  1. Salas is hurt - Goodwin's actually starting. You should probably include him in your 4... Poor guy gets labeled as injured when hes not - and injured people get listed ahead of him on the depth chart. Not like.. a huge fan of the guy - but jeeze he's not hurt quite yet.
  2. He's still on our team for another 2 years. Injuries suck - but I'm not about trading a guy who's value is at an all time low (not to mention creating a more massive hole). There's not much to discuss... There's plenty of ammo to fire whaley, but this is the first time in ages that we arent constantly losing/recycling our best players. So the roster is relatively talented. Yes - we could use a QB, but we need to time it right and not desperately chase one.
  3. Alright Rex... better coach your ass off this sunday.
  4. He's our best player. People get injured. Julio missed a year. AP is gone for the year. JJ watt is gone for the year. Get over it.
  5. Oh Urbik, he was consistent at center. Consistently low, and to the right of the QB.
  6. I think they'll both be active, and roll with brisset. They had a 10 day window to get a backup and passed, I think they'll both be healthy enough to go.
  7. I like college football. Much better flow. The ref's just make the calls very quickly and move on. Ball spotting is faster. There are fewer TV timeouts.
  8. We win if we control the line of scrimmage. If we can run and keep TT upright, and stop Blount from gashing us, we'll have a good shot.
  9. Ouch - it was the running game in that one that just destroyed us. Really is the best way to beat a wide 9 too - hammer them in the running game so the rusher's have to play more plays - and second guess things. I feel like any types of misdirection plays are tough to diagnose in a wide 9. Just looking at the numbers - we only had 1 sack in that game.
  10. He's a big dude, and he's always around the ball. He's got the uncanny ability to disappear into the coverage, and swoop in for picks at the last second. Great at reading QB eyes.
  11. He was on the field for 0 defensive snaps against Houston.
  12. Everyone saying "he'll just run slants and catch short passes - powell can do that" don't understand press coverage. Sammy has great hands at the line and can get open off press coverage pretty consistently. Maybe he won't have his deep speed, but his route running and beating players off the line are top notch. He's also a better blocker than goodwin/powell.
  13. He's yet to play a down - but hes a 2 down linebacker?
  14. I agree. College does have more replays. But they are all booth and go much quicker. The ref puts on a headset, listens to them explain the call, then explains it himself. No running off the field, no 2 minutes watching footage to decide. Someone in a booth decides. ALso you don't have to challenge plays - they just let the refs know of questionable calls.
  15. The coverage of the protesting to me is very strange. This guy kneeled during the anthem. This guy raised his hand. These guys locked arms. I don't understand the plight of the African-American community - and I won't pretend to - but it isn't newsworthy to me who is protesting. Shouldn't it be more about why?
  16. I just hate the flow. The 2 minute warning is essentially an extended commercial break. Every change of posession - commercial. Every challenge/turnover/review - Commercial. Every kickoff/punt/change of posession - commercial. It's a bit ridiculous. I used to like to watch the highlight shows, but lately I just go on my tablet on NFL.com and watch them on there. It's less of a hassle.
  17. Sounds like we expected them to scheme for him - so we didnt really gameplan much to use him. He isn't watkins... You can scheme to cover him.
  18. He didn't ever get the QB he wanted, and he had the Spygate 2 disaster as well. i think he's probably learned from it - but who knows.
  19. That GM, and the Colts GM... hard to believe they have jobs.
  20. The last year they were good - they had a solid defense. And that defense was led by Rob Ryan, and had 3 solid lineman and a good pass rushing OLB. They have since lost the OLB (galette, pre injury), overpaid jordan by a ton, and dumped hicks to the pats. Bunkley also never came back opening a huge hole in the middle of their defense. 2014 rolls around - they add cooks in the first.. and signed byrd. and added no other talent. They need corners desperately, but went after cooks instead of a verrett or roby. 2014 2nd round pick was cut 1 year later. and we complain about CK? Brees seems more than capable of getting by with less - yet they keep using premium resources to add weapons on O, and ignoring glaring issues on defense.
  21. Or just - use him...? The run game was working last week - i feel like that will not be the case against BB and the pats. We're probably without Sammy again, and possibly Salas, leaving us short of receivers on the active roster. When you lead the whole time, you don't have to get desperate. They can probably prepare him to run a few routes, out of a few formations, without making him know the whole route tree.
  22. My bad. Just trying to bring a bit of the other side to the discussion. 29-51 and 0-1 in the playoffs. People act like Schwartz is without fault. They're both qualified to get a second shot. josh is a qb coach there, and would certainly be after jimmy g like he was cassel the first time around. This time I think he gets him. Regardless of the price tag
  23. If he was in iso with peterson, i expect he got his butt whooped. Gonna learn today!!
  24. I think he wasn't ready to try and make his mark. He'd only been a coordinator for 3 years - and was following in the footsteps of a bunch of other failed patriots coordinators. Also - he was filling in the shoes of Mike Shanahan. He may have tried too hard to build something Personally - he was criticized for the orton/cutler trade... but it was probably not a bad move. Cutler stinks. And Marshall probably ran himself out of town if we're being honest. Drafting Tebow was stupid... He's since returned to NE for the last 5 years, played the role of offensive coordinator to the best coach in the NFL, who maintains the ultimate winning culture. But sure- lets just say he sucked in 2009 when he was 34, and go after someone else, and assume he's not qualified. Even though he was re-hired by the head coach he spurned when he left. After adding Stafford, Calvin, and Suh. And only had a winning record in year 3 of 5 years. 1 winning record. And I'm not for or against either - but i think they're both about as qualified candidates that you can find, and would be happy with either. This is all if and only if Rex is even fired.
