  1. The only true measure is the score. You can measure any other aspect of the game and it will never be linear to wins and losses. It falls into an exercise of mythical percentages signifying infinite "what if's". The score is the only statistic of real value.
  2. It all makes sense to me man. There is a lot to look forward to. If all those guys are healthy it could mean.......wins? Playoffs? Why not? We've all seen some fools gold over the years but on paper, the D-line looks legit.
  3. With an income range like that I would definitely be swayed by additional cash. In a game of inches officiating those inches should be worth something.
  4. Hell, I hope they give him 30 million a year.
  5. Exactly. This is another opportunity to make money. Some will of course believe that there is more to it than that, which of course there is not.
  6. Unless there is another draft in the near future that I haven't heard about then what alternative is there for a team to add players before camp?
  7. Joe D like many made sacrifices for his team and is paying the price. Anyone who knocks the current players for trying to get every penny they can get out of the NFL is a genuine fool. For those sympathizing with Joe D as do I can you imagine 20 years from now what condition the modern players will experience as they are much bigger and faster than the previous generations? Getting shot up with copious amounts of todays anti-inflammatories comes with a cost too.
  8. Apparently when Bell talks TBD listens. Talk is no substitute for substance. He was a part time player with potential who will have to go a very long way to stay in Philly. I wish him luck because he will need it.
  9. Fitz's deep ball might have been compromised further last year due to training camp last year. The team was forced to use 2 half fields and almost no deep ball work was accomplished for both sides of the ball. As I recall Gailey was publicly frustrated with this situation. Obviously it is not the only reason Fitz struggled at times but it is certainly a factor to consider. Has anybody heard if their training camp field has been fixed yet?
  10. With a successful surgery and hGh Merriman still has a chance to be effective. I wish him well. The man is a warrior.
  11. The notion of the Bills moving to LA has been and will remain science fiction. I typically refrain from threads pertaining to the Bills moving but it's the same old BS time and time again. The idea that a new owner will purchase the team and have enough ammo. to move the team while building a brand new stadium in our ever worsening economic climate is just not going to happen. Of course, if you accept the Toronto series as a necessity then you might think I'm the delusional one.
  12. 12 game schedule anyone?
  13. This is a great thread. No doubt the defensive roster looks like it's being molded into a strong base nickel. If this defense can stop the run and rush the passer while lined up in the nickel then we might see some really special football from these guys. What I like best is that the current roster has so many players that are yet to play their best football.
  14. If Wood would just change his name to Steel it would be smooth sailing.
  15. I think we can all agree on the ugliness of the last 12 years looking backwards. Then again, the strength of the current personnel moves seems undeniable. The best part is that the only players we seem to be losing right now are the ones that can be replaced in the draft (with a little patience of course). Personally, as good as I think this team will be this year, I think it's nothing compared to where they could be 2 or 3 years from now if they stick to their plan. Keep it up Buddy Nix!
  16. For everyone that thinks this team is in win now mode and that this is a make or break season consider this. The team is in far better shape than that in terms of the cap. All of the new FA signings and extentions are extremely cap friendly moving forward. When you also consider the cap moving forward they estimate that when the new TV money starts to roll in that the cap will rise substantially over the next couple of years. As of right now there is no reason to believe that this team cannot continue to develop it's roster effectively moving forward. Let's remember also that these FA deals are for more than just one season. Given the nature of our recent drafts this offseason may prove to be only the tip of the iceberg in building a perennial contender.
