  1. My priorities are just fine. Those affected by my situation rather I do this than buy lattes and HBO. I do hope that you never need it, but should you come upon circumstances that spiral out of your control that you are treated with compassion and understanding by folks who maybe feel their priorities include compassion and understanding. I respect your decision to not donate, but I try not to judge your priorities.
  2. Relative to the past few posts about donating to a former millionaire. He played in an era where the knowledge of the damage he absorbed wasn't ubiquitous. He played his heart out for the team. Where he is mentally is not himself. Donating is a personal choice but I didn't look at what he made in the past. I looked what fate dealt him and where he and his family are now. In this regard, each of us are likely better off than he is now in most every way. You wouldn't trade places would you? I lost my job but I donated because I am in a better place than he is, I like him and simply because I am able too.
  3. Now he has the opportunity to do just that. Right now he is not a viable NFL QB. The post I responded to suggest we bench Orton and play EJ. I disagreed. Do you?
  4. Chevy Van, just incredible brother. I am proud of you and TSW! When you next speak to Mrs. Talley, urge her to consider using the money as a medical fund for Darryl. He has many miles to go for both physical treatment and other needed therapies. Insurance won't cover it all. Our goal is to have our Wall of Famer back and functioning for himself, his family and for his Buffalo family. This isn't charity, it's what folks do who care about you.
  5. Orton's in because EJ is not a viable NFL QB. It's not hard to figure out.
  6. $73,495! Are you kidding me! This is unreal. When I donated it was at $5,500. I'm stunned. Way to go Bills faithful. Gotta be a way to use thus to lever more out of the folks with truly deep pockets.
  7. I donated and I'm between jobs. What you say is true, but he is not better off than us. The medical help he needs is hugely expensive and his diminished capacity to work, hell his capacity to just walk and sit, is life changing and brutal. He needs a lot more help than this little fund can provide, but it's a way for fans to say we remember what you gave to this team and we are thinking of you. I'm a big believer in personal responsibility but DT's situation is a personal devastation you can't plan for, particularly in the era he played. I don't dismiss your reasons, just wanted to explain mine. Thanksgiving just got a bit more poignant for me.
  8. Good points but the guy needs both short and long term help. I'm out of work for almost a year but I'm going to donate to the fund. The NFL has to step up and own this. It's not like they are short of cash. But this little fund is a small way to thank a true Buffalo Bill for his play and loyalty to our team. I will share the link with my circle of friends and family.
  9. You know, depending on what happens with Hughes. I can see us keeping Spikes and using a 34 set up or a hybrid from time to time or using him in run situations. I just don't think any team is going to pay Spikes 3 down money. I would like to keep him. Kiko, Nigel and Preston are fast and nasty hitters.
  10. Not only do we have three in the top seven but we have the only down linemen in the group. The rest are linebackers.
  11. What is really depressing is this stupid discussion. So now were down to "who sucks less, EJ or Orton." Were not going anywhere with either of them. I'm in the "Orton sucks less" camp but believe me I ain't happy about it. But on the upside, all we need are a QB, new coaches, two NFL guards, a TE and a CB and were gold.
  12. It's November and the Bills are out of it...just like the past 14 years. Not being a troll, just being realistic. Our quarterbacking and coaching are below NFL standards as it has been since the last century. Until that changes we will be having this conversation for years to come.
  13. Enough. Orton's bad , but EJ flat out sucks. Get over it. We are a team without a quality QB anywhere on the roster.
  14. These current Bills are no different than the Bills of the past 14 years. They will have some surprising wins and p*ss away sure victories with a spritely mix of missed opportunities, bonehead mistakes, stupid penalties and bad coaching. In the end, they will lose more than they win or break even in a good year. I have seen the KC game played out multiple times a year for more than 40 years. They find new and more convoluted ways to lose. Good teams have a game like last week's KC game every now and again, we have several a year.
  15. Gutless coaching.
  16. And if they got points we wouldn't be having this conversation. Again, in crunch time, this staff looks overmatched. Fumbles killed us today, but we still could have pulled it out with ay calls to burn some clock, get a first down, etc.
  17. Lee Smith has paddles for hands and it bewilders me why they throw to him at all. Graag dropped one today as well.
  18. I disagree. Good coaches have a 4th and 1 ready to rock like KC had today while . our bumbling response was another lame attempt to draw the offsides. Orton was not razor sharp today , but we were killing them throwing to our backs. So with 4 downs on their 15 we make no effort to get a first down, throw underneath or to run, we go the throw to the endzone 4 times. When it comes to crunch time, this coaching staff is in a highchair at the table with real NFL coaches.
  19. I don't see the way to the playoffs at this point. Best case I see is 9 - 7 and no playoffs with anothwr year of Marrone and Hackett. We just wasted out beat defense in decades and bumbled away an easy win. These Bills are not different from teams of the past 15 years. They snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and the gameday coaching is dreadful.
  20. I have followed this team since 1963. I have seen this game 100 times. No matter the coaches, decade or players, we piss away games like this over and over again. I am so f***ing sick of this team right now I just have to back away and try to think about something, anything else.
  21. Another project QB with a strong arm and legs? Great! Sign me up. You can't have enough of those.
  22. You sir, were weaned on a pickle.
  23. 5 fingers of death 5 on the black hand side Take 5 5 easy pieces 4 weddings and a funeral = 5 It's for when you need more than 3 and 7's too many.
  24. My takeaways are: *Urbik should have been the starter day one. *Giving Hackett the benefit of the doubt for conservative play calling given our field position and turnovers, he still is in over his head. *We have a real NFL QB. Not top ten talent, but a legit starter at long last. *Sammy's a star and Preston Brown is really developing into a solid player. Can't wait for Kiko to come back. *Pears is brutal. *Our D Line is special and D Line depth impressive. *Chandler is playing well.
