  1. I was trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. LOL. But I generally agree the dude is done.
  2. While I agree with a bit of your take Graham mentioned the below. It seems as though teams are required to submit their succession plan yearly.
  3. Per Spotrac Hamler has zero dead cap space no matter when he is cut. His $1M is cheap on its own, but if we want to move on we get it all back. I am guessing that Claypools will be similar even of cost is different. Which means neither player precludes additional moves.
  4. This is a very expensive 35 catches, 565 yards, and 3 TD's over 14 games. Maybe OBJ has one or two more 1k years left in him, but he is running on fumes.
  5. I think a big part of the Bills success is that McBeane have a 10 year working relationship before coming to the Bills. Terry's weird flat management structure allows him to work with the GM alone and the HC alone. When you bring in relative strangers it means he basically pulls all the strings. But when you bring in two people with that much professional history it makes Terry the third wheel on a bicycle built for 2. It is like the difference between brining in Mike Tomlin with Omar Khan vs. Andy Reid with Eric Decosta. Both pairings are pretty good, Reid/DeCosta are better individually but one relationship will be much easier to wedge than the other.
  6. It has been rumored that McBeane both have clauses in their contract that give them final say on roster decisions/no-meddling clauses. I believe that when the PSE article dropped a few years ago it was said that McBeane work to keep OBD away from all things Sabres. Around that time there was some talk of Danny Briere coming in as President of Hockey Ops but he wanted the same clause as McBeane and Terry wouldn't provide it. Don't shoot the messenger. I don't have proof, but those are some of the things that have been speculated/rumored. There is probably some truth and some exaggeration. It does provide a pretty clean, easy, and believable answer as to why each franchise seems so different.
  7. 100%. I have been critical of McBeane at times but I think they keep this thing afloat. I am hoping Lindy can wedge himself between Terry and the Sabres to do the same.
  8. This is an interesting number to keep an eye on. My knee jerk is that we just didn't have a ton of room to kick the can further down the road. We did a lot of restructuring in years past. That said, the Sabres have been bottom half in cap space 7 of the last 9 years (as far as cap friendly goes back). It hasn't just been "let the kids play" it has been happening for a while. So I do have a little bit of an eyebrow raised. But I will reserve judgement if spending goes back up once we have more space/the stadium is built.
  9. "I am intentionally condescending, arrogant, and disrespectful to people" I will take "People who are negative additions to every community anywhere for 1000, Alex"
  10. Make the playoffs and win a game is my bare minimum. Half the battle in making the Super Bowl is a team getting hot at the right time. This isn't a best of 7 sport. You only need a couple of good bounces in a row to make things happen.
  11. Everybody knows what it means. It is intentionally arrogant and condescending. You likely already know that though.
  12. Wonder if he'll go the Edelman route and get a place near Josh in the offseason.
  13. Mahomes is signed through 2031/37 years old. How is "should he be adjusted" lol. @GunnerBill eluded to it here as well, but Allen will be amongst the highest cap hits in the league going forward, he still has one of the top 5 richest overall deals in the league right now, and is very high on the list in cash. The Bills and Allen seem to be operating at a reasonably fair value for both parties at the moment. Allen has some big cap numbers coming up, I thought he might be an extension candidate this year to start to kick that number down the road a bit further. But otherwise his pay is fine reasonably fair for everybody. We will see what happens with the cap, but I think the QB number will start to come down in the next couple years. I think the league will feel a little snakebitten by Russ, Watson, etc. and I am not sure Philly or LAC will feel like they are getting value from Hurts/Herbert. Not that they will start paying guys $30M AAV rather they will stabilize relative to to cap%.
  14. I would like to see the terms of this. My quick knee jerk is that this likely gets Kelce some more money but also helps with the Chiefs cap situation long term. I suspect there might be some void years in there as well.
  15. What is strictly? Like he takes 1 snap outside and suddenly you are a soothsayer? Almost no WR on any team in the NFL "strictly" just plays inside or outside. Curtis played nearly 70% of snaps from the slot last year. He also had similar usage under our OC Joe Brady when they were both in Carolina. Even guys who are pure slot receivers like Isaiah Mckenzie still have seasons where they spend 40%+ of snaps on the outside.
