  1. The game just isn't the same product as hockey, basketball, etc. and that's putting recoverytime aside. Football doesn't have any flow to it. It's not an "I'll catch the 4th quarter after my work dinner" or "I missed tuesdys I'll catch Thursday" game or league. It's stop and start. 20 seconds of full attention one minute to grab a beer. For forever you could count on that almost entirely on Sunday afternoons. The more the league tries to force that square peg into a round hole the more it starts to chip away at the product. I watch a lot more random games early (football is back!) and late season (assuming playoff implications). But I make almost no effort for SNF, MNF, or TNF these days for most of the year.
  2. This run is wild. They are playing better hockey than Colorado since December 1. This has all the crazy makings of a cinderalla story. They closest thing I can think is literally Cool Runnings, which is crazy. The entire hockey community wrote us off and now it feels like the entire world is rooting for us. Just don't flip the sled before the finish line. *Obviously I know that Cool Runnings is a dramatized Disney movie.
  3. Nov 8 - Nov 19 is the last time the Sabres dropped 4 of 7.
  4. Both teams gave up on defense. I get the UPL criticism overall, but IMO this game wasn't one to use as an example. Low SOG but loads of high danger chances. 2 back door goals where Kuch should have absolutely been accounted for, a goal off of Tuch, and then two goals where Muel and Power both fail to pick up their man and fail to clear the rebound. We don't have a particularly physical defense, which means they absolutely have to be quick to clear the rebound and position the body. Something they have been very good at as of late, but absolutely terrible at against Tampa and they hung the goalie out to dry. UPL wasn't impressive, but he wasn't terrible either. He played fine IMO. Really strange, you normally see physical games like that with a clamped down defense. But this was playoff intensity and all star game defense.
  5. They are in Dre Greenlaw? I hope we got consent.
  6. Yeah, we seem to be going down the same road as New Orleans with Brees. People like to use them as a shinning example of the cap not being real, but I actually think the opposite. Sure they continued to field a team, but the team was never ever good enough mostly because they became strapped by the cap. They were held together by scotch tape and a QB.
  7. The guy is a dirtbag. That's clear. He's not even one of those fun dirtbags where you're like "oh man, that guy sucks but he's always got me laughing". He's just a flat out dirtbag who sucks the air and attention out of every room. He stinks.
  8. And for a guy I think is good but not great. I can't believe they gave up so much.
  9. At the risk of beating a dead horse this is why I liked Mack Hollins. He was our best ST player by a mile. Criminally under rated. Annnnd he could add WR depth. But it was his ST play that really wowed me here.
  10. Is he the same dude who was wearing an Amerks jersey last week?
  11. A week or so ago there was a guy in an Amerks jersey.
  12. My medium spicy take on this is that if we're going to keep Bill Belichick and Bob Kraft out of the HoF for at least year a year due to cheating then: 1. Brady deserves the same treatment. His direct involvement in deflategate is damning enough. (I know this won't happen) 2. The 2x SB MVP QB who beat the cheaters despite...the cheating...gets to go to the HoF.
  13. What!?!? It's a great look! The helmets aren't my the absolute best but they're still clean. The white/away jerseys are my favorite white tops across any era.
  14. Yeah, but I think that's still a drastic overpay for his production. If he can sign an extension to get him under $20M for the next 3 years, then sure. But this version of Diggs....nah.
  15. Peyton Manning had like nearly a decade under 10%.
