How was Josh able to finish the game with a concussion?
Mango replied to JakeFrommStateFarm's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have rewatched the game and the whole thing really just gives off second half of GB vibes and it took Allen weeks to get his groove back. There were a couple of posters that were surprised that Allen wasn't evaluated for a concussion late in the Ravens game after the trick play and he smashed his head and his shoulder. Totally unqualified conjecture, but I wonder if he rattled his bell there and this is what you get when you spend the week after a concussion exercising, watching film, and studying the playbook? -
Just in general I think when he gets rattled or doesn't trust what he is seeing it is his go to. Simms sort of eluded to it this week in his review. He just thinks he can make magic happen every play. I will add on that if he doesn't quite get what is happening in front of him he is physically talented enough to do it on his own fairly often even if there is easy money in front of him.

Putting the whole "Diggs drugged me and tried to bang me" thing to the side for the moment. Robbing a dude and wearing his stuff on game day is super trashy.

These two go hand in hand, and like everything else, this isn’t a pie. A lot of things can be true at the same time. Josh is a freak athlete with a tendency to lock on to one or two guys, do something insane and throw to who is in there or his favorite guy. And he’s going all that at level that is pacing him to a likely HoF career. He’s certainly capable of being surgical and equitable but that isn’t his sweet spot or his default.

Of course. Put Allen in a different jersey and the entire message board is clamoring my that the NFL is risky this guys future. His undergrad is from Harvard and his PhD is from BU.

The only way I consider PSL’s is if I get right of first refusal to purchase anything that comes to the stadium. And even then I’m hesitant because we only get 8-10 football games per year and nothing else. But if they start getting concerts, winter classics, monster trucks, WWE, etc. stuff I could go to or sell, then I’d gladly plunk down the clash.

It really doesn’t matter where the safety is. Hollins was 5 yards passed the nearest defender. Every year we seem to have half a dozen or more discussions about ball placement and whether this play or that play should inside our outside. Not sure if my feels equals reals but it feels like we talk about that more often than other teams.

There is zero chance they call a QB sneak after Allen bonked his head. -

i am going to be very interested in the all 22 this week to see how much of this was a coaching/gameplan issue, wr issue, or decision making issue. -
Smelly Jockstrap Awards (Not Game Balls) vs Texans

Not to derail the thread but I think there’s some speculation that Josh went in before he was examined by the neuro. -
I’ve come around to moving on from McDermott. But I’m not OK with Beane yet. The Sabres org is historically bad. I have absolutely zero trust in Terry.

I think there’s a chance this is Allen’s second concussion in 7 days. Allen needs to sit down for some time. (I’m aware I am not a doctor and that this is all internet conjecture) -

I’ve said for a whole that this team should keep McD. But similarly to McDaniels, I think this is a fireable offense for any HC to happen on their watch. Direct over site or not. It doesn’t matter. Reading between the lines, I think there’s some implication that Allen did not see the independent neuro. (Also the NFL’s concussion protocol is a joke) -
Wasn’t the box score something like 1/9 24 yards pushing the end of the half? Most teams in the NFL aren’t good enough to win games with that kind of performance in the passing game.

WTF are you talking about. I was having a conversation about Cam Lewis. What is the rest of the drivel about?
-
PFR is a very reliable site to source.
-
Sorry, I posted the data before the Ravens game. Cam Lewis is actually allowing 75.9% completion and he’s averaging 7.4 yards per target and 9.8 yards per completion. Compared to Taron’s 5/7.4. We have a guy on the field where if the other team just throws in his direction they have a 76% chance of a first down. That’s bonkers. He's not any good at covering or tackling. He is a major liability.
-
He’s my least favorite player on defense at the moment. With Spector not that far behind.
-
He allows 72% completion and 111 passer rating. He cannot cover. In fact I think he’s second on the team in tackles because his coverage skills suck so bad.
-
The key will be the offense scoring early and often.

I wasn’t talking about the most recent adjustment. Von was restructured before the start of the 2023 season. That was dumb.
