  1. They also have Alfred blue and Chris polk at running back.
  2. It's supposed to be 30 degrees, possibly snowing - and probably windy. Ideal conditions for a QB like fitz to have a meltdown game. And for them to have to rely on their running backs - who are both injured. I don't expect it honestly - but dont be surprised if it happens and they blow it.
  3. This defense requires 3 safeties for a lot of the game. I don't like him in the box, but his biggest problem was always finding the ball - playing safety up top will hide this since he'll be able to read it much earlier. Plus - pay cut? Yes pleeeease!
  4. I'm not sure we even go after a darby type if we keep running Schwartz D. Schwartz was a ton of zone, with backers filling in those gaps in the running game. Leodis is actually a pretty good zone corner - while darby seems to prefer man coverage. Also, if people played this crappy in Schwartz scheme, we'd look even worse. We'd give up like 200 yards rushing per game if we tackled this poorly in a wide 9.
  5. Yeah - gets rid of the speculation. From that perspective its a good announcement... even if unpopular.
  6. For our team - TT. For Denver BO. Same offensive coordinator - another year gelling with your receivers etc. This kind of stuff goes a long way. Denver could use upgrades at RB, we could use some upgrades at WR. Had a perfect QB rating in his last start before we got rid of him too.... 7. Looking at his drafts, there are some impact players here and there. The trade up for losman was a huge mistake. I remember really wanting to trade to 9 for Big Ben. He just looked like a quarterback, and losman never did.
  8. So many injuries vs. a virtually healthy team. People must still not believe in fitz
  9. If the weather is lousy - this game can sway either way. It'll play to each teams strength - us running, and them stopping the run. Could be interesting to watch at least. Also covers up our biggest weakness in defending downfield passes. But stops our big plays on offense and stacks the box. Could be a messy one. Hopefully if we can get a lead, roman just puts his foot on the gas and keeps at em. We have let leads slip away all year long trying to get cute.
  10. I like hughes - he gets hurries and pressures. He also takes much better angles on his rushes than mario does - doesn't get caught up field as much.
  11. i feel like all of the best bills defenses were 3-4. I know its more of a nickel now anyway. We play NE twice a year - they roll 2 TE and pass 40 times a game. The leagues weird now and you cant really say 3-4, 4-3 since you have a 3rd corner on the field more than half the game. We do need safeties who can move though. Were constantly subbing them in and out, because none of them can do everything. In fact, several of them can do nothing well.
  12. I think the circumstances would be a team decimated by injuries...
  13. We're substituting because we don't have 3 down linebackers. Maybe 1. And we have no real safeties with coverage skills. Add those 2 and we don't need to substitute all the time and can play hurry up with anyone.
  14. The setting the edge argument is crap. There's no way on a 3rd and 9 that he's being asked to do that. Hes just getting single teamed, and handled easily. He's not as good as he thinks he is.
  15. TT looks like he could be legit. The 3 backs we have are better than any of the ones we had before. Some of our depth guys can play - others cant. Watkins looks like hes turning into more of a matchup problem.
  16. Meh - we'll probably have him next year. I've just resigned myself to that fact. My complaining about it won't change it, so try and look at silver linings.
  17. Eh - they have a strong O-line and running game. I'm fine with making him beat us. Which he didnt do.
  18. Thats Roman - he has TEs in motion before every play. I'm sure it helps on pass plays, but if we just hurry up and run a quick read option we'll probably score. If we don't we can just call Timeout.
  19. I'm not. I'm saying... what did he do today that was so egregious? I didn't think he had a particularly bad game. Yes Kellen Moore is bad, but so are brooks/butler/Rambo/Meeks/Duke. Then Dareus went down? Yikes. I thought Roman's clock issues arose again, but i thought even he did a pretty good job considering who we have to trot out at WR, TE, and RB. There will be plenty of time to complain about rex on every thread out here. But with regards to THIS game - what did he do that offended you so much? (The title of the thread is: a few thoughts about the game in no particular order)
  20. Probably. Even overpaid QBs rarely get cut. His cap number wasn't severely hamstringing us. It was a money move. They didn't want to keep paying him to be mediocre. Do i think he'd be starting for us today if we didnt cut him? no. He probably would have been cut a year later or something.
  21. Don't cut him - he'll sign with a contender. I say take him off the gameday roster.
  22. Man people hate Rex. We did win... On to ny. I want to beat them and kick them out of the playoffs. Next season is next season, we still have another game. Not sure who's playing receiver, but Watkins is going to need to have his best game. And Tyrod is gonna have to be on his game. Too. We'll probably get beat, but we're a bottom tier team with the roster as it stands now. I'd like to see players rally and have a great game for their own pride.
