When my GF reaches an audience of millions talking about how important her personal stats are. Then I sit in front of a microphone 2 weeks later to reach the same audience of millions and specifically mention how not important stats are to me and my new GF, then yes those two things are at the very least partially related.

Pat MacAfee addressed pretty early the next day. Darius Butler agreed. Like him or hate him PM is pretty talented at what he does. EDIT: Point is, you don’t have to be a talentless slug to think that the entire vocabulary around this offense is purposefully anti-Diggs I also do not believe that this is not at least somewhat directed at Diggs. Very recently Stef openly talked about how he is chasing stats 4500 yards so he can get into the HoF conversation. And went as far as to say he forced his way out his last two teams. Ignoring that context would be willfully naive. It’s nice of Josh to say he wasn’t directing that comment at Diggs, and maybe he didn’t mean to publicly undress Diggs so passive aggressively like that. But the entire ethos of the offense “everybody eats” and we’re not chasing stats is 100% rooted in turning the page from Stef.

More like Pooooooo-Val. Amirite?! -
If they go 3-0 and then beat KC a few weeks later they’ll be hands down Super Bowl favorites by a wide margin. But talking about it and doing it are totally different things. Baltimore is the biggest test so far by quite a bit.

Agreed. And as good as the defense has been Spector is still a back up and to my eye has been hesitant/indecisive at times. I think he gets picked on in closer games. I think this game will help define how far Spector, Lewis, and Williams can take us if need be.

Injury Report ???? - Taron Johnson, Bernard, Milano
Mango replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
My quick to cents (not a doctor) is that it’s likely broken. On Amazon he held the mic with his left when asked and it was shaking. I’ve had a couple small “boxers fractures” over the years and it was similarly hard to hold stuff. -

I’d like to get a LB back first, occasionally those guys are picked on. I worry about a better team getting the best of them, especially Lamar and the Ravens with how mobile he can be. I am really high on Ingram so far. The kid has looked great. Cam Lewis is in a lot of tackles but he’s getting the ball thrown his way quite a bit. Would be nice to get Taron back quickly. -
Isn’t there some mediocre melancholy Goo Goo Dolls song about heroin we could sing to really get the people going?

For those games I like to say “I’m rooting for terrorism”

Can you cut somebody in September for a June 1 release the following year? I feel like I almost exclusively see it used between the season end and start of the new league year.

Kickers are fickle. So often they can go from great to trash overnight. I get McD tried to support his guy through the yips, but it is time to turn the scews. This kid has to sink or swim at this point. But agreed, I doubt they find a guy worth while right now.

Long-term future of the Bills defensive backfield?
Mango replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think @Simon is probably right, but I do think Beane prefers to keep Douglas around. Wasn't it reported that the team was trying to get an extension done before this season? IMO it will depend on his asking price. -
Tua’s Broken Dome (now being placed on IR-out at least 4 games)

Tre White has entered the chat.... Being cut (injury or not) is not a labor law issue. LOL. -

I think two different conversations are happening simultaneously. His payment and the ending of his career. In my mind Tua retires/is cut because he cannot safely compete anymore. His contract is guaranteed against injury. He gets paid his $160M or whatever: Even in a scenario where the team doctor clears Tua but another doctor doesn’t, there is no way that the Dolphins nor the NFL want to sit in front of a judge and rewatch the 2022 Bills game, then again 4 days later, then this. “You must not have an HR department” - @Mr. WEO -

Tua, you’re cut for being an injury liability. We don’t think you’ll be nearly as good post injury. Teams all across the league cut players post major injury all the time. Done. No HR needed. -

100%. His contract has huge money protected against injury. So when the time comes and he walks away it will go like this: Tua: I want to play footbal. Doctor: Yeah...I can't clear you to do that. Tua: Ah shucks. Guess I will go home then. (Profit) -

NFL : "Sir you don't work here anymore due to the risk of severe injury" Tua: "But I want to" NFL: "No" See how easy that was... Everyday companies and government agencies across theses here United States force people into retirement What world do you live in? -
The NFL has a lot of bad orgs at the moment. The issues in Carolina, New York, Tennessee, Chicago aren’t just a bad QB, it’s astonishingly embarrassing leadership across the entire org.
-
Slightly related, for all the hype Houston is getting, it’s crazy to me they couldn’t put away that Chicago team. That is one of the worst QB, OL, Play calling combos in the league this year and they still had a chance at the very end. As of right now Houston looks to be one of the “pretty good” but not great teams.* * It’s still very early in the season and Stroud is still just a baby in this league. A lot can change.

When I said good I meant elite, which he’s never had elite, size, speed, or strength compared to guys who do have one of those trait. Diggs is a crisp route runner. I agree he’s a good secondary option at this point in his career. My point is that he can’t afford to lose speed like Tyreek can because even an 85% TH is faster than most WR’s. And it’s not like he’s Devante Adams and can just out jump/muscle you for the ball.
-
I’ll add on that he isn’t a great jump ball ,contested catch, or speed receiver either. It isn’t like as he loses a quarter step here and there and he can still be quicker, bigger, stronger.
-
I’m not sure he knows some of the plays. Some of these passes look like they are thrown to totally different routes.
-
I’m not impressed with Williams, but man this OL is so bad. Just take your PS QB and make him the starter. Trying to get this kid up to speed in these conditions will ruin any chance they have of making Williams into a good NFL starter.
