I think the Bills have absorbed the Team first concept with no player being bigger than the team including Josh Allen.
To be fair, Cole and Star are at the end of the road in their careers and won't sign until as an injury replacement; this allows them to not go through the NFL grind. Also, those four guys were getting paid a lot by the Bills and weren't going to take NFL Minimum wages.
The team is incredibly deep and it is visible in the construction of the rosters. Last year we lost our best defensive player in week 10 and yet managed another 9 weeks without any problems.
Reggie white - After 8 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, signs a 4year 17M FA deal with the GB Packets at the age of 32. He went on to play for six seasons with them including a SuperBowl win and averaging about 10+ sacks per year.
Von Miller is coming to Buffalo almost in a similar fashion and has signed a six year contract. Do you see Miller having the same impact as Green did to Favre and the Packers on their way to a Lombardi.
Thoughts ?
IT starts with the win against the Rams in the Season opener.
Last year we were 2-3 in the regular season against playoff bound teams and also losses against Colts, Titans two good teams of the AFC South.
That 2-5 record needs to flip this year for Home Field advantage at Highmark Stadium in January
The credit goes to Allen for working hard and becoming the best in his craft
the Bills coaching staff for being patient with him and then putting him in places to succeed
Beane and his team for surrounding Allen with some top talent
That is how it goes in the NFL. However, see my other post....It is coming together of all things....Beane and McDermott have a strong role to play in Allens success and hence vice versa
+1
I think the released players who are not vested veterans have to go through the waiver wire before wishing to re-sign with the Bills to the PS.
The vested veterans can decide to do it right away; assuming they are not getting offers to be part of the 53-man roster of other teams.
Both Davis and Knox can contest catches and extend their catch radius.
We are loaded at the WR and TE position when it comes to making catches (especially tough ones). We will be better than last year.
Hodgins at best can be the 6th best WR on this team and he will unlikely see the field as long as the Bills don't have any major injuries. If there are injuries, I see the Bills going after veteran players in the middle of the season
Looking forward to this starting DL. Miller, Oliver, Settle and Rosseau
Can this line dominate and stop the run game. Can we stop getting abused by good runners such as Henry and Taylor and even Harris.
