  1. Well the short story is we don't know anything really. We don't know what was offered if anything. All we can do is wait this out. Hindsight is 20-20 but right now we don't know if they even had a serious negotiation. Factors most of us on this board saw the goings-on, trading are starting quarterback, all the Machinations to move up and saw it as a chance to get a franchise quarterback. Right now all that is in question and it could be frustrating if we end up with the quarterbacks we now have on opening day. Pnward to mediocrity again. Let's hope not.
  2. If we miss yet again on a quarterback in this draft were in worse shape than we were last year with the quarterbacks that we now have. Its more years of mediocrity. Just get a GD quarterback. Based on what? A career backup who started four games several years ago? Come on. That could well be. Absolutely.
  3. Wishful thinking. Don't forget Wentz wasn't a clear number one ir sure thing, neither was Goff. Those two teams took a big chance trading up to get them and it paid off. Sometimes you just have to do it. We have never been willing to pay the cost for a quality quarterback. And that's why we are where we are.
  4. Could very well be BF4. I don't think he values them enough that he would put us in a worse quarterback position than we were in last year. Because that's where we are now.
  5. I think I'm feeling low because in my heart of hearts, I think the Giants are going to take Rosen or Darnold whoever's remaining. I can't believe we're just going to stick with Eli and not think about the future in this quarterback rich draft. So I really do think we're boxed out.
  6. Well then we agree!
  7. It's not pay back, the Jets just threw down decided to make their strongest play and gave up a bevy of picks. Of course Indy took that deal. We weren't willing to do that apparently or just maybe, Beane has a deal with the Giants.
  8. That's risky. You could have the Broncos move up to 2 to ensure that the top three quarterbacks go. I think he's got to make a play before the draft or just stand down and admit he got boxed out of the top quarterbacks.
  9. I get what you're saying OMF. I just can't help but think the Giants will be influenced by the bevy of picks the Jets gave to move up just a couple of spots. Dropping down to 12, I don't know. But I do find it hard to believe that this is a scenario that Beane wouldn't have anticipated. Also possibly the Broncos moving up to two or somebody else. So I don't know. I guess we'll see what we see. The process has its emotional ups and downs.
  10. In a real sense it did screw us. It's set an enormous price to move up. The Giants have all the cards now and if we want to move up it's going to cost us big time. Can we still do it? Yep. Should we do it ? I'm thinking yes.
  11. I would say so. It's going to cost us a fortune now. But to come out of this process with Mason Rudolph is just untenable.
  12. Well I read all 35 pages and at the end of the day, I can't say I feel good about this. After all these moves and all this work I hope we don't get boxed out again with leftovers.
  13. Restructure Hughes and Shady and we'd be good. Push their money into next year when we have 90 million under cap.
  14. He's a downgrade from Preston Brown. If he comes cheap he's a good depth signing. But we need to draft a middle linebacker.
  15. Sonny Jurgensen and Fran Tarkenton were under 6 foot. Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Andy Dalton are all 6-2 or a little under. If you want to go by height Brock Osweiler should be the king of the castle he's 6ft 8. But he sucks. You have to look at performance and not height. There's really no difference in the amount of batted balls between Mayfield, Rosen or Darnold.
  16. The height argument against Mayfield is just a lazy assessment. The guy produces, is uncanningly accurate, and has a fiery will to win. I'd take that guy in a heartbeat. And Baker Mayfield is a great football name.
  17. I knew that but fat fingered it. O next to the I in qwerty. My thoughts on Compton stand. He has the culture we want just not the ability.
  18. Slow and can't get off blocks is no way to live as an NFL OLB.
  19. Hey Ice, Graham's a nice pick up but who takes Jordy's place?
  20. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!
  21. Why all the Hughes hate? He played with garbage on the line last year. The guy's going to have a great rebound season. He's the only pure pass-rusher we have, hopefully Trent can pick up some of the slack. Stay the course we need him.
  22. McCarron and Trent. I'm still iffy about Star.
  23. The problem here is your using logic and facts in this argument. You have to go with just raw unfettered emotion.
