Good for you Beane. -
If our front office isn't leaning towards identifying a WR in round 1 or 2 - I would sign a guy like this for sure.

I'd like to add to your post by saying, there's nothing phony about it. It doesn't have that Jameis Winston feel where he just sounds like someone you want to shut up. Getting guys hyped up is one thing (I like) but they saw him take a beating and do whatever it took. He's got a very serious and focused side to him too. They rally around him for sure and now the FO is.

Thoughts on the draft post free agency.......
White Linen replied to Canuck204's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't like this even though you mention Hockenson and Metcalf. I like the additions of Gore, Kroft, Brown and Beasley because they are pieces that make us better. Top end offensive weapons is still a need. I don't mind a trade back as a strategy based on projections/value. I don't mind trusting Beane to identify the talent, but I want to make this offense great, not just better. -

Oh i believe he gets evaluated but I'm not sure it's by Beane. I think Beane offers input but I think he gives that information upward. Rex didn't report to Whaley, McD didn't report to Whaley and I can't find it anywhere that McD reports to Beane. -

I can't confirm you're correct about that. -
I'm still for spending the 1st and 2nd Rd picks on offense. In particular I want offensive weapons but if there's a lineman there and we're not completely set after free agency - then I'm good with it. I think it's time to take advantage of this draft to make the offense a problem - not just a better. McD is a talented defensive coach and he needs to make it happen without significant additions to what he's got.

Le’Veon Bell Signinig With the Jets

Correct. Ben is great and has made many a receiver better. Just for a moment go and look at all the receivers they've lost that Ben had and what a lot of them, minus maybe Sanders did after they left. In the highlights of watching Bell on this endless loop the NFL Network has of him and OBJ - all I can think is, what a ridiculous throw by Ben. I'm just saying, I think he'll be less than he would be under the umbrella Pittsburgh provides. -

He lost a ton of money in exchange for the security of not getting injured on a one year deal (franchise tag) - coupled with rejecting the Steelers offer. -

For some reason Bell doesn't scare me. I know he's excellent but sometimes a RB who's not a north and south guy - is very dependent on blocking scheme. I think Pittsburgh is one of the more underrated organizations that just figures out a way to scheme around what their players do best. There's something positive to take from a team in your division devoting significant resources to a position most of the NFL isn't. -

The future finally is now in Buffalo

Free agency was going to be interesting because there weren't a lot of "stars" per say. The key was to get pieces and I think we did that in spades. I think we need a stud receiver to come out of this draft in whichever round we get one - it's so helpful to a team to get one there. It would be nice to see another o lineman, LB or DT to add to our core from the draft. Maybe even hit on a mid round RB that becomes our future back. Even with what appears to be a successful free agency thus far - IMO, we do still lack top end talent. I know it's a lot to ask from one draft but I think it's critical that we get 3 excellent players out of it. -

I think you need culture to win or at least to sustain it. Maybe culture isn't the word but there's a cohesion to the best teams - and the perennial winning teams have that coach that do great at keeping things together. The Browns have a good bit to prove from an organizational and coaching perspective. They have the talent to make that a whole lot easier.
