Yeah but you also see Easley catch a pass from Allen as well. If I had to guess I’d say the QBs get reps throwing to everyone when it’s against air.
Correction, upon closer review it looks like the pass came from Barkley.
Our first series on offense started with designed easy throws that Allen either had bated or missed completely. As an OC if your QB is having trouble seeing the field and getting the ball out accurately then there isn’t a whole lot you can do in the passing game
How so?
Perhaps I missed them but which reasons?
His completion percentage in college was 56% and so far in the NFL it's 55% (60% this year). His completion percentage this year is definitely an improvement over last year though but I never thought Allen was the kind of QB that would stay in the low 50's for completion percentage. I just equate that to having really bad receivers and a bad o-line.
His mechanics (specifically his base and footwork) are still very much a work in progress. I also don't think we can say his decision making is night and day different from his college days. Saying he was just a non step mess at Wyoming either means you didn't watch him there or you're grossly exaggerating. His college games were a healthy mixture of amazing throws/runs and bonehead plays and missed throws. Kinda like what we're still seeing in the pros.
Didnt NE have 10 points off of Allen turnovers though? Blaming the ST is just so you can avoid having to blame Allen. It’s okay if we lose a game because of Allen once in a while. It happens. If we win a lot more because of him than it’s not the biggest issue.
Just started getting into the All-22 tonight
Allen essentially stared down Smoke the entire route and the safety was watching him and waiting to jump the route. Knox was wide open with plenty of room for yac towards the sideline
If Allen can’t handle tough coaching when he’s making dumb decisions then he’s not going to be the guy we hope for.
And you don’t think that same impression can be made just by watching the tape?
