  1. I disagree with your assessment on not being able to gauge the future from the way the first team plays in preseason. In many cases it holds true to form. Take a look at the Bills last year. Last night was encouraging. These are NOT scrimmage games...guys are fighting for their nfl career! They are playing to the max. And this is America, I deserve whatever I have worked for and can afford...& yes I can spare the money. It's just that I am questioning, after the past few years, whether I want to invest my heart in this team...it's been gut wrenching the past few years. Indy's regular seasons have not been gut wrenching from a fans viewpoint. Your grade of 64 is wayyyy too low. And my avatar is just one of many goofy ones on this board...so what? What does it have to do with the price of eggs?
  2. IMHO, the simple fact that our first team outscored Manning & his first team...a team that is 6.5 mos from a SB appearance, well that fact alone warrants an above average grade. Feelin' a bit stingy today CodeMonkey?
  3. Thanks for your input & welcome to the board!
  4. Me too T-boy! I was dumbfounded at the pick, but now I'm pumped! He's got the "IT" factor! I can smell Rookie of the Year!
  5. My original grade was going to be closer to that, but I LOVED the way they didn't have a meltdown at the end. They took charge with Joique Bell & sealed the deal. That impressed me enuf to up their grade.
  6. I posted the paragraph below on Monday the 16th. It was buried in another thread & I didn't get a big response, but I decided to leave my grade at 43 and start a new thread today for the Colts game. I watched the 1st half last night & just finished watching the 2nd half this morning at 8:45. There's not much about the game I didn't like. What a difference a week makes! Was this really my Bills? I graded them a 92. Where am I wrong here?...too high, too low...or right on? I decided that for me to purchase the NFL Sunday Ticket, the Bills must pass my preseason test. Now when I went to school, a passing grade was 65. So I've decided to grade all four preseason games & average them out. If the average is above 65, I'm gonna purchase...if it's below, I'll listen to the games on the radio (unless it's televised). Now.. I am looking for some help here form you guys...there's hundreds of bucks here on the line. I gave the Bills a grade of 43 for preseason game # 1. Is my grade right on...too high, or too low? Please help...I may change my grade, but I need sound reasons. Thank you!
  7. What rigor? No hits...all swipes. They'll just be tuggin' on his jersey. No worries! Rookie of the Year!
  8. OK, let's say we charge outta the gate like a greyhound on a rabbit & squish the fish... then Yippee...reality check time. The Pack & The Pats on their turf. Can you say 1 & 2 ? I doubt if we'll be beaming with confidence come October.
  9. Dude...you need help...seriously!
  10. This is a great plan. Please FedEx it to Gailey
  11. And with having Spiller, & Jordan Bell lookin' smooth...er...make that Joique (been listening to Theisman too much), & hey Simpson looked good too...we're ok. No worries in the RB dept bobblehead...
  12. Thanks Scooby...your link made me realize that my test is more about sparing myself from gut wrenching agony than saving myself money. If the Bills score above a 65, I'll certainly be wheelin' & dealin' with them to get the best price...much appreciated!
  13. Thanks! I may be a little generous with this test...like a teacher wanting to pass the dumb kid in the class cause he brought her an apple years earlier, even though the apple was a bit rotten (wide right).

  15. Hey, if they are 0 & 5, or 1 & 4 by their BYE week ... & I think there's a good chance that may be the case, I'm with mattsox... I'll help the girls pack it it up. Is there a city in America named Loozerville we could program the GPS to?
  16. Of all the opening preseason games, we lost by the largest margin, & the Skins scored more points than any other team so far. We don't have much dignity left to handle disaster...so please let us vent. Yes, things can turn around...but is it gonna happen in this lifetime?
  17. So let me see if I understand you correctly. You believe Spiller will win rookie of the year honors & then some...but you prefer he do it on another team?
  18. Please don't forget to state that again after he wins Rookie of the Year
  19. One can only hope............
  20. I'm probably in the minority, but I would like to keep things the way they are, 4 & 16. I think it takes 4 games of evaluation to be fully prepared...especially for the Bills, & especially this year. Seems like every year we have some sort of upheaval to sort out. A shortened preseason can only be detrimental to the Bills. Now Indy on the other hand...they probably don't even need a preseason.
  21. WOW! I think it's safe to say that Lankster won't be our punt returner this yr....thankfully!
  22. And your drug of choice is..........???????????
  23. hahahaha gut laugh...spit coffee! Good one!
  24. I'm a pretty open-minded guy & try to give people the benefit of the doubt & not be judgmental. But man I can't stand listening to Theisman!
  25. I prefer to float down that river in Egypt thank you--- De-Nile. It's such a peaceful place.
