  1. Seattle is also changing the way they tackle.. By playing as if they don't have a helmet on. http://www.businessinsider.com/seahawks-tackling-style-could-change-nfl-2016-1 The concussion data at the end just says - per team. Any number of teams could be injured by other players reckless tackling.
  2. I like a sure handed guy who can break one now and again, over the guy who grabs you 3-10 yards a pop. Just... dont drop it, dont fumble, and dont go backwards. Not that hard, but we have had guys do all 3 this year.
  3. Few things ive noticed regarding special teams. 1 - The blocking on kickoffs is tough - and 9/10 its in the endzone. Just keep it there, the extra 3 or 4 yards isnt worth possitbly losing 10 with stupid penalties and poor returns. 2 - Punt coverage - Blocking in the back is ridiculous. Need someone on our staff to directly address this. It ruins good returns, and occaisionally hurts us on bad ones too. 3 - Penalties - Get rid of the ST gunners who keep making these bone headed plays. Basically Ron Brooks, and bench Hogan from returns. 4 - Kickers - Carpenter struggled, and needs to be replaced. No KOS, its a waste of a roster spot (and gameday active spot for a rotational player) 5 - Punters - Schmidts pretty good here. I've read that NFL punters are learning new punt styles and messing with returners ( having balls fall away, knucklers, low kicks, ones that switch field sides). That's actually kind of cool when you think about it, and probably why punt returns have been down all around.
  4. I don't even think we hire a replacement. We basically just hired a 2nd d-coordinator. I also don't hate rob ryan as much as everyone else. The guys legit had some of the least talented units in football for the past 10 years. Bad year last year. They also had 1 guy to rush the passer, a safety who eats a ton of cap and doesn't want to play, and a corner they vastly overpaid for who's just not good. Their GM has always been solid in the draft, but his free agent signings are a mess and they missed junior galette. Before that - Dallas. Year 1 - Sean lee in the middle, 2 solid pass rushers, pretty solid D. Year 2 - no sean lee/spencer, new prized corner (Claiborne - who turned out to be a bust), and they sucked. I don't remember those mangini cleveland teams, and knowing who was in charge in Oakland i don't think we need to look back to see that they all probably sucked. He also could totally flame out, i have no clue. But if it makes Rex a better coach, and we ARE stuck with rex. Bring him on.
  5. Why are we cutting KW again? I guess he's old - but the cap savings don't justify it. We then need to fill that spot with someone who probably costs what we just saved. And Dareus is actually supposed to be a 3-4 end. And KW is a penetrating nose tackle who causes pressure up the middle, you just need a mike who can actually tackle and a will who can cover. KW can also play end if we were to line up a big heavy in the middle, which i think they'd like to do. One year removed from a pro bowl and people want to get rid of him because he hurt his leg...
  6. Looking at his career he's never coached on a good team. Unfortunately i feel its probably going to continue...Talent wise we're good, but i'm not sold on the sum being good enough. But hey - 11 years of NFL D-coordinator experience, and working with his brother who claims to know a thing or two? One would think we'd improve? I don't think it will be worse.
  7. Coaching a unit with multiple high draft picks and vets? I dunno - i don't honestly know what any position coach does in any capacity day to day. My guess is thurman takes a little bit more of that over, and rob helps out with the grand scheme? Should be fun to watch i guess
  8. Someone please tell me why i should care about this. Didn't they say there would be changes to the staff?
  9. honestly the 2015 chargers might win more games with TT. They couldn't run the ball at all and adding a running QB can help open some lanes. Agreed - total team loss. We were pretty much beat across the board. And we still had a chance somehow until bradham missed that tackle in the flats.
  10. If this guy is there - is there any chance we pass him up?
  11. He lead with the crown of his helmet, he's ejected in college after a quick review
  12. You can't really stop it. If they did it in their driveway and put #billsmafia it still makes its way all over the internet. Billsmafia is too big to stop now.
  13. I like woods as a blocker. We run a ton of outside stuff (opposite of marrone's dive/iso strategy). Look at Larry Fitzgerald. He's motioning on every play and lining up almost as a 2nd tight end from time to time and trying to get those 2nd level blocks. He could do well in the slot. We'd need an upgrade at #2 for it to work.
  14. We stink at football - why not be the best at something?
  15. Ridley fumbled his way off that team. And i think it was only like 2 or 3 fumbles...
  16. I can see EJ returning. Year 2 in the same offense (not run by hackett), and this year taking exclusively backup reps.
  17. I'd still like a vet back there who can play if TT is hurt. He already missed 2 games last year, and i'd like a guy back there who can compete. Not a guy we have to change the gameplan for.
  18. I believe that this is correct. since Bob griffins 2016 cap hit is his 5th year and we drafted EJ the year after. That 5th year is only guaranteed for injury BTW. You can cut them before the new league year.
