  1. Bruce Arians said he’d still be coaching if Brady didn’t come out of retirement. If I’m Terry I call him with my checkbook open and ask what it would take to be OC.
  2. Ok, so let’s go down that path. You would think Ballard made that decision unilaterally? Or he asked Reich and Reich was like “nah, we got lucky for a year or two in Philly, he’s trash.” Then Ballard did it anyways? It’s not a total coincidence that they spent resources on Reich’s former starting QB right after they brought in his other former QB in Rivers. A lot of mental gymnastics to keep Reichs legendary status intact. I don’t think Reich sucks. I do think he’s “meh”. A good stabilizing coach for a franchise that has been a mess, but not a guy to get you over the hump.
  3. I think his time was basically up when they traded a 1 and 3 for Wentz and it didn’t work out. The whole point of the move is to recreate the efficiency they had in Philly. But ultimately it turned out that Pederson was the secret sauce. Suddenly Indy was left with a bad contract, down significant draft capital, and no answer at QB….again.
  4. Charlotte or Buffalo were the two most logical landing spots. I have unintentionally pooped on him up thread. I think he is a good stable coach, but not a game changer. He likely has more "hometown hype" than anything else at this point. Reich planted roots in Charlotte. He got a degree in theology there and was pastor at a local church until he was hired in Indianapolis. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Reich
  5. I mean, he traded a first and a third for Carson Wentz. His only other swings at QB were Eason and Ehlinger. The big one for me as an OC is that he had an opportunity to revive Wentz and it flopped without Pederson. That to me says that Pederson was the secret sauce not Frank.
  6. I think he is likely a good coach to come in and stabilize an organization. But I think the super high praise as an OC or HC candidate is largely hometown driven.
  7. I don't get the hype. Maybe he is a good coach, even great, but I don't know where anybody would draw that from. His 2 years in San Diego his offenses were bad. He didn't call the plays in Philly. And 2016 Carson Wentz was meh. When given the opportunity to make something of Carson Wentz without Pederson it flopped. He got 4.8 ypc out of Zach Moss, so maybe he would be an upgrade?
  8. I am tempted to agree, but Rodgers had back to back league MVP seasons with Hackett. So as much as Hackett sucks as a stand alone, there might be something to that combination. Devonte Adams also helps.
  9. Coverage was very odd this year. We played a lot more man. But we didn't play Elam much. It made some sense when Johnson and Hamlin were running the backfield. They were just not an NFL pairing. But it kept happening even when it was Poyer-Hamlin with Tre and Jackson.
  10. We roll with 5 DB’s as well, but I get your pint. What are the rules on interviewing? Can we request an interview for Super GM and Senior Mega HC?
  11. Beane was not an employee of the Buffalo Bills or PSE at the time of the draft. He was working in the front office of the Carolina Panthers….That is why Beane doesn’t get credit. The Bills OL would be much better if Dawkins was our weakest link. I agree he can be upgraded. This isn’t a strong tackle draft, but if the Bills find a LT they love I’d be ok with kicking Dawkins inside.
  12. Hamlin was the nail in the coffin for the season. But we’ve been plying bad football for a few months now.
  13. I think the reality lies somewhere between the Jets and Bills draft order. Beanes reference to the Bengals feels disingenuous . We don’t need to be in the position we are in. He doesn’t need to be fired today. But he absolutely has to be much better going forward.
  14. Edmunds and Oliver aren’t chief complaints. Rousseau, Basham, AJE, etc. as a whole unit are. Wed be in a great spot if the talent of Oliver and Edmunds were our number one concerns.
  15. Meh, I think that is old timey. Tennessee just hired a new GM. Teams can structure their totem pole how they wish. The 2017 draft was OK.
  16. When he gets to the point he cannot turn it around. The bottom started to fall out of the foundation of the team. He likely has an opportunity to hit one last draft out of the park. At which point I believe McD stays and BB hits the road if he fails.
  17. Let me start by saying that I totally understand that you cannot hit on every pick. But I think this answer is way too simplistic. We don't have too many holes because of the salary cap. We have too many holes because of. Singletary, Moss, Cook, Bernard, Basham, Brown, AJE, Oliver, Ford, Philips, and Elam have not provided enough impact. That is 11 of Beanes 15 total selections he has made in the top 100 of the NFL draft. KC had all 10 draft picks make their roster this year. That is certainly an anomaly, but ultimately that is where we are losing ground. Bad drafts and expensive FA to make up for them. When the dust settles this offseason, the Bills may very well have 1 or 2 players on their roster from the 2019 draft. Come time to extend the 2020 class we could very well be down to Tyler Bass and Gabe Davis.
  18. Is this true? I cannot find a single source talking about Frazier's contract at any point in his Buffalo tenure.
  19. We have been sitting receiving backs sense McD and Daboll got here. I am so perplexed by the constant need to go find it but never indicate any need/want for it. I have no idea if this is on Beane or coaching.
  20. I think some of the offense is on Allen. He is just so unwilling to get rid of the ball quickly and/or take what is underneath. None of the Bengals game is on Allen though. I am talking season at large. Allen is a stud with some kinks. Ultimately it is Dorsey's job to reign him in and he didn't. I think there is also a little bit of "we have been figured out". Unsure how much of that is the offense or Allen himself.
  21. There were dozens of posters all season long that were convinced the Bills struggles on offense during the regular season was because they were saving it for the playoffs.
  22. I think its time McD take over play calling full time. Start there. Philly runs the same scheme. It isn't a cover 3 issue. It is calling the right defense at the right times.
  23. I would like to upgrade, OG x2 RT WR2 WR3 RB DTx2 DE CB2 SS Should be a busy offseason.....
  24. I think there is room to upgrade/replace both coordinators. But I am really frustrated with the FO that we are in this position. I just don't get how we got so tight against the cap and so many draft picks that have just been role players. We can replace all the coordinators we want, but it doesn't change the fact that we have neglected WR and OL for 4 years and gotten no return on a billion draft picks spent on DL.
  25. Did he call the plays in SD? I think I’m firmly in the “OK?” Column of when it comes to hiring Reich. But I won’t be pounding the table for him. Apparently he didn’t call plays in Philly. Then they sucked when he brought Wentz back to Indy. I would be tempted to think Pederson is the secret sauce based on that.
