This threads purpose is to provide an "all in one" discussion on Dave Wannstedt and the Bills defense for the 2012-2013 football season. For example, last year we witnessed multiple threads on George Edwards created almost on a daily basis. This thread can provide one easy to access and organized discussion thread for the entire season..

WEEK #1 - Bills @ Jets Game Day Thread
BuffaloBillsForever replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are totally correct. It's a total mismatch though, so not surprising. You want to avoid matching a safety one on one against a Wr, especially on 3rd and 3. It was totally in the Jets favour. Wansteedt is not doing us any favours today. -
WEEK #1 - Bills @ Jets Game Day Thread
BuffaloBillsForever replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need to start a thread after the game in reference to Wansteedts defensive scheme. I am not impressed at all. Putting McKelvin on a island in nickel with no safety help (same problem as last year, playing the player and not the ball). I was really concerned when Byrd lined up one on one against a WR (Holmes) playing 10 yards back on a 3rd and 3. This is killing us. No help over top for our Rookie DB...man. I don't know what to make of the lack of pressure. That's really, really concerning. It's the whole D-line. -
David Nelson Not In Madden

I'll have to double check, I'm still in my first season in CC and I don't remember it ever dipping below 80. -

David Nelson Not In Madden
BuffaloBillsForever replied to AReed Deep For6's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I can only believe the context who started this thread was talking about Madden 13, otherwise starting this thread wouldn't make any sense. Anways, like any madden thread on this board there is incorrect information being passed. 1) Like what a few individuals mentioned Nelson is indeed in the game. 2) Marecel Dareus rating is actually 86. Canadian Bills Fan is correct. Stevie Johnson's pitcure is outdated. Laziness on EA's part. -
I just came across a funny glitch playing a preseason game with my Bills in franchise against the Vikings. There was a pass along the sidline and my CB LITTERALY melded into the chest of the WR. Too funny because they were trying to fight eachother off one another after that happened.LMAO...you had to witness it.

Big Brother Starts This Thursday
BuffaloBillsForever replied to Rico's topic in Off the Wall Archives
He/she is playing the exact same way they did the last time. Even if this goes through I still Frank deserves the $500,000. Franks only flaw is that he is too trustworthy and it will be his downfall. He should have learned this lesson by now. One of the best seasons of BB IMO. -
Vince Young @VinceYoung "I want to thank the Bills organization for the opportunity and wish the organization and my teammates good luck this season".

I'm just studying the Bills Madden 13 playbook as we speak. I'm just going over the 4 and 5 WR sets. The playbook looks like it has opened up a lot and improved but in context the last madden I played was 10. http://www.primamadden.com/madden13plays/Bills/Bills%20O/Gun/Spread

Ichiro - First ballot Hall-of-Famer?
BuffaloBillsForever replied to Heels20X6's topic in Off the Wall Archives
WAR is a metric that looks at Wins Above Replacement. It shows how many more wins that player adds over a replacement player at that position. Many of these advanced metrics like WAR are standard baseball analysis these days which clubs use to objectively evaluate players. Ichiro is an automatic 1st ballot. That's not my opinion, just fact. I like how there is lot of objectivity given to overly aggressive defensive shifts these days. That's the new "moneyball" that is occurring on the defensive side this year. -
And by "we" I mean the majority, including myself. This wonderful thread started by BillnutinHouston below has changed my entire perspective of the Kelsay extension. This was a calculated decision for changing the "culture" of the franchise and rewarding those players that will help change that culture. Buddy Nix was correct, culture change needs to take place before winning. Now I think we are in the winning phase. Go Bills! http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/147909-david-nelson-speaks-about-team-divisiveness-in-2010/ Has this changed any perspective for you?

Also what comes to mind is Gailey and Nix hinting at Lee Evans not wanting to run routes underneath which became an important part of teams offensive philosophy. It's more of a stretch to think he wasn't talking about Evans as "one of those players". I have no problem in what David Nelson has stated in the article. It seems like those players are likely all off the team anyways.
-
You are probably correct. There are plenty of myths about Lee Evans tenure in the NFL, first about his ability to make players around him better or "open things up" for the offense. Our offense was awful in his tenure with the bills especially our WR production. Secondaly I always had a hunch that it was a myth about him being a good teammate or a "team player". Just remember how divisive he was with the Losman and Edwards QB controversy. This was probably just the tip of the iceberg. One of the best personnel moves in the Buddy Nix era was trading Evans away. Excellent post and thread btw.

Did you have a whole house protector on your utility box or outside line? -

I like Bocces too. Certainly it's flavor is unique to Buffalo. Just thinking about a cheese and pepp or just cheese pizza is making me salivate. -

I actually "mount" my tomato sauce with cold butter at the end. I like the natural sweetnees carrots add but I don't like the tradeoff of what it does to the color of sauce. I really like a deep bold red color and carrots dull that color with the orange (if it is pureed smooth). I'm really a stickler with sauces and I really like a bold red color and bright "sheen" that mounted butter adds. -

That's the thing, its not acidic or bitter. From the taste I think they solely use tomato paste as the base too! It is on the sweeter side of pizza sauces which I can see some people not liking. But it actually has a clean, bold tomato flavor underneath that upfront added sweetness of the sugar. That's why I wonder what exact brand of tomato paste they use. -

If you have ever tried this pizza, the base of the tomato sauce tastes heavily of tomato paste but it doesn't taste like your sticking a spoon in a can of tomato paste. It has a very unique flavor unlike any pizza. Very bold tomato flavor. There is definitely other stuff in there like water to dilute the paste, oregano, salt and sugar because of how sweet it is (tomato paste is also bitter). -

Speaking of "Buffalo Pizza" does anyone know the exact brand of tomato paste Bocces uses for their pizza sauce? -

Not entirely because of the stretching. The yeast fermentation process will greatly have an affect on how thick or thin the dough will be. I can achieve different thicknesses with just how I approach the rise. -
Michael Floyd called out by Larry Fitzgerald

I'm glad the Bills won't fall victim to the Notre Dame bust. This is one of the players I wanted Buddy Nix to stay far, far, far away from. -
You are so correct about the caramelized onions. It takes me about an hour to develop the carmelization on the onions and proper "fond" when making French Onion Soup. Like another individual has suggested, chill the burgers for a couple of hours so the patties set.
