  1. I am not an expert but in reply I would point out the relative motion of the two players in the play. PT coming out of the backfield with his head turned back towards Brees catches the ball and turns his head less than a second before the hit. You can see PT trying to get low for the hit but he doesn't have enough time. Donte has a much different path to the ball. He moved forward from his position on the goal line and accelerated towards the receiver after the catch was made without having to turn his head or move slowly to receive. That is how I see PT getting hurt whereas Donte does not. It is clear though that PT was knocked out and left the game with a concussion.
  2. It should also be pointed out that for all of donte's and the 49er's bitching about bounties and hurting opposing players it was donte's hit on Pierre Thomas on the Saint's fist drive that knocked PT out of the game and removed the Saint's running game from the equation the rest of the game. I am sure someone can find a clip of the hit, I don't feel like trying but as I recall Donte lowers his helmet into PT's and knocks the dude senseless on the field. This is not to call into question donte's actions, football is an inherently violent sport and the lowered helmet of donte was matched by the lowered helmet of PT, but it is pertinent to tell that scrawny little b-tard to shut his mouth when he complains about the saints. And I found it: Easily could have been a defenseless receiver call as PT had just turned his head around after getting the ball. Again, not that I agree with legislating out the violence but it seems a questionable case.
  3. I agree with Fitz not good. Bring back Losman! I threw up a little as I wrote it.
  4. i am in brooklyn and would love to go and if cheap seats become available i will
  5. Vick is the superior player hands down. I like Fitz, think the team can do well with Fitz, but given the chance to start Vick over Fitz I would go with Vick every time. If it was a question of starting one or the other over a season than Vick's injury history comes into play but in terms of quarterbackiness it is Vick by a solid mile.
  6. definitely a good time for Bills reading and interesting.
  7. I don't, Rochester #1!
  8. You can always try and find people on the boards here. Your best bet is to use friends and family to fill out those extra spots. You will run into the problem of the absent player but the more people you try out the more likely you'll find one who will be a great league member. I don't know how old your kids are but maybe they have friends who'd like to play in the league? That way, trash talk can be had between friends but monitored by an adult.
  9. The O-line depth of the Steelers and the Bears? Is he serious? Didn't the Bears give up the most sacks last year and then add little to the O-line? Doesn't Roethlisberger get sacked all the time and the Steelers Run game is no good anymore? Anyone catch that Jonathan Scott is a part of this depth?
  10. Bennett sounds great! Nick Barnett is one of my favorites; wish he would be there
  11. All the players were part of a tandem or had shortened seasons. Fred was awesome last year and mehopes he is even better this year.
  12. It was a monorail!
  13. Great example of Buffalo small market = less recognition. Matt Forte in the large Chicago market was on pace for a similar season to freddie, in my opinion they are about equal in terms of skill and possible production. MJD led the league in yardage last year but didn't even get a spot. Fan voting is crazy popularity contest. Amazing that Bills got a spot, an example of the increased exposure that came from signing Mario Williams. Side question: With the growth of Fantasy Football is any team really an unknown among many football fans? Freddie was a top scorer in my fantasy leagues as he was in most until his injury, could this have increased his exposure? Is any team a small market team anymore?
  14. Better that one innocent man be jailed than ten guilty men go free. In all seriousness though, way to go Mr. Banks. Good Luck to you in whatever you choose to do next as long as it is in the NFC.
  15. After losing numerous starters to injury as well.
  16. The Bills have been doing this the past two seasons. Bryan Scott, Jarius Byrd and George Wilson all played in this defense for the Bills last year. I assume Kirwan didn't mention the Bills because they typically stink against the Patriots. However, in the win last year, two brady picks came out of this formation I believe with Scott and Wilson snagging one of Brady's throws.
  17. Belicheat called the TO. when fred was ruled down at the one the clock would have restarted. I think belicheat was pissed about the 8 seconds that were burned during the replay. the play was over at 1:51 and the clock was stopped at 1:43. Belicheat had to take that second TO to stop the clock from restarting and try and preserve time. Ganonn was just really confused.
  18. I am not on Madden or have a PS3 but if I did you would be my hero right now uncle flap. I extend much respect to you for helping people find this stuff. A bump earned by helping others is the best kind of bump.
  19. Other than Tebow and Sanchez of course http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-network-total-access/09000d5d8292c5c5/Most-intriguing-storyline-in-AFC-East?module=HP11_content_stream
  20. Maybe you want to sit in the shadows forever and have a bunch of lovable losers as a team but I don't. trade the first round picks for the next three years. How often do the Bills sign anyone in the first round who isn't a bust? I mean seriously, cut whomever is necessary and package the draft picks and get this man. Pay him what he wants and we can win. Not just a playoff spot, not a division title, but be legitimate Super bowl contenders. If the Bills did pull this off you can run off and enjoy watching the St. Louis Rams fail repeatedly or some such ****.
  21. I can't believe people wold say no too! They don't want to win or something? I would trade the entire team for Brees and then get a bunch of scrubs. Brees as a me first type player? Are you all crazy?!? He saved a franchise that was desperate to skip town, he won a super bowl for a team that had never played a playoff game in their own stadium! He is an honest to God good person and an ultimate competitor. If there was any chance, any at all to swing this trade Nix should leap at it.
  22. Ridiculous. Brees was on a deal of 6 years for 60 Million, that is Fitz money. He won a super bowl for them, he deserves to be the highest paid QB. Hopefully he is cut and Bills pick him up.
  23. As a contrary example, my parents were dirty hippies and divorced in my 19th year. I had no money to go to college, I was on my own so I took a job working as a dishwasher. I got **** flung on me for two years until I was promoted to a slightly better **** job position. During all this time I continued to study history on the side, reading textbooks for fun and to keep my mind sharp. After some few years of working I was able to go back to college when my grandparents decided to pay for my community college. They cut me off after four semesters as an A student. I didn't blame them or think less of them, it was their money. I did have to take out loans though and get TAP and Pell support for my tuition and housing in order to finish my education. I am now an award winning historian in my program and am on track to graduate with an MA in American History in the next year or two. I am a person who used these state and national offerings (Tap and Pell Grants) to make myself better. I feel that they are very useful, as might be expected given my experience. I am a little surprised to hear you say you got little support from your family when $6k is quite a bit of support, I got a similar amount for two years of community college and there are certainly some who have gotten less from their families. I am not here to cast aspersion, even though you'll notice I received a similar amount but came to a different conclusion about the necessity of state support. I believe in social programs and I make no apologies for believing in them, they have assisted me to be better then a permanent suds monkey.
  24. According to the rankings they post in the video Glenn was the 19th best player in the draft and we got him in the 41st(?) spot. How is this a bad move for the Bills? And they consider his solely as an inadequate tackle, isn't his appeal in his ability to play multiple spots? Also, didn't a fourth rounder start the majority of the snaps last year and do so well that the Bills didn't resign their old starter? Maybe Gillmore will have trouble adjusting to the game and be unable to be a stand out corner but don't call CJ Spiller a bust. http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/05/08/2011s-best-performances-running-backs/ Leodis Mckelvin is a bust and his great physical talents do not translate into CB skills. A better comparison point than CJ would be the very real possibility the Bills just drafted the next Leodis.
  25. Best of luck to VY but please don't start with the QB controversy stuff yet. Fitz is the starter, Thigpen and VY are competing for the backup job. The person who should be most worried is Brad Smith. He was pretty bad as a Bill last year and I am thinking specifically of the Raiders game where he had two wide open receivers and couldn't decide which one to throw it to. Brad Smith was a signing we all thought would have a big impact but as the year wore on he was used less and less in the Wildcat and more as a fourth string wide receiver. Again, please no more about how VY is the savior of this franchise and how he is immensely better than Fitz. Yes it would be nice if the CBS announcers actually knew our Qb's name but VY carries little appeal beyond that. He will compete with Thigpen and if he wins the job then we can have a controversy, but not before he has played a single down in a Bills uniform fellas.
