Yeah. The blitz can cover up a weak secondary or expose it. Yesterday blitzing showed how week we are in coverage with rookies getting burned for numerous touchdowns. On the flip side we looked great most of the day dropping guys back. Florence had his numerous pick opportunities and with safety help the corners were undercutting guys all day. Sanchez started throwing balls in the dirt by the third quarter to avoid picks.

You are right. Why not Billieve. I am not one of the haters who says we give up and stop watching to make Ralph do something. Really, the game is all about the wins and losses and the Bills will make anyone who billieves look prophetic or ridiculous. Early in the year we all looked brilliant for having hope that the Bills could beat the Patriots: more wins would bring this same luster to a billiever. However, results will make one look moronic or brilliant, zealous or balanced, and I am inclined to think the Bills finishing 10-6 is a far-fetched. Best of luck to you seeming the brilliant billiever though, as it is a result we all could smile about.

I concur with the inefficacy of blitzing for this team. The last few weeks we have made sub-par quarterbacks look good often on blitz plays. We rarely reach the QB and therefore his guys are more likely to get open. It would have been a great call if we got Sanchez but rarely do we get to the QB these days. Calling for coverage had broken up the Jets passing game all day. We got burned on the final drive on blitzing plays. Bad calls George.

What is it: optimism is the food of the wise man but the liquor of the fool? thank you Vikram

I am pulling for spiller to have a big day as my team has been beaten up all year. Number one pick? Jamal Charles. Best receiver? Kenny Britt. I picked up Kevin Smith on the wire on Tuesday and he was hurt Thursday. I am #2 in my league and about to lock up the #2 seed but I meed Spiller to step up big time for me.

I'd take most any nfl team at those odds.

The Official "I Still BILLIEVE THREAD"

Man this thread got nasty. Go Bills! -
Maybin vs Hairston is hilarious.

I guess it does. Really I was hoping to engage a conversation about the topic but the boards are the domain of jerkaholics. I thought it was a logical expansion of how the tax situation would work. Please enlighten me as to how I am grossly misinformed. Are you 12? Do you seriously hit the bills boards just to put people down? Congratulations, you are a jerk on the interweb.

Isn't this just a tax washout though? While Ralph would have to pay large taxes on a capital gain from selling the team so would his heirs when they sell the team. There is no advantage to be gained from this reasoning other than passing on the debt to his heirs. This seems implausible as his heirs will receive the same amount either way. This leads me to believe that is related to the prestige of the position in some way. Maybe that of being a hall of fame NFL owner or having a region feel devastated after a loss and confident in victory. Whatever is correct, Ralph Wilson does not keep the team to avoid tax penalties to his children from the estate and gains tax. Book report stylee. Deal with it.

Why When indeed. Something to smile about on a rather dreary day. -

Have you seen the CBs in one on one blitz coverage? They need to stop pretending on the blitz and drop back in some zone. -

Has the team given up? This is the relevant question to ask for the rest of this game. Where are the players who made those wins over the Patriots and the Raiders? -

Dude, seriously? Just like that our defense puts us in an 11 point hole. George Edwards get the hell of my team. -

What it takes to beat miami, division, etc

Haters to the left. -
This is a great time to talk about how expectations affect treatment of players. Merriman as a washed up former first rounder is comparable to Maybin. However, because Maybin was drafted high here he was released due to the unrealized expectation. Merriman has less expectation attached to his name but has a similar amount of individual production. I am not stoked to keep Merriman here and would love a different LB but that is a question for free agency. I give Merriman a tentative vote of confidence but hopefully he is second string next year behind the next Lawrence Taylor. I'll thumbs up to that !

Our 2009 draft was when we got maybin and he is a colossal failure. However, we also got Wood and Levitre in that draft and we got Byrd as a play-maker on defense. Darreus was dominant three weeks ago and Hairston started two games at LT for us. Searcy got on the field last week after Wilson went down and he should see more playing time if Wilson can't play Sunday. No defensive player, rookie or veteran, has dominated a game since the Redskins in Toronto. Hopefully all this changes down in Miami.

Fitz's Inaccuracy A Problem Going Forward?
poo replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clearly incorrect. Sanchez had a shot all the way through the game to win. Fitz can put up points but the Cowboys had 21 points before we got a TD, all in the first quarter. Fitz > Sanchez -
Yeah I also think the Giants are the favorite to continue this trend. The defense is playing fast and hitting hard. Maybe a twenty one year reunion at the superbowl?
-
It certainly has been surprising how well the Bills have played this season. We are second in the division with a win over New England and who would have thought that would be the case three short months ago? I am not crazy about where we are after two tough losses but tomorrow is a new game. We have a chance to win the division still and when was the last year the Bills had a chance at the division this late in the season?
-
Just noticed that for the past five seasons the NFC contender for the Super Bowl have defeated the Bills when they played during the regular season. It is strange that we played all five of them however, it is less strange that we lost all five of them. Dallas or Giants this year perchance?
