet minimum 1 year try out deals and were able to be released for little to no issue. -
Positional Needs For DraftTek - Astro
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know who's who regarding safeties, but i see it as an issue. Duke and Meeks have gots to GAAAO. And Graham looks like a cap casualty. Blanton doesn't seem to thump much, and Aaron Williams is like - all we have at the position. I'm not saying get a weddle/byrd huge contract, but that position needs some depth. Maybe Revis wants to make the switch...? Anyone with some Rex experience? As I assume from Pegula's interview that he intends to stay the course with this staff. -
WEEK 7 - ALL 22 O-LINE/ QB UNFORCED ERROR REVIEW

The goodwin one looked vastly different from this angle - i thought it was high when i watched it live, but the gif looks like its a bit more behind than high. And CBS so... no replays. -
Torrey Smith on the block
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. I like Wright and think he'd be good here, but I don't like making a trade at this point. If the chemistry isn't there it just doesn't work. You don't see a ton of NFL trades mid-season because of playbooks. It takes a few games to get a feel for your teammates in Hockey/Basketball. Baseball is the same no matter what team you're on. Footballs a whole different game. Part of why edelman is so good is that he and brady think the same. He knows where he's going on the option route every single time. -
Torrey Smith on the block
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rhythm passer, disrupt routes at the LOS to mess with his timing. Force him to go deep which is low percentage. Stack 8 and shade the safety to the deep side, use stunts to generate pressure and use the ends to maintain contain on the outside. Throws to the sideline a lot because timing/chemistry isn't as important. Doesn't trust his eyes. Doesn't trust his receivers. Solid arm strength, very dangerous on the run. Oh and he's short with a relatively low release point - get hands in his face. -
Torrey Smith on the block
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is most likely why Salas won the job. QBs like a guy who gets open, and is where you want him to be when you want to throw the ball. Precision in routes is important because the throw is the same every time. -
Torrey Smith on the block
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can you verify that receivers are running the right routes? Breaking at the correct depth and time? Lining up on the right side of the field? Who was the primary read? Was the primary changed at the line? Not trying to get into a big argument here, but film's only as good as knowing what we called and what may have been adjusted before the snap. -

We do have 2 5th's though. And we'll likely get a comp pick for bradham. -
We need a Stafford-like QB
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People act like he got laid out or something... he fell awkwardly and hit his head. Yeah - unless you're wrong and he's not stafford. And he's tannehill, locker, gabbert, ponder, sanchez, freeman, or god forbid Jamarcus. Every armchair GM solution - throw picks at it until it works. That's a great solution as a fan, but when you're an actual GM - you can't do that. You will get fired. -
he's essentially a slot receiver at this point. He made a nice play on a slant route early in the game, but we got away from that for whatever reason. Also - thats an incredibly small sample size to gauge anything. They came to play the last 2 weeks, and sleep walked through their first 5 games. When you have a motivated Suh and Mario, they are good players.

We need a Stafford-like QB
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was the first overall pick.... Soooo Are you suggesting we trade 3 firsts for the 1st overall pick? We had 29 first downs a week ago with Shady and Woods. They gameplanned to stop him. We need to gameplan to unleash TT in situations where he is legit our best offensive weapon, instead of playing into what they're doing. -
They also spent a 1st rounder on another QB project. TOTALLY didn't panic. This is what i see happening. We won't bottom out to the point where we can add a top dog. I'd like to see us bring someone else in, but who knows? Cardale might be good, I don't watch bills practices so I can't really say.

We'd have to send some salary for next year back in the trade though
