Apply some common sense. You can't have high speed collisions with other players and/or the ground when everybody outweighs you by such an extreme margin. It's simple physics. The cross section of his bones and connective tissue are radically smaller than the corners and safeties that are tackling him. You can't play with his level of speed and aggressiveness and not have parts of your body break. It's straight up Russian Roulette. The only chance he has of making it through a complete season is if he were to only run streak patterns in the hopes of outrunning the secondary. Those are still terrible odds.

Which game is played in Toronto?

Demetrius Bell - Now an Eagle
RealityCheck replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At this point the Eagles look to be 0 for 2 investing in a long term starter at LT. With Bell's new found money he should invest in a stunt double. -
Since when do broken bones not count as injuries. As far as knee injuries go Wood was barely touched and his knee popped. Wood is a great player, but if he can't stay on the field then his effectiveness becomes nullified. Wood and Bell have way too much in common as of right now. Wood's biggest problem right now is that he will have to rush the healing process to start the regular season. Thank God for growth hormone or his career would be toast.

Why would the Bills take Coples if they are after a pass rusher? It doesn't make sense.

So you don't think that seeing a player play the game or going through the process of establishing metrics on a player says much definitively but you are confident that you can make a prognosis based on interviews. That type of mindset is why I don't trust salesmen. Ever. There is more to evaluate then packaging and presentation, although that line of thinking would probably make your line of work more complicated.

CJ or Fred? You can only keep one
RealityCheck replied to FrankReichComeback's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we are talking in the context of current events I would keep both. One way or the other I would not be in a position to have to lose one of them. -

Making assumptions like that you are definitely not The Kidd, just a kid. Remember, a head is more than just a place to hang your hat.
-
Wow. Great example. If they stay at 10 and are willing to wait till later in the draft to grab a few tackles then why not. Absolutely nobody on this line has proven that they can't be upgraded yet. That includes Wood and Levitre.
-
Exactly. Buddy doesn't know how to use a phone.

Nix will get the best player in the draft at a given position at #10. If they can't get the best LT in the draft at 10 (they obviously won't) then they'll pick a guy later that they feel has good upside at the position. The question will be which player will be available at 10 who is the very best at their position this year AND falls into the category of filling a need or lack of depth issue. My guess is defense at 10 unless they trade down. A DT would not surprise me. Whoever rotates in with KW and MD right now is a major drop-off in the middle. Players like Poe and Brockers would allow the team to cut or trade a number of the DT backups. Contractually speaking DT would be not only be a supremely formidable group but we could count on 2 years of not having to extend anyone. Just a thought.

If a certain someone didn't miss their field goal attempt would the Giants coaching staff look so f#####g smart over 20 years later? I don't think so. 40 minutes of possession and a loss would have changed a lot of perceptions about the Giants at the time.

CJ and Choice in, Fred out...?
RealityCheck replied to rick in hartford's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fred is not going anywhere. I am thankful that he is worth more to the Bills than anyone else. The man brings his A game every Sunday and has significantly played better year after year. What amuses me the most is that the fans that think he has peaked are not basing it at all on his seasonal progress but on assumptions and cliches. All the cool things he brings to the table right now were absent just a few years ago. When he first came to the team he had but one attribute, physical downhill running. His blitz pickup was garbage and he had inconsistent hands receiving out of the backfield. Look at him now. That's just straight up hard work. If someone could show me how he has not been significantly better from year to year I would appreciate it. Maybe I'm just crazy. -
Here's some draft history to cheer you up...

He hires the coaches so it falls 100% in his lap. -
I actually find it refreshing when people respectfully chose to not talk out of their a**. Opinion in the news is a problem from where I stand, unless you are looking for someone else's opinion to call your own. It does save some people time.

Mike Mularkey = Hank Bullough?
RealityCheck replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's complete Mularky. -
Thank you for proving my point. If you interpreted my post as calling people complete idiots then interpreting what you see in a college game to me is a waste of time. Using an example of Kyle being traded for a 7th round pick is complete science fiction. Trading Lee Evans away for a 4th seemed horrible to many at the time. Today that trade looks far better. If you see players and personnel moves in such an extreme black and white fashion then you probably don't understand anything about human resource work in general. We all have our opinions on these things but some of you guys take yourselves so seriously it takes the fun out of the discussions. I could be wrong but your response seems to be an emotional one.

Lots of arrogance in this thread. Perhaps a new thread is warranted. My question would be this. Who is willing to pay you as much as $1000.00 in a calendar year for your opinions on personnel decisions in any sport and at any level? If your wasting your talents away in your current day job then I think that is incredibly tragic and a lesson in true failure to all the kids out there.

Goodell lowers boom on the Saints
RealityCheck replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Saints were being investigated and informed of as much for a long time. Smart money is that you quit while you are ahead. Few people get a heads up the way these guys did. Their arrogance caught up with them. You can't expose yourself like that and not be prepared for the worst when you lie and continue your bounty program when you know you are being watched. They have only themselves to blame. Greggo is the definition of arrogance. He has some Rick Martel in him for sure. -

Goodell lowers boom on the Saints
RealityCheck replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So how does this work? Goodel gets 20 grand for this if my math is right? That's 2 kill shots and 1 cart off. I just can't stop laughing over the indefinite irony. -

As soon as we get any offense into a 2nd and long situation watch out.
