Heh. Yes Tannehill had talent and would've done even better with a strong coaching staff to start. We didn't have that staff when he came out, so we shouldn't have drafted him, or any other QB that year, honestly. Also, he's not close to JA. I'm more than happy with Allen. He's going to show us why every team in the league wishes they traded to #1 and drafted him that year.

I definitely thought this last night. We're starting our mid-season string of blowout losses a little early. I just hope it's not a string this time. I'd like to beat the Chiefs. I guess if we're guaranteed to go 14-2 every year, with 2 losses by 20+, it's okay... Very odd to me, though, that McD seems to have a lag period. Usually between weeks 5 and 10 in the regular season, and every 3rd quarter.

Right. Even Beane said, from the beginning, that Allen hasn't got accuracy issues so much as decision-making issues that lead to bad reads, hurried throws, off footwork, etc. And, lo and behold, many of the analyst's videos posted on here the past few weeks have noted that there don't seem to be huge mechanical differences in Allen's game, so much as a sound understanding of the defense, where to go with the ball, and what the offense is trying to accomplish. Sure, he's worked on some mechanics (mostly consistency in them on easy throws), but those, along with his more mental hiccups, were teachable. At the end of it all, it was clear that he had the physical and mental skills, but needed time to learn. To me, the author's line of thinking is way too black and white (or narrow, like a lot of these stats guys). The question is not, "do stats no longer matter, or is Josh an anomaly?" The question is, "why didn't I evaluate far enough to understand that these stats were misleading?" 💯

Probably just precautionary, since we likely won't play on Sunday, and McD doesn't want to rush him back for a game he has a 10% chance of playing on time.
