  1. The knocks on this kid are about perception. He's got skill and size at a critical position. His build also puts him in position to transition to safety later in his career if need be.
  2. I have one. Why do you think the report on trading up is accurate?
  3. QB controversies exist when neither QB is particularly good. If we end up with one somehow then probably both QBs should be tossed.
  4. At what point are fans going to finally understand that the use of #1 and #2 to categorize receivers is outdated. We run a spread offense and the guy drawing single coverage is typically the first look in the progression. The fact that no one can even agree in a modern context on what a #1 or #2 actually signifies is evidence of not understanding what is really going on when the ball is snapped. Since coaches don't even use that nomenclature anymore based on the modern schemes why do fans still fuss over it. If we go 5 wide a few of these guys are singled up and one has to beat his man. That is what they have to be good enough to do. It might be a great debate to have when you are cheating your boss on productivity but come on all ready.
  5. Hangartner is weak. It is just that simple.
  6. Decades of average drafting puts any team light years ahead of the Bills recent history. I love the build through the draft philosophy as much as anyone but when you need a serious playmaker and you have the money, you have to step into the breach for better or worse. None of us are getting any younger, and the longer it takes to make the playoffs the older and more expensive our home grown talent becomes. I look at it this way. If MW shows up to camp and does what he does best and stays healthy, that money he gets paid makes all the money invested in the rest of the line, front seven, and the secondary that much more effectively spent. Dareus and Kyle will get paid what they get paid, but a healthy Mario will dramatically improve the return of those investments. The best way to look at his contract is to average the starters salaries on the line and measure how influential that unit was in the outcome of the game. 3 years from now lesser players will get Mario money playing DE, count on it.
  7. This is what some people don't understand. The talent was never on the roster at OLB. The big men were used out of desperation to at least handle the run since no one lighter cut rush the passer. No 3-4 style coordinator was going to get much out of that group. It's funny how we switch to the 4-3 now and suddenly everybody will be playing in their ideal positions on the line. Buddy invested absolutely nothing in the OLB position and it's really sad that all that time and energy was wasted in every way possible. At least they learned from this and changed course. Everyone makes mistakes, few people have the gumption to change. The phrase "staying the course" always makes me want to puke.
  8. The last thing I heard her say was "not tonight Mr. Reality Check, I still can't sit down".
  9. Easy with the broad strokes. Thinking that Fletcher would add to the defense does not mean that I want Evans or Maybin back. The fact is that all the lame reasons people gave in this thread about why he is not a good player are simply not true. None of our LBrs ever looked that good when we were playing Jouron's scheme with that undersized D-line in front of them. Sheppard just did not look good last year and I don't see how his performance warrants not getting a quality player to compete with him, whomever that may be. It's about winning games. If so many agree that a camp competition between Spiller and Jackson would benefit the team then why would you just hand Shep the job and keep ???? as a back up when we all know there will be injuries at some point. It is the NFL, players will miss games here and there even in ideal circumstances. Nix was the GM 5 years ago?
  10. Scott has received an offer and thus far has declined. He is not the "answer" to anything we are doing on D. He is a good player in the right down and distance situations but he has limitations as a LB.
  11. As much as we need help at outside LB the fact remains that we'll be in the nickel half the time with the same front 4 on the field. If we stuff teams early and manage to get a lead by halftime we would likely be in the nickel almost exclusively for the remainder of those respective games.
  12. I love the fact that he wants to play LDE. You have to get real physical in that spot against the run and the big RTs and TEs. He will be a Strahan for us.
  13. I bet you were wearing your green Maybin jersey when you typed this.
  14. Maybe Kraft is starting to realize that to stay true to form that they will/should trade Brady in the near future to save money and get the picks to leverage a new QB. They will not be winning another Super Bowl for a long time, and it won't be with Brady either. Kraft may not know it yet, but I am sure he feels it.
  15. I feel great about these guys. I am curious how good they will be this year considering 3 of them had tendons reattached via surgery.
  16. 3 years from now his salary will be the average for a top 10 DE vs. the higher salary cap. Being that it is a six year deal you have to look at his deal based on what the cap will be over that period of time.
  17. Which one of our LBrs broke a QB's ribs last year? London Fletcher is still a very good player and Shep needs someone to compete with him for the job. Handing him the starting job in the middle without any real competition is not the best way to develop this kid. I would like to see him outplay a quality player if he is to be the starter, especially since that would also mean we have depth behind him.
  18. I still can't believe we let him go.
  19. Is that something Ronald busted?
  20. I wanted the Bills to sign Luigi.
  21. If the Bills were a perennial playoff team instead of a perennial failure the Ralph would have a waiting list for tickets, they would be much more expensive, and regionalization through the exportation of home games would be considered sacrilege. Winning would have prevented this entire situation. Since we are dealing with today's reality I cannot imagine the Toronto series being popular for season ticket holders if we were to reemerge as a perennial playoff team. After a few seasons of winning, paying for 2 preseason games, and losing a home game to Toronto that situation would begin to get old real quick. The Ralph has the mojo, and even though we beat the Redskins up there, that is actually the game that started the downward spiral. That place flat out s***s! It's only a matter of time before we have to play the Pats or Jets up there. 2 road games against either of those teams is a kick in the balls if you ask me and a major disadvantage.
