Adam Schefter Confidence Meter

Mrags should stay. I don't think Marrone lands a HC job. -
Marrone/Schwartz to Miami? Nope. Gase it is.
Wayne Cubed replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What will be more telling isn't who he brings in for the defense. The offense is that bad, they have some good receivers and just need to improve the running game a bit. The OL needs to be upgraded and overhauled but that's up to the GM to acquire the talent. The defense is the real problem. It's a mess. No LBs to speak of. The DL is basically Suh, Wake isn't getting any younger. The secondary needs help as well. -

Looks loke Gase to Miami is all but done: @AdamSchefter Dolphins and Adam Gase making progress, slight issues remain. If they iron them out today, Gase would become Dolphins next HC, per sources. -
Apparently the Bucs were scared of losing Dirk Koetter: Rick Stroud @NFLSTROUD #Bucs will go through the "process," of searching for a HC. But this sounds like a coronation for OC Dirk Koetter to become HC

It's because for some people, not me, Russ Brandon has been a hold over through all these years of dysfunction. They assume because he is still there, it's his fault. Of course I'm sure there are secretaries and janitors that still work at OBD that have been there through the years as well. I'm sure it's their fault as well.

Whaley signs multi-year extension with Bills
Wayne Cubed replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
See then he's wrong in his original article. "A team source told The News that Pegula met with Whaley and Ryan about a week ago, prior to the end of the season, to review the season up to that point and look ahead." So which is it, a week ago or after the Washington game which was almost 3 weeks ago? -
I think the problem is, if this meeting took place between the Washington and Dallas games then it probably should have been reported then or Carruci should have made reference to the fact that that's when it happened. In the original article he says that this took place a week ago, before the Jets game. So his timeline doesn't add up. It is quite possible that this meeting did happen and that Terry made some very stern remarks but it's also possible he saw a bit of a turnaround in the Dallas and Jets games. And since then has toned it down a bit. Vic either got this information too late or held onto it to creating a nice, click-happy, end of the year article. Add some drama to the offseason.

Whaley signs multi-year extension with Bills
Wayne Cubed replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup, you could and I have posted it before, with regards to drafting LT/OL in the top 5. -
Besides the Brenden interview stuff, that article is pretty crap actually. Most of it takes what Ken Kratz said to People magazine as fact, which in fact we're very exaggerated truths. There's a Reddit thread breaking down a lot of this, with links to the actual transcript. Teresa Halbach did not have a problem with Steven Avery. Both her boss and coworkers were interviewed as part of the trial and the most she said about Steven was "eww" because he answered the door in a towel. She was never asked to be removed from Stevens account. She called him to set up the appointment. She knew she was going there, there was no sign that she was scared of him. He called her back, based on times witnesses gave, presumably because she was running late. The sex toys and restraints are irrelevant because no DNA was found on them. There were also no marks on the bed that the restraints were used on. As others have said, I'm not convinced Avery is 100% innocent but man did they screw the pooch. They also didn't look at other suspects, at all. Scott is an interesting suspect and was caught in a bunch of lies by the defense. He also has a history of stalking and violence. Also his co-worker reported that he attempted to sell a .22 caliber rifle, the same type that is believed to be used, after Steven was arrested.

Apparently Abrahms already shot Darth Jar-Jar down but I'll read on anyways. -
I think the validity of the report, for me, comes down to the ultimatum. So they reach the playoffs next year, then what? Does Terry give them an ultimatum again? Or just let them go back to doing what they were doing before? Because giving an ultimatum like that, would change the philosophy of how the team is built, in my mind. So then why tell them at all? They both probably know that they need to get it right. I'm sure Whaley has known that since he has taken over. It's a results business.

The Glass Half Empty Report
Wayne Cubed replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love item 20... "Every team that's better than the Bills..." So, you mean the ones picking after the Bills in the draft? Ah yes, they will obviously be in a better position than the Bills to improve their talent. -
I agree with this as well. The goal shouldn't just be to make the playoffs. It should be, as you say, to build a championship caliber team. On the other hand, the talent was there this year to make the playoffs and Rex totally screwed that one up. Pegula is almost saying to them, if you can't make the playoffs with the talent that's on this team now, why should I trust that you can build a team any better?
-
Yea that's definitely true. And you are definitely right I'm sure ego plays a part. Maybe Whaley isn't worried about getting a job after the Bills, so he will stick to drafting how he has always drafted. I do think it does take away the possibility of drafting a QB in rounds 1-5. There are just too many roster positions that need to be filled by better players and Whaley has already made it clear they aren't going to go crazy in FA.
-
The only problem I have with a statement like that is, in my mind, if I'm a GM and I need to get it right I'm not looking towards the future and building. So, that means not drafting a QB to groom because I may not be here. I would role with Taylor and if next year goes well and I get an extension, then I select a QB. I would probably draft less high risk players. I'm looking for guys who can start right away.
-
"Make the necessary fixes..." The Bills need a handful of players at a couple starting positions, not all can come from the draft. Does this mean Terry says spend what you need to fix it? It's a bit odd for Whaley to say that they won't be spending in FA and want to sign their own. That's fair. Glenn/Incognito make sense but that's putting an awful lot of pressure to get 2-3 quality starters out of this draft.

Yes, the Bills were #2 in TOTAL YARDS RUSHING. That doesn't mean they were the 2nd best rushing team. On a per attempt basis, they were middle of the pack -

Why do people always break out the #2 rushing stat? That was total yards rushing. It's such a lazy stay. And the reason their rushing yards were so high is because they had the most attempts. In the more important yards per attempt, they were 15th overall. Middle of the pack. Did he do something right? Sure he just kept smashing guys up the middle, which got the total yards higher. Let's not go patting him on the back for that though. -

I'm starting to think that Rey, is someone related to Obi-Wan. Perhaps grandaughter? I don't think she's a Skywalker, that's too obvious.
