  1. I don't see it like that. He was saying that Flutie had PR on his side. Part of that was Flutie's son. He wasn't making fun of the kid or anything. It's just an observation, and it's likely an accurate one.
  2. He may very well be bitter, but I fail to see it based on the quotes he said, and I was on Team Flutie. Why is he bitter? Because the headline says so? He was being honest, and it was fun to see his POV. Flutie WAS considered a bit of a joke, until he started winning. Johnson understood, and dissected, the psychology behind the PR battle/public debate. And of course he thought he was the better QB. Wouldn't you if you were him? This is why public figures don't give honest interviews. So many people can't comprehend nuance. It's also a dishonest headline and weak journalism. The "contributing" writer on upstateNY.com didn't even do the interview. Just say what he said already and let readers analyze the internal workings of Johnson's mind themselves.
  3. I'd be shocked if they did. From a communications perspective, he's too much of an unknown. Will some snot-nosed reporter set him off? Plus, the way he retired, if in fact this is real, was not fitting for a press conference worthy player. That said, he got railroaded by the whole Martin affair. What a bunch of BS. I am glad he gave us three good years though. Hopefully, his health wasn't too affected.
  4. I checked while sober. Still blue.
  5. A technical aside, but am I the only one who can barely read these original posts on iPhone because of the dark blue screen and black letters? I’d upload a screenshot, but the file size is too big.
  6. Keep Taylor, who got us our playoff berth. Do whatever it takes to find our next 10-year franchise QB. Surprising to see so many fans talk about not messing up our draft bank, when the No. 1 reason for our failure has been QB. It’s a rinse and repeat mentality.
  7. Gotcha. News will (hopefully) always exist, the “paper” part is a relic. Having said that, I am an ex newspaper person, with a degree in Journalism and a concentration in “Newspapers.” Key word ex. Don’t know what I was thinking.
  8. So that means they shouldn’t get paid? The Buffalo News does a good job covering this team, Jerry Sullivan aside.
  9. Totally agree. Any why should I have to pay for Netflix while I'm at it? It's all thoughts when you think about it. It's not like content creators and content publishers have to be paid or anything. I know, right. You used to get so much more for free back in the day.
  10. So stoked to be watching the Bills in January. From here on in, Andy Dalton shall be known as #GingerJesus.
  11. ^This. Do it. Would also work if we didn’t make it.
  12. Maybe TT should just hand it off to him? Because he drops everything thrown. Give me a break.
  13. What an odd premise. That’s coming from an agnostic. Using your logic, an atheist coach would have no faith in anything he can’t predict. Sports is nothing but faith. And in multiple studies, intuition (a form of conviction) is proven just as important as logic. In fact, our over reliance on technology has been studied extensively in its role in causing us to make worse decisions because we are suppressing our intuition. Your post preaches “analytical data” but lacks data, logic or even anecdotal statements backing it up. Having said that, McD made a gutless decision to not go for it, data or conviction aside, and it cost us.
  14. Guard somehow against the slant. Guard somehow against the fade. Hit him often, mercilessly, and within the rules.
  15. I would love to keep him, and draft a QB to build around. But he's too good to keep as a stop-gap and backup. He'll get too much demand. He has so many skills and qualities. But he's clearly – clearly – not a deep playoff caliber thrower when the game is on the line and you need him to front your team. Not a knock, just a well documented observation from watching him for three years. Not sure how any fan could think Taylor would win a championship, let alone a Superbowl, without an elite D and a perfect offensive game plan.
  16. Carolina Chronics? or Charlotte Blazers?
  17. Neither of us can prove it of course. To answer your question, Suh is an animal. And his arm is as thick as Tyrod's head. And he's wearing gloves. It probably hurt, but it hurt Tyrod, judging by his reaction, more.
  18. He is a dirty little tw*t of a player. That punch had force. It wasn't just swinging. Don't understand how anyone could think that it wasn't intentional, especially given his reputation.
  19. Some extra points: Zay just can't catch the tough balls. After 14 games, I don't have too much hope he will be anything other than a No. 3. Without KB healthy, we have no true WR threat. Great Michael Jackson dance moves though. Clay played a great game. Not a speedster but he has so much power. I thought TT had a masterful first half. The entire offensive game plan went limp in the second half. Plus, we have a below-average WR corps. He's not a playoff gamechanger, and we need to draft a QB high in April, but he gets too much flack around here. Count our blessings IMO. Love the shot on 4th. Didn't work but the killer instinct is where I want this offense to be. Yes, White should be DROY! He is dynamite in every way. I agree - the pass rush was a welcome relief. We had Cutler jonseing for a smoke the entire day. Speaking of Cutler, he deserves the MVP slot. Thanks in part to our rush, he was awful. It's tough getting used to a woman calling a game, and her voice is a bit grating at first, but she knew her stuff. Kudos for your notes after two punch-bowl upheavals.
  20. So epic. I fully expect some Sam Spence music behind it soon.
