The Book is Closed on the Mahomes Trade
White Linen replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess he doesn't have as strong an arm as everyone thought. If you can't overthrow any receiver on the roster - there's going to be a ton of balls that come up short or get picked off. -
The Book is Closed on the Mahomes Trade

With respect that you've put in some time watching Allen - it's flawed because there isn't even a reliable metric to translate it to the NFL. You know there's been plenty of QB's with great tape in college that didn't make it and as many with ok tape in college that have made it. Tape lies - that's true. Additionally we're not privy to all the information and I'll give you an example: There's been many times I've seen an INT or incompletion and said "what the heck is the QB doing", then the replay shows the WR slipped a little in his break and it wasn't the QB's fault - or later I found out the WR ran the wrong route. There's just so much we don't know even when watching the game. You can't just watch Allen's games and say tape is first and potential is not first. I just find it to be incredibly unreliable. -
Bills Sign DT Harrison Phillips

Completely agree. I think it'll be significantly better. -

I think he does. He just won a wrestling title at 285 as a senior in high school. -
McDermott - Game Management - Improving for 2018

I agree that can also be a part of it. With experience a better flow in terms of game time readiness should happen. -
McDermott - Game Management - Improving for 2018

Yeah, I think that's certainly part of it. I still think you're underestimating the instinct aspect. I liken it to speed - you can't learn speed. You can get faster but there's a natural talent to fast people. I think quick thinking is a trait. -

We won't get much from him in pressers but when it comes to personal responsibility it's pretty clear he's all about accountability. The only concern I have is - I think game management is a bit more of an instinct vs something you learn. I do believe you can get better with experience though so I'm glad he's spending time on getting better.. -
National Anthem Solution
White Linen replied to machine gun kelly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm saying it was intended to be disrespectful or whatever you want to call it, disruption, raise awareness through controversy, etc. It was meant to get attention to bring forward a conversation. Saying that it didn't is actually disrespecting the protesters efforts - by saying no one should be offended so your conversation doesn't have a stage. Don't you agree? -
I liked Kane on the ice too but 7 years is something I wouldn't be willing to give him. His style of play comes with the concession he'll miss some time and likely cause that to be an issue sooner than that contract will expire. I also don't think the teams leadership was strong enough to absorb Kane being one of the best players on the team.

There's something seriously wrong with you on this topic. The protesters meant to be disrespectful - that was the point to have their message heard. Seems to me you're the one spitting in their face - not the ones who don't even agree with their premise. -

There it is..... the truth of what you're really mad about. -

Which Bills Moments Legitimately Made You Cry?
White Linen replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No game has made me cry. I did well up when Kelly was pointing to his son Hunter calling him his hero during his HOF speech. Dad thing I guess. -
I posted this in another thread and I think it applies to your post. I largely agree with what you're saying. "I think it depends on the circumstances. There's 4 things I want before letting a young QB play - if I can dictate it. I want to reasonably be able to protect him, have at least a good defense, have an excellent running game and have at least 2 receivers that are real good at being safety valves (could be a RB, TE or WR). If I have a reasonable answer at those 4 things, I'm willing to let him play to learn. I can build on giving him other things to go next level by surrounding him with play making WR's / or maybe not resigning that expensive offensive lineman / or suffering in the run game a little - after he's got his base playing in the NFL."

Ideal Scenario If No Playoffs in 2018?
White Linen replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're on to something here bro. I am absolutely done wanting the team to lose for at least a while. That most certainly is a different feeling. We all obviously hope Allen becomes a top tier QB or that we have a Cinderella story in McCarron. Even if neither of those things happen in the next few years - we should still have a solid team to bring a veteran QB in to win with a talented team. I think that leaves us with 4-5 years at the very minimum of not cheering to lose. Really nice feeling. I don't think it's necessarily a "myth", I think it depends on the circumstances. There's 4 things I want before letting a young QB play - if I can dictate it. Did Brandon have a minor stake in the team?
White Linen replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I very highly doubt he was an equity partner. -
What game are you looking forward to the most?
White Linen replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The first pre-season game where we will definitely see Allen in action. Then of course the first regular season game. I think it's an exciting time to be a Bills fan. If our young QB isn't ready, we hopefully get to see a real good defense develop until he is.
