  1. I think if they were worse it may be an option - but he's currently Wentz favorite target. I'd try and keep my rookie QB happy if it were me. Having 3 receivers on the PS also makes me think we're trying to have guys ready should someone go down.
  2. I think barring a bunch of injuries, we likely roll with what we have. We added hunter, and we have people on the PS if we need them. We already have no 4th (Ragland trade) and no 7th pick this year (we do have the extra 5th from the cassell trade). I don't think we do much at the deadline. The draft is how you stay under the cap, and stay relevant year in year out. Losing a 3rd round pick trading for a receiver we can't re-sign just costs us a contributor next year. Is trading him for a 3rd that much better than what they get in compensatory picks if he walks? Maybe a little bit, but none of the front office will be around to use it if they hit rock bottom. And you lose the option of re-signing him.
  3. We just up fronted him so much money to sign. Spread that over a few years of cap hits and you're absolutely stuck with the guy.
  4. You can't. Ud go over the cap this year. You can't even really trade him next year either... the cap hit is higher than just keeping him
  5. Why would they trade Jeffrey? They can tag or extend him and he's young.
  6. I like the rotation of people we use. PB/ZB seem to play mike/will the whole game even when we switch to a nickel - i think humber is probably relegated to teams/primary inside backup. Spikes has seemed to be playing run downs - and more against running teams. Lawson may take some of these snaps away. Other than that the d-line rotation will probably just add dareus in for a good half of the snaps to start. Not sure, but i think someone ends up on IR to make room for Shaq.
  7. I'd like to see PI just changed. Reduce it to 15 yards - if under 2 minutes - you get all the time back on the clock and the offending team is charged a team timeout if they have one and it is under 4 minutes or something like that.. So if its a big 40 yard play with like 40 seconds left and you grab him, you don't get 40 yards of field position - you get 15 and the same 40 seconds. Wouldn't it suck if you had 1 timeout left in a 17-17 game and your corner got called for PI and you lost that timeout? Yes - yes it would. Hopefully discouraging people from doing it late in the game.
  8. I'd say lorax will lose some snaps. We play a lot of nickel, and Shaq is a good fit for the other end of a nickel with Hughes. I'm sure he'll still play the majority though
  9. I think he's just coaching better on both sides of the ball. Calling the plays isn't what makes a team. Need to have a pulse of everything going on
  10. I like how she threatened to kick his ass if he comes to buffalo... yeah buffalo!!
  11. I'm surprised it took us this long to try and establish this identity. The "its a passing league" opinion ignores the fact that there are about 10 players who have excellent QBs. We are trying to buck that trend and run a ground/pound offense, which makes sense when you look at our QB situation. But that isn't without looking at modern college offenses, and taking some cues from what they do. Triple option and zone read are fantastic because they make players choose. A LBer who chooses to contain TT is basically blocked by him since he's out of the play. A backer who cheats to get Tate on the pitch, misses TT because he made the wrong choice. Obviously this can backfire if we choose wrong as well, but we practice these exchanges every day, they just gameplan for buffalo. Who's more likely to mess up?
  12. I still think they are doing combo coverages in the secondary, and throwing a weird look at a QB once in a while is a nice way to mess with their rhythm.
  13. It's not the smartest argument. But if we go 4-0 in the NFC, and 9-7 overall. We will likely lose a tiebreaker to another 9-7 team. Obviously win's are better than losses - and winning these games is the only way we get to that scenario.
  14. I think Lynn is going to get him the ball. That seems to be his MO. Get the best players the ball. If he's our best weapon, get him the ball. If it's screens, bombs, or slants and posts, we're going to look his way. He played more snaps than that i think. I was at the game so it was hard to differentiate him and powell (19 vs 17), but they both seemed to struggle with whoever was the corner on tyrods left.
  15. Watching the game - Powell wasn't open very much.
  16. He doesn't have the thump that karlos had, but that was also what largely got karlos hurt. He has a really nice second gear that seems to catch people off guard as he runs right by them.
  17. I think they're adjusting a bit more to the current NFL. We like to come out in 46 - but we play a majority of the game in a nickel. We rotate different linemen in, put lorax in on passing downs. Occasionally go heavy with 4 big boys. And we're blitzing a lot less and creating coverage sacks.
  18. People do stupid stuff, myself included. Why you would tape it and put it on the internet...? That i can't explain.
  19. That first drive in the 3rd was a penalty mess. But the 2nd I'll agree he wasn't very good. Can't blame him on the fumble too. He didn't even turn around The O'Leary one was great. Waited for the read and found his guy. Good stuff
  20. Can't trade dareus. I wouldn't cut tyrod because it doesn't really hamstring us to keep him. His cap hit isn't too bad and we can affordably cut him in 2018 if he sucks next year, and we have a plan of some kind.
  21. For the most part this week he's saying the right things. We're focused on this week - Mobile QBs present a unique challenge - etc.
  22. The NFLs description for a "drop" means you cant be touched basically. He's a professional wide receiver, he should be able to bring a ball in while in traffic. It's his job.
  23. I don't understand how they grade O-linemen. The giants legit have pressure on every single pass play, and average about 50 yards rushing per game. But their Line is top 5? Whaaaat?
  24. Watched a few Giants games this year. Eli is missing down field just as often. Oh and he's slow and they have no run game. They look terrible.
