  1. why not an option for neither? Honestly for me, the jury is out on EJ till this year. If he starts missing games though, I'd honestly rather see them pull the plug than deal with years if empty hope. I was never really impressed with the EJ pick, I didn't think his game was strong enough for the speed of the NFL. I hope I'm wrong, because he is a likable guy, and seems to be smart enough to manage an offense.
  2. The Bills as an asset, just like any other asset can be sold to whomever the possessor chooses. The team was left to Mary Wilson and the Wilson estate. She could keep the team if she so desired, but has instead hired a firm to oversee the sale of this asset. She can empower the trust to make the final decision, or have the final say herself. I am guessing here that Morgan Stanley has been advised by her and Erie County to select the offer that has the best interests of Western New York in mind. I would be willing to bet my life on that, but I'm just guessing. You don't write hundreds of millions of dollars worth of checks over the last 50+ years as investment in something and not get to have some influence on it's new owner. With that in mind this is not a sale to the highest bidder type of arrangement, so I could Care less what Rogers said in the media. It's no different than me selling my house, I can select from several offers if I had multiple offer sheets presented to me, end the offers I selected would have no legal recourse against me for not selecting them. None, zip. Zero. Nada. Nyet. Nein... You get the point. There is publicly stated criteria in the search for a new owner, and it has been made perfectly clear that they are seeking an owner with intention to keep the team in WNY. From these alleged comments from Rogers, they are publicly making themselves ineligible to bid. My .02 Dollars worth, and I could care less who disagrees with me on this, because it's really all speculation on the language of the sale, which none of us have.
  3. Nope, he still plays for the Packers... Rogers is dead though...
  4. My Dad told me he and his buddies carried a half keg into that stadium for a Bills game once... Tailgating it was not, but that place was something else from the stories I have heard over the years. In an interview with Paul Maguire, he even made comments to the same effect. Say what you want about our crappy team, but Buffalo knows how to do it, period. We have to... 17 winning seasons out of 50+ years of complete ineptitude needs some kind of numbing sauce applied....
  5. It's not a good idea on any level, but for some reason it keeps flaring up like a hemorrhoid. for some reason, people think it would be better for Canadians, which in truth, it really would be a traffic nightmare, not to mention the Arial shots of the stadium would be hilarious as we also get to see the marvelous dump in view. It's never going to fade though until ground breaks somewhere else more logical. Just imagine, a shiny new stadium and..... nothing else around it, built in a decimated city... brilliant idea.
  6. I almost got suckered into reading his idiotic garbage, but it's really getting obvious now when he's trolling for a controversy. He's such an obvious hack now, it's almost sad and not worth calling him one. I refuse to read his sub-blog level drivel. How pathetic do you have to be as a writer to try and stir up some crap? How pathetic do we as Bills fans have to be to actually read through one of his piles of steaming Sh1t? How on earth the Buffalo News still employs him is staggering.
  7. Agreed. I think by placing it near the Sabres arena would also allow some opportunities to "share parking" space, limiting the need for as much parking. If this city wants to change, the powers that be need to start building some **** that will bring people and business.
  8. This team needs to worry about every single team they face until they become a dominant force in the NFL. Right now, they are not a favored matchup in any game. IF the QB situation was a little more established this might be a worthy discussion.
  9. Whoever voted FOR Bon Jovi as who they want for a new owner needs to be banned from the site.
  10. And the winning bid on the Buffalo Bills is: Jon Bon-Douche-Bag!!!!
  11. There is next to no chance he even comes close to buying the Bills. His outward tone about his potential bid is very defeatist in nature, which means he's just using this to gain publicity, and nothing more. He publicly admits he'll put in a bid he's not very confident will be enough. Then why bother? I think it's going to be the best thing for the team in the end if he doesn't end up as the new owner. I want a guy to own the team with both guns drawn at the opposition, with a passion to win, a passion to restore the pride in Buffalo. Someone who after he wins the bid flips off Jon Bon Jovi, and the likes of Jerry Jones. Any one of us on this board would do exactly that if we had the money. That's what us fans deserve, and that's what this whiny league needs. an owner who represents the tough city in which we all came from, not a kitty-footed, media hungry comb-over douche. If he does buy the team, I hope I'm wrong about him.
  12. Definitely... I went to the Bills-Dallas game a couple of years ago, and that stadium was lame in every sense of the word. I was really nice out in Dallas that day, and you wouldn't have known it. I was also at the St. Louis game when trentative was starting, and that felt like a football stadium crammed into the old Aud. That place is a shithole
  13. I have been and always will be 100% behind a downtown Buffalo site, the city needs something like this desperately. Every other location just seems like wasting an opportunity to continue to revitalize it's image as a sports destination. Niagara Falls, or Batavia, or any other odd location just doesn't make any sense. A new stadium will bring highway improvements, jobs, and growth to the city, and that's where it belongs. The road from Toronto, or fans coming in from Ontario in general won't really see a significant difference if the stadium was built in NF. If anything, the drive to downtown Buffalo would be a shorter commute than the drive to Orchard Park anyway, so there's still a net drivetime gain already.
  14. Thanks! I have no idea what's next for Jim, but I really think he has more than earned some healthy days in his life.
  15. Kelly Strong. It's really becoming amazing what Jim has gone through, and how he continues to fight, almost as if there is no other option. To see this amount of courage and strength in him has been a miracle on it's own. I am praying for you Jim.
  16. Simply because they didn't want to overpay for a position that really doesn't warrant that kind of money. Overspend for that and there's no money for bigger impact positions.
  17. there are several plays he made in that video that look eerily like Andre Reed. I'm not remotely saying he's the second coming, I'm just pointing out a few instances. There is no doubt Mike Williams MADE josh Freeman, which in my personal opinion is the opposite of the Stevie Johnson/Fitzpatrick dynamic. If not for Ryan Fitzpatrick, Stevie Johnson becomes another Josh Reed/Roscoe Parrish/James Hardy washout. Stevie is a dynamic player, which is what separates him from that list, there's no doubt, but if Cap'n Checkdown lasted any longer, Stevie would have never had that breakout season on 2010.
  18. The lease agreement is not worded like that. The lease simply makes any intention to move the team extremely difficult financially until 2019. Honestly, the lease is a strongly worded document with some sort of financial penalty built into it that protects the state's investment, and nothing more.
  19. Already have, and the facts made it way to easy.
  20. Please God NO.... can we please pass on the circus JUST THIS ONCE???????
  21. Explain why you think that's obsurd... was it the way we retained Jason Peters? Or was it our ability to negotiate with Parker on Byrd? Naaahhh it has to be the way we retained the services of alex Carrington... yeah, that's what gives you reason to think us logical Bills fans are off our collective rockers. No Wait... you might be drawing from our superbowl years, when He leveraged Bennet against the bills in a nasty holdout... THAT must be why we're silly for being disgusted with eugene parker. then again maybe you're going Non-Bills players, like Michael Crabtree's lengthy holdout in San Fran a reason for us to be Nut-zo for our angst against this marvelous agent, how silly of us... Don't bother replying, I figured it out for you......
  22. I wonder who he'll play for after his rookie contract is up....
  23. Retires from what? Football? I thought you actually had to play football in order to retire from it...
  24. It would be exactly what I think this city needs, and must have as it rebounds from 60 years of decay, mass exodus, and demise. Finally an idea that helps rebuild the city which bears it's name, and not some convoluted idea of building next to a trash dump.
  25. Nice try on the low brow back peddling comment... not biting, since I'm just not sure how you even came up with or perceived that. I deleted the rest of what you wrote by and large due to my lack of interest moving forward...
