  1. It’s maddening. People are just so desperate for his kid to be our franchise QB that it’s tough to always be objective. He was horrible Sunday. Bills fans were hyping this game up to the moon and were hoping this was going to be Allen’s coming out party for the world to see and he ended up looking like ?. Every week so far we’ve seen some really bad bonehead plays/turnovers and every week people keep saying he’ll learn from it. Well, 4 weeks now and we keep seeing the same things. At what point are we actually allowed to be concerned about his decision making and ball security? I doubt anyone here expected Allen to be tied for the league lead in interceptions 4 weeks into the season. I don’t want Allen to fail, far from it actually, and I don’t think his play Sunday means he’s destined to fail. But we can at least be objective about what we’re seeing.
  2. Did you miss the first 3 weeks where I complimented him and praised the great plays he made? Are you just one of those people that see any form of criticism of Allen as just blind and biased hatred? He had a horrible game and deserves his fair share of criticism. Part of it was because of BB and the Pats defense and part of it was his own doing. Which part of this is me being unfair?
  3. At what point did I say the defense had nothing to do with Allen’s bad game? Find the quote. Don’t worry, I’ll wait.
  4. What are you referring to? With what? When did I say it wasn’t? Throwing the ball away or into the ground because nobody is open is a credit to the defense. Holding the ball too long, throwing into double coverage and missing open receivers is on the QB. Should going up against a good defense excuse you from making the above mistakes? I don’t think so.
  5. Throwing into double coverage off your back foot is on the QB. Missing a wide open Cole Beasley on a 5 yard out is on the QB. Allen left a lot of plays out on the field on Sunday that had more to do with his decision making and fundamentals than the Pats defense.
  6. The inaccuracies looked to be more a function of his base and footwork. We’ve seen him throwing off his back foot too many times now.
  7. Our defense played amazing. We can thank them for keeping us in the game.
  8. Their defense being good shouldn’t really excuse our QB from being wildly inaccurate and making horrible decisions. if he doesn’t learn from these mistakes then we have a problem.
  9. I will always hate these arguments.
  10. Ryan Leaf’s first 15 games: 23 INTs. Guess what that means for Allen? Absolutely nothing.
  11. Proof he played on Sunday since we didn’t notice him during the game
  12. Ewww no.
  13. He’s not going to last long in this league if he throws twice as many INTs as he does TDs.
  14. I don’t expect Lamar to continue his pace and throw 40 TDs this year. Not sure I can say the same about Allen and his turnovers.
  15. Lamar Jackson at 2 and 3 rookies ahead of Allen was surprising. Then again, I also didn’t expect Allen to be so low.
  16. Don’t like the hit but Allen needs to be smarter when he runs.
  17. Watt against our tackles should be frustrating to watch.
  18. Cut Murphy tomorrow for all I care. Dude does nothing for his team. And I have no idea why Lee Smith gets so many snaps. He’s useless in the passing game and Knox is a good blocker in his own right.
  19. My point was more about the comparison and maybe it was a poor analogy to make. Not all great QBs take the same path on their way to greatness. Some start off great and others improve over time. I think the OP is selling hope and trying to talk people off the ledge. It’s not an easy job to do after a tough loss to the Pats but someone has to do it. Maybe I’m just jaded from all the years of seeing people compare the stats of great QBs to guys like EJ Manuel and Tyrod Taylor.
  20. what are those?
  21. I respect that he’s a gamer and wants to make a play but sometimes it’s more important to live to fight another down.
  22. He was already wrapped up before the hit and was still a few yards short of the 1st down. He takes a lot of hits and needs to be smarter when he runs.
  23. Steelers OC doing a nice job of getting Rudolph easy completions. Daboll could learn a thing or two
