  1. Yet another popularity contest deciding the rankings. There is no way Dallas or the Jets should be placed ahead of the bills for the start of next season. Dallas added one corner and the Jets added Tebow, these are two franchises that will step back in 2012. The Steelers lost most of their starting offensive line, their defense is aging and their positive moves so far have been to release many older players and hang on to mike wallace. Small market teams and those with clear problems dominate the latter half of the list. Ugh, why do i bother raging about something that doesn't change. A slow NFL news cycle indeed.
  2. Also, they aren't resigning their own guys. Merriweather left and Mark Anderson is still a FA. We did put all our eggs in the williams basket but the Patriots know about that too with Brady's monster contract. It will be interesting to see if the Patriots can continue to lose components and make it to playoffs again and again.
  3. If Roscoe doesn't stick with another team why not bring him back? He has experience in the system, a rapport with Fitzgibbons and some nice inside speed. If he can be had for the right price, at least bring him back to compete during the preseason.
  4. Aren't these jokes supposed to be moderately funny too? Tannehill for the Bills is about as likey as us trading up to get Luck.
  5. Aren't these two things mutually exclusive? Also, he is apparently a demon behind the wheel and ran into the law because of it. Thank goodness marshawn didn't drive that fast.
  6. Is it really so bad to continue to support the team through continued additions? I have seen lots of posts asking for specific guys and we all hoped to get the twofer on Tuesday of Meachem and Williams. To be more specific, who wouldn't like to add Kamerion Wimbley to the defense? Or, Mario Mannigham to improve the WR core? I certainly agree that chemistry is important to championship teams and I don't see why it is to be derided. Mario Williams talking about the chemistry in the defensive film rooms; the reference to the wives making dinner together in a family atmosphere was a particular favorite of mine. Why then is this thread taking such a pounding? There are more people on TBD then there used to be and the Mario signing makes this site even more legit. I was glued to TBD for three days and had a great time talking Free Agency. We should work to maintain an atmosphere of bills camaraderie and mutual respect because God knows we don't get respect anywhere else. A call to decency on the interweb? What was I thinking?
  7. Semantics jerk here: Joe stated that the Bills fully expected to sign both Mario and Meachem in the next 24 hours. The bills brass, which was (conjecture here, but warranted) in contact with Joe, clearly expected to get them both. Meachem was made a good offer by the Bills but got a better one in terms of money and especially playing time. Most here do not recall the last time a free agent was on a visit with one team only to sign with another on the other side of the continent.
  8. And we are all happy you stopped by to say you wouldn't say anything of value or at all pertinent to this discussion. Thank you. For the OP: I know what you mean. It is exciting to be in the running for the best free agent out there. That's right! Manning stinks!
  9. This is not going to happen is it. Sorry Buffalo fans no Williams for us.
  10. I am enjoying the show too. Keep it rolling WGR
  11. Nice. I didn't even notice when I copied and pasted it. Maybe the mistake casts aspersion on the source.
  12. . . . The Bills and Texans DE Mario Williams have reportedly agreed to a contract in principle which will make Williams the highest defensive player in the league, but the deal has yet to be finalized. . . . I believe the part about highest paid defensive player
  13. As per CBS https://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=EyeOnNFL
  14. Yeah i heard the same thing. I have no idea but the article's author seemed to be thinking along those lines too. Why would anyone want to sign with the redskins after they dump these huge contracts year after year? A player gets zero guarantee except that if the team struggles they'll overspend on someone else next year.
  15. As per CBS http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-on-football/17772375/report-pierre-garcon-talking-contract-with-redskins-rams-too And Josh Morgan signs too http://blogs.nfl.com/2012/03/13/redskins-morgan-agree-to-two-year-deal/?module=HP11_headline_stack
  16. It seems like bell will be allowed to walk. The oft-injured tackle is hitting free agency in a very good year for decent offensive tackles. Besides San Diego's Jared Gaither/Marcus Mcneil the rest of the tackle free agents are moderate to sub par; essentially signing one of them is the equivalent of starting Hairston or Levitre on the outside. What this means for the Bills is that Bell will get a few good looks from other teams this year and might get a fat contract from one. Furthermore, Bell has been stink eyed by Gailey in the last two years. There was no guarantee he would be starting at the beginning of this past season and Gailey specifically called him out on his bad play. From interviews I never got the impression that he was happy with this kind of motivation but that could be a function of being asked by interviewers how getting yelled at improved his play. I think he wants to walk and would only be swayed by a decent contract, which he won't get from the Bills because of his injury history. I don't think he will accept a weaker contract from the Bills and would prefer to play somewhere else if a smaller contract is his only option. Methinks things about Bell.
  17. Went with Branch because we need that end presence. I have been seeing general consensus move away from Tackle as tenth pick post-combine. I am surprised he made the number one spot. Were there more Defensive ends to choose from than Offensive Tackles? Maybe Tackle won because of a consensus on fewer tackles being available/targeted at 10th pick. And I am off to check the old post and test my theory! Sure enough: Three DE/OLB playes listed to vote on: Ingram with 22, Perry with 4 and Upshaw with 7. Martin was lone Tackle prospect in voting and garnered the most votes, 27 I believe. I am certainly not ragging on the vote or anything, I participated and was voted down resoundingly. I concur with the Consensus GM and see how it goes idea, it sounds cool to check back later. I wonder how much the vote was influenced by the presence of a split vote for DE as opposed to the unified LT. Thoughts?
  18. Muy excellente. Thank you for bringing it to the attention of the staff.
  19. I choose Nick Perry, but I'd be happy with any of them save Tannehill.
  20. Maybe because you spent all day looking at porn? Buffalobills.com is a classy place, quit trying to smut it up.
  21. Such as I understood Pittsburgh this offseason they have re-worked Ben's contract and released high price vets like Farrior and Ward to make Cap Space for Mike Wallace. This is just a mock trade and I can't think of any time the patriots traded a first round pick for a player, rather it has been the other way around with New England dispatching Richard Seymour and Deion Branch for first round choices.
  22. Sorry Boss, they done did slap the tag on him. http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/articles/2012/03/02/20120302arizona-cardinals-calais-campbell-franchise-tag.html Mincey is the best DE free agent available. Drafting an end or olb would be great. Personally I is hoping for Nic Perry.
  23. I had one of those calendars. It was so depressing, 9 out of the 12 players in it had already left the Bills. I would be surprised if there was one player, besides freddie, in that calendar still with the team. If you look in the old Bills players jersey section the only jersey over ten bucks is Lee's. Perhaps he is coming back to us?
