The MMQB: Is Tyrod Taylor "The Guy"?
Wayne Cubed replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Franchise tag. Then work on a deal. I doubt Taylor plays a great 2016 and then decides he doesn't want to play in Buffalo, especially since the Bills, I would think, would write a hefty check to him. Money talks. And why don't the Bills believe in him? Because they wouldn't have signed him right after this season? At this point I'm sure Taylor, and his agent, know that he has a bit more to prove before he locks up a big long term deal. -
Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft

Just watched 2014 highlight reel. We were better.

Yup. And if Jordie Nelson doesn't drop that pass from Aaron Rodgers, I think people see that Green Bay game differently. People/fans were really talking after the Bills defense "shut down" Peyton Manning. Seeing how Peyton has played these past 2 seasons, is it really special that they were able to stop him? I don't think it is anymore. Plus, they ran all over the Bills. On their first possession the Broncos went 3 and out. Great. Then Peyton completed one long pass to Welker and CJ Anderson ran it down the Bills throats with runs of 6, 6 and a TD on 6 yards. Next Broncos possession, Peyton throws a pick. Next after that the Broncos run again, and score a TD. Last possession before the half the Broncos had a chance to score but Tamme fumbles on the 10 yard line. Next possession came after the half and what did the Broncos do? They ran it and scored. Broncos up 21-3. Now, if this game happened this year, would anyone be talking about how "dominant" the Bills defense was? No, they'd be complaining about it. Sure Peytons stats look like crap and they effectively shut him down but the Bills did not come close to turning in a good or even great performance. They allowed 3 rushing TDs and had no sacks on Peyton. -
Perfect amount of time to spend in Vegas. I find it can get really boring after about 3-4 days. It could be that I've just been so many times that it loses its luster quicker. Saying that, I still get excited going there.

I've always thought DT Vegas was a bit of a freak show. More old school Vegas than whats on The Strip, it's always been a bit different. It's interesting, I think. If it's only for spending the night it can be much cheaper than the strip and getting a taxi/shuttle/bus to the strip isn't too difficult. Some of the hotels are complete dives but the Golden Nugget really is a gem there.

Bills Release Mulligan and Promote O'Leary
Wayne Cubed replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmm, wonder if another team may have shown interest in O'Leary and the Bills made the move before he could be signed. -
Been to Vegas more times than I can count and stayed at a lot of the hotels. I'll keep all the crappy Hotel/Casinos off this list: Vdara: This is a nice hotel. What I enjoyed most about it is it isn't connected to a Casino, it's right behind Cosmo and next to Aria, if you feel like gambling. Little bit of a walk to the strip but nothing too bad. Mandarin: Along the same lines as Vdara, it has no Casino connected to it but is an absolutely nice place to stay. It's in front of Aria, so right no the strip. Palazzo: Got a really good deal here a couple years ago. There are 3 floors that you can stay on that have access to a complimentary drinks and nibbles area, depending on the time of the day. It's nice to go there for a few drinks before you actually head out. MGM: Very nice rooms and absolutely massive hotel. A lot to see and do inside the hotel. Manadalay Bay: Very nice hotel. Only problem is its really the last stop on the strip, so you will walk a lot. I stayed at Mirage plenty of times too and its a decent hotel but as BlueFire has said, there have been lots of changes recently. If you are feeling like you don't want stay on the strip, I've stayed in downtown Vegas a couple times at the Golden Nugget which is the nicest Hotel downtown. I also think they do the best Sunday Brunch.

I watched the majority of that game and the Eagles offense is still struggling. They don't really do anything well. The average number of plays per drive against the Patriots was 5. They were up 35-14 at one point, but at the end of the first half, their drives were 5, 3, 8, 4, 3. Then they went 3 and out in their first series in the 2nd half.

I hate to admit it, but Taylor sucks

That's exactly it. It's fun to watch the development. -

How about an apology for the WRs who weren't set on the 2nd TD? -

I wouldn't exactly be using Brock Oswieler and Aaron Rodgers in the same sentence. Osweiler has proved nothing yet. He certainly hasn't proved, through 2 games, that sitting for 4 seasons has helped him all that much. Unless you think his very, very average showing against the Patriots** is proof of that. -
Scott Chandler and LeGarrett Blount
Wayne Cubed replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea, I'll take games where Scott Chandler is the center piece over games where Gronk is. Look at the games last year where Chandler was the leading receiver for the Bills: Chargers, Patriots and Broncos. All loses. -
I thought that too. He got up slowly and looked a bit unsure.

Damn, Joe Flacco tore his ACL

Mario has to be pumped for this game

Streaky in terms of sacks/stats? You mean like the rest of the DEs/OLBs in the NFL? Chandler Jones, leading the league in sacks, has 7.5 of his 10.5 sacks in 3 games. Streaky. JJ Watt, 2nd in the NFL in sacks, has 6.5 of his 9.5 sacks in 3 games. Streaky. Justin Houstons 7.0 sacks have come in just 4 games. Streaky. -
Haha. This place hasn't been the same since you took that new job.

Apparently you didn't see where I said "kept in check for 3 quarters". Tom Brady still went off in the 4th quarter because he's Tom Brady. The defense wasn't "as good" as what? The Jets defense is still very good. If you were expecting to see the TT that played against an average Colts defense or a poor Miami defense, I think your expectations are a bit off. Like I said, he did enough, he protected the ball and he threw a TD pass. He mad mental mistakes and left plays on the field but your comment that its subpar QB play implies he did absolutely nothing in this game and the Bills won in spite of him. Fitzpatrick certainly had subpar QB play because he turned the ball over twice and that contributed to the Jets losing.
-
Against one of the best defenses in the league, who held Tom Brady in check for 3 quarters just a couple week ago, on a short week. Did TT play amazing last night? No, but he made enough plays to win and limited the TOs. That's fine with me. I wouldn't call that subpar QB play because he didn't do anything that would cause the Bills to lose. He did enough.
