  1. What this article fails to point out is that Smith sucker punched Lucas while Lucas was kneeling on the sidelines, at least twice. Punk azz move. Lucas apparently got the better of him during practice and little stevie couldn't handle it. He would talk a bunch of stuff, but couldn't take it when someone reciprocated. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d80d9bb34/article/gift-of-forgiveness-has-served-lucas-panthers-well
  2. Let's remove the numbers from the wall of fame while we're at it. I'm glad you have no say so with the organization.
  3. As soon as he gets cut...Zay Jones. Just joking, guys. I think he'll be our leading wr.
  4. I hope we at least talk to him. If he is cut, he wouldn't have that big contract to deal with. We could negotiate a team friendly contract, something Beane is pretty good at. Plus Gaines and Johnson have been injury prone throughout their careers. The fact that Norman excelled in McDermott"s defense leads me to believe they will at least talk to him if he is cut. I would love the move.
  5. Please don't stop. I want this thread to reach 1500 replies. Here is my contribution.
  6. As mentioned by the OP, Shady's hammy says "yes, Gore will get there".
  7. Maybe he's a Jim Brown fan. Or Marcus Allen. Or Franco Harris.
  8. If we're going to add to our interior d-line, I'd rather sign Ndamukong Suh for 1 year and find a draftee next year. I don't want to give up a draft pick for Leonard Williams. Also, Spotrac says he's due over $14 million, all guaranteed. No thanks.
  9. Under the radar isn't a bad thing. Sneak attack.
  10. This. He can and I think will rotate with both Star and Oliver.
  11. Is 53 too old to sign with us as a backup to McCoy and Gore?
  12. Love everything about Harrison and that we saw enough to draft him. I'm very grateful for all that he does in both our community and his. As an older guy, I don't really care that he responds back on social media. The reason for that is some guys get too wrapped up in it and take it too personally. Now on to football. I wrote in another thread I think he will be a big part of why our defense will excel this year. I feel he will rotate with both Ed and Star. He's big enough to plug in when Star needs a breather and he's 2 years into our defense. As far as rotating with Ed, Harrison led Stanford in tackles as a DT. He's got an eye for the football. He also is good at putting his hands up to tip passes when he's not in the backfield wreaking havoc. He showed some decent feet and enough quickness to work well with Star when he's in for Ed. He's no Ed Oliver, but he will be someone the o-line will have to reckon with.
  13. Harrison Phillips will win the Most Improved Player award(if the Bills give one out). He will play a ton this year. I feel he can rotate with Ed and Star. From the videos I've seen, he's played a lot of NT in a 3 man front and DT when 4 lineman were used. He is big and stout enough to spell Star and quick enough to spell Oliver. He led Stanford in tackles as a DT with over 100 tackles!! This will be his 2nd yr in our system and should be stronger than last yr. Did I mention he led Stanford in tackles as a DT?!?!
  14. That's a lot of candles. Fire extinguisher, please.
  15. My expectation is that he doesn't lead the team in rushing. Second place was Shady and he was 117 yards behind. Can't have that. We will be better this year, IF Josh stays healthy. I would prefer he throws some of these balls away instead of taking off and running. Trust the defense to do their job and live to play another series. 9-7.
  16. I like your out of the box thinking.
  17. Dude gets hurt more in the off-season than when he's playing.
  18. Not all GM's are as smart as Beane?!?! Hell, I don't know! Seriously though, maybe a lot of GM"S are thinking they need field stretchers at TE. Smith is not that.
  19. Considering what we've had at tight end and what is left on the market, I'll gladly take him on our roster. He fits what we want to do this coming season. Sure, he's not going to catch a ton, but we want to run and take our shots downfield as they present themselves. Allen is still only in his 2nd season and might not be totally ready to start slinging the rock at will. IF Lee is mauling for us on the running plays, then the play action will work really well, even knowing he's not a target. With him in the lineup and us controlling the ball, the defense will get caught guessing run a lot when play action is called. We have Kroft and Knox as our receiving TE's already. Two TE sets might be called a lot this year. Kroft or Knox taking a safety or LB with him on a route leaves Smith to do his dirty work and creating open running areas and he will hold up well in play action. I also trust Beane got a team friendly deal done. https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/sports/Smiths-Dirty-Work-Will-be-Missed-by-Raiders-396159961.html 'Lee Smith once was judged by Pro Football Focus, the analytics website, as the NFL’s best pass-blocking tight end, and he’s certainly contributed to the fact the Raiders have allowed quarterback Derek Carr to be sacked just twice this season. He’s also been a key player in the team’s No. 5 ranked rushing attack, too, that has generated 126.8 yards per game.'
  20. He's not ready to coach yet. Still has a few good years left in him.
  21. Hopefully McCoy has a good year, but I think Frank Gore will be a 1st down getting machine. 2nd and 3 or 3rd and 2, Gore get's the ball behind that line and it's a 1st down all the time.
