That's just it - "his career was cut short". I never said he wasn't a great player but I think to be an all time great the longevity has to be there. I think there's some validity to your Curtis Martin argument in terms of when at their best who was better - but go back and revisit Martin's career numbers, they're absolutely awesome.

I just don't see Terrell Davis as an all time great - heck I think Priest Holmes was the better player. For those 3 years, Holmes was one of the best backs I've ever seen play. Just goes to show you what super bowls do for your perception as a player.

Well I've got to think Hodges has an edge just because of being younger with more starts - which indicates he's more physically talented. He's also 3" taller - that would allow him to do more than a 5'11" Humber. However, I agree with the other posters that what they do on the field will ultimately be how they win the job.
