  1. I do think all the information that comes from the combine matter. The interviews being the obvious one to require a physical presence. I do think that the majority of how a GM receives information and decides on it, comes from film. Let's just take N'Keal Harry for example. Everywhere, including the schools website has him listed as 6'4". He measured in just over 6'2. Metcalf, who's being described as a physical freak benched pressed 225 - 27 times. So did Harry. This is information that while may not override film - is still important to any GM.
  2. I'd give him a shot to make the team.
  3. One good thing about needing a Center is for those fans that didn't appreciate Wood - now maybe they are.
  4. Obviously the draft and FA are two different approaches. If you take the same philosophy of projection in FA - you're in deep deep trouble. And when I say deep trouble, I mean when you pay someone the money for what they haven't done yet. Now you can get burned also by a FA because a player can have done it and then not for your team but that has to be the baseline, IMO. I like Williams and I think he can be a good WR, but I'm for value and I think our FO is too. Draft picks are so inexpensive they have value. So it's much different than the top free agents in terms of risk vs money spent.
  5. I guess that's where we differ. I'm not paying for maybe and that's not how the good organizations operate. Good organizations get value for their money. You either pay for established play or you get more out of a player than your paying him.
  6. Zeitler and Duke Johnson for our 2 4th round picks.
  7. That's not the going rate. That's overpaying based on a projection he'll produce like WR's at that price point. The only "value" you get from a signing like that is if he outproduces what you're paying him. Now he'd have to produce like the elite WR's in the game.
  8. It's not a need. Depth maybe, but we have no need for a starter.
  9. I totally agree. I'll gladly pay for a FA that I know what he can do - I'm not paying a WR hoping he can play up to the money. That's bad business. I also agree that I want one of those slot guys (i.e Humphries or Beasley). I like a guy a guy that catches a lot of balls and they both do. I'll get the yards from my outside guys. Secondly, I want anything that pushes either Zay out or forces him to win the job. I'm not moving forward with him having a spot. He'll either earn it or not play. I draft a rookie in round 1 or 2 to be my other outside guy while Foster and Williams fight for the other. I like what McKenzie did late last year and I'd love the idea of trading for Duke Williams. I think all of that gives us multiple weapons that can do multiple things.
  10. I only discuss why to sign someone.
  11. He lost his footing because of how awkward he looked. He better improve it because right now he has a slower shuttle time than Tom Brady did.
  12. He may be talented enough in other areas (and he is) to be a good WR but being in the bottom 2-3 percentile in the cone drill and shuttle is at minimum something to be concerned with.
  13. Isn't the Mets logo already?
  14. Let's take it a step further. This is where I disagree with Yolo above. I want to go after one of the FA pass rushers (i.e. Houston). I'm satisfied with Hughes and think he puts enough pressure on the QB despite not having the sack totals. I would not pick up the 5th year option on Shaq and I'd justify that 2020 money with my new 2019 defensive end signing.
