How confident are you of either of those items? I don't think our running game got much better. Torraece is an upgrade at right guard so maybe the run game finds some life on the right side of the line between Brown and O'Cyrus. Dawkins is in decline, Morse is who he is, McGovern is another guy who is decent pass blocking but weak in run blocking according to the scouting reports. Brown is a major question mark with discouraging injury history. I expect more of the same as far as run blocking goes. If we don't find better balance it will be more hero ball from Josh unless Dorsey can scheme open looks. I still think the Jests mortgaged a solid build for an 18 month window a year or two before they were really ready to compete. I think they pulled the trigger too soon but I expect they will be competitive this year unless Rodgers falls apart.

Yes. We went 1-1 against the Jets facing Zach Wilson and Mike White. Our offense scored 17 and 20 points in those games. They gave us fits. Two of Allen's worst games of the season. Jests defense will be strong again this year. Dorsey better have answers because Rodgers on his last legs is still orders of magnitude better than their QB play last year. The Jets got better today. They will give Buffalo all we can handle.

Who in their right mind would have given Hunter millions of dollars without some proof of access to Joe Biden? There is little doubt in my mind Joe was involved in some capacity even if it was just creating the appearance of support. At minimum hes guilty of a massive conflict of interest as it pertains to his sons affairs and more likely he knowingly traded influence or promises of influence for personal gain. Joe probably still walks away from this mess without being tried or convicted of anything serious. Looks like Hunter may need to take one for the team. Let Trump and Biden settle who wins the 2024 election in the yard of fed pen with whatever weapons they can fashion.

Just wait until you see what everything else costs.

Netherlands is a solid team and the US at least played a decent half against them. The biggest critique for the Netherlands game is they fell behind early and looked dead for 30 minutes. The second half was domination but only one goal to show for it. They lack creativity when they cross midfield and are struggling to generate quality scoring opportunities. When they do, they aren't finishing. They were lucky to get out of Portugal with a draw. Vietnam should have been a 5 or 6 goal victory. They look like an average team and not the #1 seed and overall favorite. They are struggling to move the ball and generate offense. Their defense has been mostly sound and they aren't giving up many chances which is the only bright spot of their performance.

Yes. I think Brady could not have been Brady without Belichick. Look at every other amazing, Hall of Fame QB who has ever played. They mostly have one ring or maybe less. Is Brady 3x to 4x better than Manning, Elway, Brees, Rodgers, Marino? Did every other HoF QB just have terrible coaching holding them back? What I am reading here is that Belichick is average and every other coach is dog****. Except for maybe Shula who maintained a winning record for all 2 of his 33 seasons without a Hall of Fame QB. 31 years with Griese, Unitas, and Marino and 3 less championships to show for it than Belichick. Walsh's record in years without Montana is horrifying. Every great coach had great QBs but none other went to 9 super bowls and won 6.

I think the OL added two decent pieces but I don't know if it will be enough to meaningfully change the issues we saw last year. Unless Brown takes a major step forward and Torrance is starting material day 1, I think we see more of the same. A middling line with an inability to get any push in the run game and is susceptible to speed rush off the ends and power rush up the middle. Dawkins is on the downside of his career. McGovern is decent in pass pro but weak in run blocking according to the reports I've read. Brown remains a major question mark and his backup is not a sure thing. I expect Torrance to add a lot to our run game but he is a rookie and I expect he will look like one at times in pass pro.

You ignore the threat of a run, play the same defense you would for 5 wide, and run right around Spencer Brown to blow this up before any of these routes can develop.

That was a miserable performance and I regret watching a minute of it. Either this team has zero chemistry or the rest of the world caught up in a hurry. Portugal and Netherlands both looked so much more cohesive than the US. Portugal's passing was so crisp. Meanwhile the US is playing long ball since they have zero ability to move the ball up field with possession. The one thing the US has done well is limit quality scoring chances against. Portugal had one decent opportunity (which probably should have won the game) and Netherlands were never dangerous despite both teams decidedly winning the battle of possession.

Most of my dress shirts are a half inch too small in the collar and I have had zero concussions in over 10 years of high impact financial analysis and spreadsheet monkeying. Coincidence? I think not.
