Mario is as good as gone - we have players we'd rather keep and he's incredibly pricey. And yes - its too late. There are a ton of weak spots and we're going to lose a few more people.

He's one of the few vocal leaders on the team and in the locker room. He's very athletic for a guy his size. He's been here his whole career. And he can fit into the defense both as a 3rd down NT, and a 5 technique DE. I would not get rid of him unless we had to.

The idea is to keep teams in long 3rd down situations. And get off the field quickly. When we're stuck on the field for long drives we've struggled. I think the substitution issues are a big thing - and preston brown not being able to handle being the play caller. He isn't communicating with the team well, and no one knows whats going on. You blame the coaches - but you're out there as the captain on the D. Step it up. As for the pass rush - were rushing 4, were blitzing - and no ones getting there to make plays consistently.

There's setting the edge, and theres loafing into the running lane. If the back decides to take it outside - does anyone have confidence in mario making the tackle?
