  1. Comparing stats of guys 25 years apart is meaningless though. It tells us nothing about how Allen will develop. All it says is that certain QBs got better. Allen could go on to be great or he could go on to be another failed QB that people anointed as the savior sooner than they should’ve. Regardless of what happens, it won’t have anything to do with what Troy Aikman did in the early 90’s. You’re selling hope.
  2. daboll needs to actually incorporate them into our offense first
  3. the NFL wasn’t being serious when they made plays like that reviewable. I’d be shocked if they overturned this.
  4. That was a garbage penalty for OPI. I imagine this challenge won’t change anything.
  5. I would probably say how lucky we got and wish Allen a speedy recovery so Barkley can go back to where he belongs. I’d happily deal with that nonsense if it meant beating the Pats and being 4-0
  6. idk why I asked. I know better
  7. This Is such a terrible idea. Do people not think before posting stuff like this?
  8. QBs generally get better with time but the biggest question is how much better. There are a lot of factors that go into it. This is like saying Nathan Peterman can still go on to be great because Payton Manning threw a lot of interceptions his rookie year. There’s no correlation to be made here.
  9. Why do people insist on comparing QB stats from today to those in 1990? It’s stupid. Back in 1990, only 6 QBs had a passer rating over 90 and only 2 threw more than 30 TDs. Jim Kelly led the league in completion percentage with 63% and only 2 others had 60% or better. You can’t compare stats from different eras and hope to make some logical comparison. Allen may be good or he may stay exactly the way he is. Troy Ailman’s stats from from nearly 30 years ago proves nothing. Blindly looking at a few stats without any kind of context also proves nothing.
  10. Chris Trapasso is ready to be hurt again
  11. Surprisingly solid review
  12. It was easier watching us suck with Orton than EJ.
  13. EJ absolutely sucked and it was painfully obvious. He wasn’t going to magically become what people hoped he would be simply because he was given more time.
  14. Allen doesn’t belong in the same sentence as Peterman.
  15. You have to know your audience here. There were people here still believing EJ Manuel would win the QB competition for Rex and suddenly be a franchise QB in his 3rd year.
  16. if you still consider Allen a first year QB then by that logic Mahomes was also a first year QB during an MVP season. Barkley is also a first year QB too so if he makes a mistake then that’s fine since he’s still a rookie.
  17. He’s a significantly worse QB than Allen. You can call him what you want but that’s the reality of the situation. I doubt sitting him for one game is going to magically make him see the field very differently. If he keeps turning the ball over then he won’t last in this league and we’ll go back to looking for his replacement. It’s as simple as that.
  18. If Allen is healthy enough to play then he should be playing. If he can’t learn from these mistakes then he’s not going to last long. I don’t see how benching him for a clearly inferior QB helps him or this team.
  19. yeah but Tyrod hadn’t started 16 games yet so he was still a rookie. That’s how it works right?
  20. I’ve tried to remain cautiously optimistic about Allen. One bad or good game shouldn’t sway your opinion one way or the other. I am seeing concerning trends though. His bonehead throws and decision making are an obvious problem. I get it, young QBs make mistakes but Allen seems to keep making the same ones. He still has a lot of work to do before I consider him a franchise QB.
  21. Death, taxes, and Burfict doing some dirty stuff on the field.
