  1. I'm not ready to jump on SW bandwagon. We need a big tall fast receiver who's open when he's not open. I don't think that's Watkins. Let's see what he does in the combine. Almost 70 percent of his passes were under 7 yards.I know his YAC are epic, but that's college. You have linebackers running 4.5 in the pros. it won't be as easy as was in college. I like to see him catch some downfield balls and run some longer routes at a pro day before saying he's NFL ready. He sounds like Stevie with more athleticism. I'd rather trade down and grab Ebron and get another high pick.
  2. What's we need to do is to crush our opponents, see them driven before us, and to listen to the lamentations of their fans....just sayin'
  3. Read the thread. Bottom line - QB, in my opinion, may be the most important position on the team, but you don't need a great one, merely you have to have a good one.(read: Flacco, Wilson, Eli, etc) What you need is a competitive offense and a great defense. So let's stop dreaming of Brady and build the D to elite level and bolster O line. EJ may well be all we need in a QB.
  4. Beat me to it. That was my first thought. But the Cleveland fan would likely riot if they don't pick Teddie or Johnny.
  5. Can't say I understand Pettine's pick for OC here. I agree with VADC on this. A rookie HC who is coming from an offensive background (Marrone) can choose an OC with less experience (Hackett) and vice versa with a defensive minded HC. In fact that's what Pettine did with his DC pick. But you would think he would have chosen an OC with a better track record than Kyle Shanahan. given the short leash that he has and the high expectations from fans, could get ugly for Mike.
  6. The NFL Gods just couldn't bear to make Kiko DROY and vote Andre into the HOF the same day. A choice had to be made.
  7. The Pats are great. QB and Coach great. But facts are facts. After they got caught cheating they never won a Superbowl again. So they're great but not great enough to win without a leg up. The NFL is pathetic. Other sports took their heroes, like Mark McGwire and Lance Armstrong, and expose them for the cheaters there were. Not the NFL. They hid it. The Patriot's Super Bowls are tainted - bottom line - done.
  8. TG failed at his shot at a national gig and he's back as a local hack and bitter about it. EJ now knows the guy's a dick and he should treat him accordingly. All said and done however, EJ's multiple knee issues are a considerable concern.
  9. Makes sense, I heard that St. Louis was using a headhunter in their DC search.
  10. But he comes from a 3-4 scheme and we're going back, or forth, to a 4-3, or not - maybe. Pass!
  11. It's looking like there is a trade off between an elite sack total and solid run control. I think I would trade some sacks for better gap control on slash runs. Although it was surely a lot of fun to be in the top echelon of pass rushing, hurries, QB hits and sacks.
  12. I really don't care much if we blitz often or not. I just care if we knock the QB on his ass early and often. I think his Tennessee teams were pretty good at that. I have to have faith that the FO's stated goal of scheme flexibility based on talent available will hold true with this hire. He's a proven guy and a mature guy (unlike Hackett) and that's what Doug needs on the D side right now.
  13. Eff it. Don't gamble. Hire Wade, let's stop the run, blitz a bunch and move on.
  14. Not really, they signed a veteran QB who literally got knocked out for the season. If you followed the context of the discussion, and why would you after all it's TSW, you would see that the intent was to pound Freddy as the feature back for the season. hence my comment. If you disagree, try offering an argument.
  15. Call me crazy but hanging your hat on a 34 year old running back is just crackerdogs.
  16. I've followed the team since 1963. I'm an idiot, but at this point there is not much to be done. Against all good sense and historical data I believe we will be viable next year and a playoff team. I wish I could blame this belief on intense recreational drug use but I cannot. It is born of being raised in South Buffalo and Cheektowaga and buying beer in the bar in the Five Skis when I was 14. It just Is. Go Bills!
  17. Since he's better that Brown and Marvin is a murder suspect, I like Andre's chances if the writers want to pick a receiver.
  18. Right you are. It was 2000, Wade's last year as coach. Greggo came the following year and among other things, cut Watson.
  19. Good points. Perhaps Pears would restructure to stay. I think you are right about Chandler being gone.
  20. Wade was our coach but not the coach who coined "puntcatcher." That was Greggo I believe.
  21. You assume Moeaki is not viable as a starter? I think we need both new guards. Urbik is fine as a backup. Leguski's gotta go. Hopefully Hairston can push Pears to a backup role. All this said, I'd love to hear somebody who really knows what they're talking about to give us a break down as the OP suggested.
  22. Hey SK - What's your take on trading Mario for Skelton straight up?
