  1. Clearly. However, the general sentiment after the AFCCG was that we need to be able to use the RBs and TEs effectively when other things aren't working. The coaches went into the season saying that the players at those positions aren't a problem. ...So are they really not a problem, and Daboll never figured out how to use them in the exact aforementioned situations; or are they a problem, and the real solution is that we're just sort of going to ignore them and hope nobody notices that we still don't use them?
  2. I was just so baffled in our propensity to try the trick play, rather than just let Josh be Josh and live or die by him.
  3. A lot of people saying things like this lately. It seemed like all through the offseason, Allen had wedged himself into the conversation for one of the better QBs in the league, maybe even first or second tier. There were still so.many reservations, and the usual suspects kind of backhand complimenting him. ...now, suddenly, in the last week(?) he is an MVP candidate, or in the lead for MVP, or flat out WILL BE MVP, or the best quarterback in football; and the Bills are no longer candidates to get to the Super Bowl, but never mentioned as less than Super Bowl contenders. What was it? Was it the 20/26 194 yds 2 TDs using a precision dink and dunk offense coupled with a 40 yd rope at a velocity that the biggest arms in history would struggle to match, all in one half of preseason play? 😅
  4. I was at the gates early. And I wasn't in the drunken herd. And... 😥😥😥
  5. That's the beauty of feigning ignorance. "...seemed..." 😅 Seriously, I hope you're right. We are so invested in our pass defense, but couldn't get off the field in the AFCCG. McD should be the one coach in the league who can slow that O down. He's handpicked both of his LBs to do just that. Hopefully this year's DL additions go a long way in making it happen.
  6. I see it both ways. Edmunds would be an excellent edge player. It's easier reads for him, and would allow his athleticism to truly shine. For better or worse, McD is coverage-focused. He values that athleticism to disrupt passing lanes rather than disrupt the ones throwing into those lanes (or so it seems). ...I'm not one to crap on Edmunds or claim to understand the nuances of his responsibilities and whether the coaches are pleased with his execution there. However, what concerns me about McD's apparent valuation of his skills as they pertain to his role in this defense is that it sure seemed like throwing directly at his zone worked a lot last year (such was not the case previously).
  7. Well, he came from that scheme in Philly, right (rhetorical)? I agree about the Pitt scheme. Pretty sure the double A-gap is just a variation on the zone-blitzing concept that LeBeau, apparently, created. And yeah, Rex did it too (Mario hated it).
  8. I have to agree here, from a historical perspective. McD's defenses are always average-to-good, and he can do some incredible things with his backfield, but his defense truly hums when the DL can get to the QB. I'm sure they "rev" a bit higher when they're not coming 😅
  9. I can't remember if Wilson's rookie year was the same year their defense started on that GOAT-like run. I just wonder because I remember NE (and the whole AFCE) getting destroyed by Seattle and SF one year. Since it's on a 4-year rotation, I'll guess that Wilson was a rookie that year.
  10. Lol at how diggs said he would've dropped the kumerow throw because it was too hard.
  11. ...But you love baseball. You even played in college, didn't you?
  12. Yep. Last year's SoS was like, 3rd in the league, I think. You never know how hard or easy a schedule is going to be.
  13. She said she wants to know your rate before she throws out a number.
  14. I think this is only because it's easier to build an entire defense than to find a franchise QB.
  15. Same- sort of. College out of state during the second half of his career, then another 4 years in the Army where I couldn't watch every week. I saw more of moulds than you, but can relate to having a large blind spot of Bills watching.
  16. @Logic may have more Rob Johnson jerseys, if that's any consolation.
  17. Lol. Definitely "window shopper." I can even hear the dull retail store music in the background.
  18. This constant hope that LJ improves as a passer is akin to the idea that a guy like TT would improve as a passer. Nice guys, hard workers, tons of physical talent, but...just not passers. The desire by some of these guys to stay in the pocket is palpable, watching them play, but it just doesn't seem like it'll happen.
  19. I thought this was a huge factor all season. I forgot I thought that until now, and have been hoping we're just magically much better. Thanks for the reassurance/reminder of my own thoughts 😅
