  1. Good post. Easley has a lot to contribute and is just getting started. He definitely could beat out Hardy and/or Johnson for a big role on offense this year. Heck, with a little luck and some good coaching, he could turn into a pretty damn good #1 wide receiver, he has the tools necessary. Besides, I think Lee would be much more effective as a #2. Just my two cents.
  2. Didn't we already have a huge, pointless, head-ache inducing Lee Evans thread started by Billsfan=pain a while ago? I thought he might give us more time to recuperate from that last one...
  3. I suppose so, I mean we signed that kid from the Lions!! What else could we want?
  4. I completely agree. No way would he have made it to their next pick. Therefore, I fully disagree with anyone who calls this pick a reach. Good post +1 Glad you see it that way now. I think that many people who had problems with the draft at first like you may come to like it over time.
  5. Edwards may start, he may not. It IS open competition at this point. Gailey may be "leaning" towards Edwards since he technically is the incumbent starter, but I think Brohm has a pretty good shot at taking over. Fitzpatrick remains a back-up, if he makes the team now with Brown's presence, IMO.
  6. I just want to say I like his upside, FWIW.
  7. Exactly. I listen to them, but try to formulate my own opinions without mindlessly following a talking head's guidance.
  8. That occurred to me shortly after he was drafted. Sort of makes me glad Gailey is giving Captain Checkdown another shot Interesting thought. I'm sure we will find a way to gripe anyhow
  9. After reading this thread I was thinking the same thing... To make this post relevant, I have to say I like this Troup kid and don't give a crap what some 'experts' have to say about him or where he was drafted. He's a true 3-4 NT and will contribute right away, greatly helping our run defense. Sounds like good value in round 2 to me.
  10. That's plausible as well. I wouldn't like it, but it's plausible...
  11. Interesting for sure. If this turned out to be true, I would think the Steelers would take a shot at Clausen.
  12. I agree with the above sentiments that Jacksonville would be wise to draft him, but I could also see the Vikings doing so late in the first. Either way, I really doubt he knows for sure.
  13. The more I think about it, if I were the Bills I wouldn't worry about a QB until the fourth round at the earliest. The first three picks need to address OT, NT and either WR or OLB, IMO.
  14. As someone kindly pointed out earlier, BR would come into the locker room as a default leader and honestly, whether or not the accusations are true, his image is tainted and I wouldn't want him to become the new poster boy of the franchise. Additionally, if you will continue to go back into the thread, a poster points out that a former Steeler questioned his relationship with the team and that players with young daughters weren't particularly amused with his off the field actions. Again, I am not saying any of this is true because I cannot rightly know, but I seriously do not think he is 'a perfect fit' or a 'sure thing'. If anything, I think his acquisition would have blown up in Nix's face eventually. Addressing that bolded part - I'm sure that's what the Steelers said after the first time.
  15. And now that you mention it, I'm sure he had serious input on this decision. Maybe he knows more than the media? Who knows?
  16. I am just concerned that we would have given up multiple picks. As I stated originally, I believe that he would end up costing more than just our first rounder. I don't give a hoot about his salary, I just want the Bills to maintain draft picks and continue rebuilding the way they started. And for the record I do agree that he is better than anyone we drafted in the first in the last decade. I don't know, I guess I just have a bad feeling about the whole thing, but really whatever we think is useless. Nix already declined. So now we will never know.
  17. +1 agree. As the game changes, so will strategy, including using the spread more and more.
  18. Maybe I missed something, but do the Steelers have to trade him? I would think if they don't get a top pick, they would just hold onto him. Has he worn out his stay in Pittsburgh or do they still like the guy anymore?
  19. I think you may be on to something here, but who the heck knows anymore?
  20. I've thought about this and I don't know if I'd be on board, but I see it as a possible scenario for sure.
  21. Thank Buddy Nix, he made the right decision, not me
  22. But you would give up multiple picks for a guy that is this close to being suspended for a full year? I am not denying the fact that he is a great QB. Yes, he did win 2 superbowls, but for a team like the Bills who need to rebuild, and do it the RIGHT way, picking up a troubled QB for the price they would ask isn't smart. Even if we did get him, we don't have nearly the supporting cast that Pittsburgh had when they won those Superbowls. What, you think Roscoe Parish is going to catch that game winning TD in the corner of the endzone? I don't think so. Seriously, the guy is a great QB, just not right for the Bills in this situation. He would sell tickets and jerseys and everything but in the long run, I don't think he'd be able to turn us around like everyone would expect him too.
