  1. They had a first down run with gore. but they had negative passing yards and completed like 1 pass.
  2. Sure - but they had like 0 yards in the 2nd half. That's impressive against anyone.
  3. Buffalo was playing more aggresive against the run. Darnold was absolutely brutal under pressure.
  4. I know they're like - in the division race... but that defense stinks. I'm not sure I'm moving picks.
  5. Seems like Gilliam is mostly special teams so I assume maybe he was in a special teams meeting maybe? They motion Davis inside a lot to do this too.
  6. Being a coach is a lot of work - long hours and its basically year round. Being color commentary with one of the best play by play guys? Maybe he watches a few hours of film to get a feel for stuff they call and formations etc. After that its just natural - he sees it like they do. He's kinda gotten away from it when i watch his games now. But there's also that football player in him that can't help but say "get rid of it" when the QB holds it, or "Ball!" when someone fumbles. I think he's a really good commentator so... id rather he just do that.
  7. Like half their shotgun runs are RPOs. Thats why in that game edmunds is constantly late - he's playing the pass lane.
  8. Donald is undersized at 6'0 280. Yes he is very strong, as are many of the guys down there. Donalds got insanely good hands, and insanely quick motions - so he isn't really a fair comparison but i don't know that size is everything as a DT. If you just plug big heavies in there - yes they can anchor well against the run, but they aren't quick or dynamic to create issues rushing the passer. Now you have mahomes with all day to throw so... im not sure what is worse.
  9. At some point you have to question it though. They run more RPOs than anyone - and their linemen are constantly upfield. Which will inevitably open up space for mahomes to manuever, but also creates further defensive confusion. Why is the lineman able to run 5 yards up field to block the backer, when its a pass play?
  10. Yeah - if they jump Offside, you shouldn't be allowed to move. You know the snap count. If they touch you? Encroachment. If you snap it? Offside - free play. Thats it.
  11. Oof. TJ graham. A deep threat who cant track the ball and catch it over his shoulder.
  12. Gets to play OLB behind a campbell or wolfe though. So.. he's always lined up outside the tackles shoulder most likely.
  13. Yeah - like... edmunds is active. But he isn't healthy. Oliver same thing. Who knows about white. Milanos had like 2-3 different issues. Butler missed week 1 with an injury so he may be banged up. Phillips looks like a shell of himself. Either he's worse or still dealing with the knee.
  14. Yeah - the dline is a mess currently. They basically used butler at 1T with zimmer (didn't work), and oliver and jefferson split time over center on their snaps. That is not what you want on the interior. Butler can line up at 1T i suppose, but i feel like they got him to play next to oliver on passing downs. Jefferson brings some flex to being able to play end (no need with how bad the tackles are), but he isn't a 1T either. He should be playing 3T on run downs, and maybe 1T on pass downs - but it seems like butler gives a bit more juice to the pass rush. The big problem is phillips- they benched him for zimmer to play next to butler, and it didn't work. He got moved around all day on combos. They need a nose to play 50-60% of snaps (and actually anchor), and they need to be able to flex jefferson or butler to end as a run defender. Right now on 3rd and 2, 4th and 1 - they aren't capable of getting stops.
  15. It makes sense assuming KC scores 3. If they dont make it - you are down 7 vs. 6. A stop+TD now gets you a tie vs. a lead. You can still go for 2 to win. But 2 XPs is 90% probability achievements - 1 of 2 2 pt conversions gives you 2 coin flips. If you miss the first, i doubt a coach decides to do it again down 1 with little time on the clock. An assumption of KC scoring makes the math make sense, but from a win probability percentage 2 kicks is probably more likely to get you a lead vs. 2 point conversion attempts.
  16. Depends on the new coach. I would steer clear of QB "gurus" though - get a freakin leader in there. Maybe McDermott doesn't have buffalo in the super bowl, and maybe he never will... but the team is respected around the league. Jets are a laughing stock, completely rudderless, and devoid of any talent.
  17. So... they force you to play in college. Then force you to play for what team selects you. Then completely limit your income earning potential and lock you up for as many as 5 years. And saying- I don't want to go to a train wreck shell of a franchise is the selfish part? Seems like the nfl and ncaa are rather selfish. They're the one chewing up and spitting out kids for profit. Playing for the jets could have cost darnold like a hundred million dollars.
  18. I guess? Most coaches kick to tie, but I guess win probability goes out the window when ur playing this KC team
  19. I think the thought was if you make the XP, stop them, and kick again - you would actually have a lead. If you don't get the 2 - you lose the ability to win after a stop. I'm not sure how that works with win probability percentages.
  20. I think raiders and rams could be playoff bound.
  21. I really wanted Reader in FA- but at the time we had star so... Not sure they'd trade him. His 17.5 base salary next year is actually rather reasonable. If they need cap space they can even extend him and re-work it.
  22. I mean - you have to go for it down 2 scores when you can't stop the run right? May as well run a QB power or something there and just try again to start the 4th. I feel like with the 50/50 nature of going for 2 - 2 points puts you down 5 and 0 puts you down 7. Its tricky - if you kick and get a stop, a TD actually wins the game. If you miss the 2 pointer and get the stop now you only tie. So I don't know the entire math there... It comes down to actually getting a stop though which they didnt do. So like - down 14, you should go for 2. If you get it, you end up down 6 with a chance to kick to win. If you don't you have another coin flip chance to tie on the 2nd score. If you kick, you're down 7 and will then kick to tie - so no result of kicking is likely to get you a lead, while going for 2 has a 50% chance. Probably not seeing as he didn't work here.
  23. Nah - Mahomes didn't go to the senior bowl. Most of the McD picks were senior bowl guys - Peterman, Zay, Tre, Dawkins
  24. That makes some sense - and they have a bye week to get an extra week of practice so... likely its now or never.
  25. Not sure I'm a big fan of a move like this. Rookies tend to handle pressure worse, and they haven't run the ball well all season.
